Quick and to the point, thank YOU!! This was extremely helpful. I hate those videos where it takes the person 5 minutes before they actually give instructions. You're awesome
Thank you so much! I don't know why but this is not something that is easy to find, I spent 15 minutes searching for how to work a tripod and found things that were much more complicated than what I needed before finding this video which is really what I was looking for.
Hi Kara Ferrari, I'm very happy to hear I was able to help you out! I agree that most photography tutorials seem to be written by pros for pros. Too much information is just as bad as too little information :) Have a great day!
OmgI feel so stupid I have had my tripod for several months and I thought it was broken because the top that can lip back, I was like my camera is going to fall off break I have a Nikon d3200 its kinda heavy, after I watched your video and see you have it turned sideways, ughhhh I feel like an idiot, thank you for this video seriously
Good day Robeszkajka, while most cameras can be mounted on a tripod, there are a few exceptions that either do not have the thread in the bottom, or require an additional adapter (such as Go Pro cameras). If it does have a thread, chances are it is the standard 1/4-20 thread, although a few exceptions require the much larger 3/8 threads. Many tripods have screws that can fit both mount types.
Questions: 1) The pin and the spring in the adapter, I guess is for some cameras have a hole where the pin is inserted. 2) If your camera doesn't have the pin, is there a correct position where to put the pin when you screw the adapter to the camera (pointing to front, left, right or back position)? Thanks!
Thank you so much. I managed to get my camera securely on the plate (not knowing the plate was removable) but couldn't get the camera off :). Thanks to your video, I now know how to correctly use the plate for mounting and removing my camera.
Been thinking about getting a used Canon Powershot that is in good condition and I have several tripods for filming on my iPhone 7. I always thought my tripods were broken but today I was thinking on how to put the camera on the tripod. Thanks for making this video. you are a life saver!
Thank you for showing me how to do it. I have never seen this in the instructions for either tripods nor cameras. This removes the trail & error method. 🤠
So that's how you do it. I was trying to screw in the camera by turning the camera and the plastic springy thing was getting in the way. I feel so stupid but happy I know how to do it now thanks to you. Thank you Sir
Thank you for sharing, that's Hakuba Brancer S5C, which I recently acquired at a Japan surplus with missing pieces. I have no clue what's the missing piece and how to set up it with a camera. thanks to your video, now I know.
Thank you, it is videos like these that seem to simple to even talk about, that are so valuable for the beginner. So thank you for taking the time to explain.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It seems so simple but I was trying to spin my camera onto the screw and that didn't work at all! I'm not mechanically minded at all, it seems. After watching your video I had no trouble attaching my camera, easy peasy.
Just got my Tripod WT - 3520 for Christmas. Your video really helped me out. couldn't be more happier. It fits very well with my Sony Cyber Shot DSC - W830. Now I'll be out train spotting with it for the rest if the holidays. Great video! Thanks a lot!
+Jean-Pierre La Forest Never knew what that latch was for. Thanks for helping me I now can put my new camera on my camera stand. You have earned a subscriber.
Ohhh my gosh!! You are literally a life saver!! Thank you so much! (Also I think you should ignore the hate comments because this video is super DUPER helpful!!) Thank you for teaching me how to use this!!
