700.11&700.27 Class 2 Systems (emergency systems)

New sections were added to address Class 2 lighting systems (such as Power over Ethernet) used for emergency lighting.

I find it funny and quirky that we get so so concerned about safety that we lose common sense, Really now, let's be real. not every wire is a snake about to bite. Embrace knowledge, not fear. Gee Wiz.

We’re not worried about snakes.
What happens is that some guy comes in with a hammer drill to make a hole for a new waste line or such and nicks the cat 5/6 cable, then the emergency lights don’t work when needed.