I have been a camera 'buff' for many years, but although I have had a tripod for many years as well, I don't often use it as I get sick of having to screw the camera in to the tripod, and it gets tangled up with the strap and lens cover. WOW!! now after watching your video and realizing what to do and how to properly use and adapt this, it's great. I feel soo silly. Thanks heaps for the info on the video. Yaaa!!!
Thank you for a very simple to follow tutorial. You would think this would be such a simple thing to do but it isn't if you've never done it before. I just got a new tripod and I couldn't figure out how to get the camera on their other than twisting the camera. But that didn't work very well because there's that weird little thing sticking up next to it. Looked at the instructions and of course there's nothing in there other than how to set up the tripod!
Hi...first time user of a tripod and my tripod came without directions...had no idea I had to screw the camera on....This was very easy to follow and I am so happy that I do not have to return the tripod.
I liked your intro... very useful... I have a camera and a tripod but I dont have that plate which holds it... can you plz let me know what is the technical specifications and depth details of the bottom Plate which mounts under the camera. I wanted to buy one.
I want to start making videos but I've been wondering, do you have any ideas on cameras that's less expensive but effective?. Please this means a lot to me, thanks.
hah should have watched your tutorial first...I'm a total newb and it took me a while to figure out how to install my compact camera on the tripod! :-) Great video.
Thanks Jean for the video and instructions. I don't have a tripod yet (its' on the way) and I was looking for information regarding the screw thread on the tripod so that I can use it with a smartphone mount adaptor. This video was very useful to me! I wish you good luck with your channel :)
Depending on the brand/model, each tripod is slightly different, but there is usually 1 or 2 levers/buttons that need to be pushed. Having 2 things to press helps ensure the camera doesn't accidentally slide off.
Love your Intro XD Also thank you :D this was very informative. I wonder though, what is the little knob for on the tripot? The one next to the screw in part. The black little button. What purpose does it serve?
OMG THANK YOU!! i feel super dumb. i didn't know that if you lift the lever that piece comes if so i have been twisting my camera on and off the tripod. It takes forever, and is hard to do with my camera strap THANKYOU
Hi LaurnEpic, glad I could be of help! It's one of those things that pros take for granted, and first time users look at the tripod and have no idea where to begin :)
I know I'm sooooooper late, and this was a helpful video, but does anyone know where to get the replacement part that goes UNDER the plate? The part that connects the plate to the bass of the tripod (the part that screws into the joint)? Or do I have to buy a whole new tripod? Thank you!
Hi there :) thanks for your video. I just bought a secondhand tripod, but it doesn't have that plate. There's just the odd shaped gap with the swing release lever thingy. Does this mean that the plate is missing, that it should be included, as I am now beginning to suspect .. thanks for your advice!
Good day, unfortunately yes tripods isually come (or should) with the plate. Sometimes the manufacturer might sell replacements, or may be using a widely used type.
Quick and to the point, thank YOU!! This was extremely helpful. I hate those videos where it takes the person 5 minutes before they actually give instructions. You're awesome
That intro made me lol, thanks btw.
LOOOOOL IKR 😂😂😂
+MyYTlife reminded me of some tim and eric type shit lmfao
YetiMacheteHD looooooooooooooooool

Me too, Lol! Very sweet intro!
Thank you so much! I don't know why but this is not something that is easy to find, I spent 15 minutes searching for how to work a tripod and found things that were much more complicated than what I needed before finding this video which is really what I was looking for.

Thank you random man for helping me.
This is the best camera tripod video I have seen till now because it explains the basic things that the other videos skip.

@silversky99999 Mizzpurdy, I have the same camera and I was wondering how to fit it onto my tripod. So don't feel bad!
Thanks for the refresher, I wanted to make sure
I just purchased this model today and had no clue how to use it so thank you. This tutorial was quick, to the point, but accurate. Thank you!
Good job !!
Found your video the very day I purchased my first tripod. You made it easy to understand for thousands of people. Thanks
You're very welcome, glad I could help!
Thanks for the help! I have a question. Can I put every type of camera on any tripod? Thank you!
Many tripods have screws that can fit both mount types.

you have the sickest intro bro!
Thanks!
Thanks from inside of my heart man, really realistic Thumbnail
Thank you so much. I managed to get my camera securely on the plate (not knowing the plate was removable) but couldn't get the camera off :). Thanks to your video, I now know how to correctly use the plate for mounting and removing my camera.
Thank God for people like you and RUclips!

Hi Pat Wilson, glad I could be of help!
Thanks for that as I couldn't work it out
Thank you for showing me how to do it. I have never seen this in the instructions for either tripods nor cameras. This removes the trail & error method. 🤠
Short simple and sweet. That's what I was looking for. You have got a like and a subscriber.
Love the Canadoan accent, straightforward presentation and Windows first generation Times New Roman type font. :)
Quick and to the point. Super helpful. Thanks for making videos to help others!
It helped me. I just received my new tripod. Will be uploading the video about it tomorrow.
thanks for this video. I just bought a new Video ZOOM Q8 and a Tri Pod. Never used one before your video came up first. Great video.
The store's online chat said I would have to bring the tripod and camera back to the store to find out how to use it. Thank you, now I just did it =}
dude you deserve more than 25 million subs u helped me out alot
thank you very much :)
The best intro I’ve seen ever
Sir i missed my tripod plate.. Can I know the size( bottom size) of your plate... It is the same plate which I had
i actually thought something was wrong with the tripod mount! This helped me so much! This information should come with the tripod.
The intro is DA BOMB!
Why does my tripod have a small lug next to the screw? This makes it difficult to attach the camera without cross threading the screw.
THANK YOU
Thank you, it is videos like these that seem to simple to even talk about, that are so valuable for the beginner. So thank you for taking the time to explain.

Super helpful tutorial. Thank you!
Thanks so much. Very helpful. The first video in my search 🙂
Hi Judy Ann Macaranas, yes most digital cameras do have a tripod thread in the bottom, but you have to double-check for your specific model.
+Jean-Pierre La Forest I have a Canon rebel T3. What's the best, cheapest tripod that I can use. Looking for a 72" tripod.
+Jean-Pierre La Forest Never knew what that latch was for. Thanks for helping me I now can put my new camera on my camera stand. You have earned a subscriber.
+brocktonsfinest20 bro use simpex tripod or photoron 540

What is the little knob next to the screw on the quick release plate??
Elisa H I've been wondering the same thing. I haven't found any info.
Elisa H Not sure but I think that pin would fit in a small hold under the camera, to prevent the camera rotating and gets loose
anyone know what this is yet?
i love your introduction, really funny!
Hi *****, I'm glad you like it!
Thank you for a very simple to follow tutorial. You would think this would be such a simple thing to do but it isn't if you've never done it before. Merci Jean-Pierre! I just got my new camera (transitioning from making iPhone content), no longer doing 'the twist' every time, thank you 😆
I liked your intro... very useful... I have a camera and a tripod but I dont have that plate which holds it... can you plz let me know what is the technical specifications and depth details of the bottom Plate which mounts under the camera. I wanted to buy one.
Thanks...just what I was looking for...
0:48 We accidentally broke the little black thing on the right. What is the use of that? And how do I re-insert it back?
Most cameras do not have the extra hole needed to take care of the little plastic pin, so unless you have one of those, you can ignore the broken pin.
Thanks, clearest explanation I found.
Eagerly awaiting the next tutorial on how to change a lightbulb. Should only take about 20 minutes.
Thanks a lot! For us total beginners this is very useful piece of information.
Thank you!!!! I managed to follow through without breaking anything!!!!
I want to start making videos but I've been wondering, do you have any ideas on cameras that's less expensive but effective?. Please this means a lot to me, thanks.
I love this guy!! He is amazing!
Very helpful. I was looking at the directions like "wtf" but just watching the first minute of your video I figured it out.
Hi *****, I'm glad I could help you getting started with your tripod!
hah should have watched your tutorial first...I'm a total newb and it took me a while to figure out how to install my compact camera on the tripod! :-) Great video.
Thank you... I knew there had to be an easier way than what I was doing!
Thank you, very straightforward, I am very New to the Platform and I managed to attach my camera to the tripod.

Thanks Jean for the video and instructions. I don't have a tripod yet (its' on the way) and I was looking for information regarding the screw thread on the tripod so that I can use it with a smartphone mount adaptor. This video was very useful to me! I wish you good luck with your channel :)
Thanks RoamerRealm, glad I could be of help!

Depending on the brand/model, each tripod is slightly different, but there is usually 1 or 2 levers/buttons that need to be pushed. Having 2 things to press helps ensure the camera doesn't accidentally slide off.

Hi LaurnEpic, glad I could be of help! It's one of those things that pros take for granted, and first time users look at the tripod and have no idea where to begin :)
Thank you, the instructions lacked this part!
I've been doing this wrong for like a year and a half. #wtf
+dongyo69 i didn't deatach the plate I just spun it onto the screw while constantly pushing down the nob.
