i like the games with these lesser used resource ships so i have a better idea what i may get next as i now have several of the "most popular" ships in my port already.
I like Plymouth a lot. She feels like a Edinburgh that got really angry about being picked on as a T8. She does also play a lot like Edin as well. She does have the major advantage of being a rare ship, so a lot of players don't realise her radar and conceal are near-as-dammit the same and that she has smoke, hydro AND radar all at once. So many times I've caught a DD (or even a cruiser) out because they don't realise I can smoke up AND radar them to death. Is she worth paying all that steel for? You do have to like the UK CLs for her to be worth getting, but thankfully Leander, Fiji, Edin and Mino are some of my favourites ships, so for me, hell yes. And because her play-style is in line with the Tech-Line RN CLs, she is a good captain booster/farmer.
Ngl when i got to Mino, i found that I enjoyed neptune and edin a little more, idk something about mino makes it slightly more squishy, feels i get deleted way more when trying to do bullshit
I'd love to see Agir built for guns. People sleep on it now that that secondary nerf came into place awhile back. But when built for AP/guns it can do some serious work with how good its armor is.
Really glad you featured this. She's my 3rd steel ship (after Incomp and Stali) and since I got her, I haven't played my Minotaur. I prefer shooting less and doing more damage, and the (slightly) better ballistics and accuracy seem to work better for me. It's a shame to lose out on the ability to shoot down an entire CV squadron, but then again smoke and radar are a very deadly combination.
Glad I could throw away my Vampire to give you a game to shine. Man with all these stamps lately it's easier to overextend if you think there is not much time left to get some DMG. Thx for carrying the rest.
i like the games with these lesser used resource ships so i have a better idea what i may get next as i now have several of the "most popular" ships in my port already.
I don't understand people's obsession with comparing it to a Minotaur as if it was an alternative Minotaur or a competitor to Minotaur. It is obviously an alternative t10 Belfast, and in that light I think it's a great ship. Performs well and is fun to play.
Thanks for playing Plymouth. I'm close to pulling the trigger for either Plymouth or Stalingrad so the vid gives me some objective information. Thanks PQ.
@@WhatTheSamHill7303 I settled on the Stalin personally and I do love it. The guns are just… unbelievably good. There is nothing in the game comparable imo, they just feel fantastic to use.
Stalin is good and has the unique function of acting like a BB: great guns that can citadel most BBs, long range, radar. However, it is the size of a BB, slow reload, poor concealment (larger than most BBs), massive citadel, and BB- length fire damage. Great with support and can hold a flank.
I have enough steel to pick up Plymouth and at least one other ship. But I don't feel Plymouth is unique enough to justify the steel cost. Thanks for the Plymouth review, PQ. Quick question.....which CV do you think is a better damage platform, Malta or FDR?
Been screaming about this ship since release!!! NO!!!! It is not a "worse mino"! I'll give "different". Done a deep dive comparison vid between the 2, and while every ship comparison can come down to circumstances, I'm currently at a 64% wr with ply and only find really challenging games involving aware CVs, and well played counter-radar. She is a beast imo, but BY ALL MEANS, CONTINUE TO UNDERSELL HER!!😉 I'll gladly keep the power more to myself. o7
Having 54k steel and a choice between Plymouth and Austin, I had a clan mate play Plymouth in CB last night. So in between matches I pulled the trigger on Plymouth. Your timing is impeccable as I do research on how to play and kit her out. Thanks, Mizzerys_Fate, NA.
Reminds me neptune"s game play(tier 9 british cruiser)same reload all most, same number of turrets and guns on them. I think with this amount of steel you can buy better ships but i have to admit its an honest choice if some one want to take it to his/her port. Thanks for the video it was interesting.
Doubt this gets upvoted, but Smaland to show us mortals how one can be used... and for those of us who will never get it, at least figure out what the blazes to do when fighting one as a DD.
Thank you for the vids. Love the plays - and I often learn what I SHOULD be doing. Doesn't help as much as it should but hey - I least I don't die ignorant (live, die, repeat!). I actually like all of the Brit lines, and slowly getting better at Plymouth. Please Keep doing the streams and keep having fun.
I'll never tally the votes but Ragnar! If you suck at cruisers as I do Ragnar might be your answer. Yes it's a DD but "no" it's a pocket cruiser. The gun accuracy is insane, the short super speed boost brings it to nearly 50knots (for a short time). Because of the guns accuracy and decent agility (compared to cruisers) it can open water using the high velocity shells and in keeping at long range. "It's not bad"! How about it? RAGNAR?
Hi PQ, First of all thank you very much for your insanely gorgious content. I would like to ask you how all your ressources incl. steel, coal and research points are presented in the port? Is this some mod or how can I enable it? In case it is indeed a mod (which I assume) what mod is it and where can I get it? Thank you once again very much and have a great rest of your weekend! :) Greetings from Germany Geminga / Markus
To me Plymouth always seemed like it was the "real" T10 of the British CL line- it effectively plays the same as a smoke Edin or Neptune, the only difference is you get radar and no super heal. tbh I picked it up because it was the "only other option" of the steel ships when I got my coupon at christmas (the others being FDR (no), mecklenberg (not really my taste in BBs) and ragnar (I already have smaland, so i don't really need it). I've yet to play it but I still think it can do pretty good- Minotaur is just more readily available and more hilarious.
I'm not sure what about this ship makes it a worse mino. If we're being really generous then I'd call it a side grade if not an upgrade. A bit slower reload is fine when you consider how much utility this ship gains with smoke+radar combo.
The DPM drop is very noticeable, seeing as Plymouth has around 150k less DPM compared to Mino stock as well as having worse concealment, speed, greatly reduced AA, and is lacking the super heal. Plymouth also has half the torpedoes though that is less relevant. That's not to say Plymouth is bad, but it does have some fairly major trade offs for that radar. More so when you consider a radar Mino has a better radar, sure it now lacks smoke, but the extra 1km range makes a huge difference in the effectiveness of the radar. Seeing as if you spot a radar Mino you are within 1km of the end range of it's radar, if you spot a Plymouth you aren't in it's radar range yet, and the 0.2km of range can give DDs a chance to turn around and get away without ever being spotted or not being spotted for long. Plymouth is one of those ships that isn't bad, just isn't great ether. Now I could agree with it being a side grade if it had a 10km radar, the DPM drop should be enough already to balance out having a 10km radar plus smoke, yet Wargaming chose to slightly overbalance it and now it's just kind of meh. Though for divisions it could be a menace, as it's utility would be far better along side ships that can take advantage of it's smoke and radar that it could actually coordinate with. At the end here I'll mention to me, Plymouth is an upgrade over Neptune, both ships having comparable DPM, but Plymouth having the radar/smoke combo is an upgrade, but over Mino it's just not good enough to justify losing so much DPM.
This boat is a typical example of how you shouldnt listen to the community in this game. The forums have claimed this is "just a worse mino" for ages, and it's just not true. I have it myself and its imo stronger than Minotaur if you objective is influence the game and play for objectives. I'm tired of hearing the age old "get Bourgogne first" and everyone repeating it without second thought. Sometimes you just gotta stop listening to the herd mentality in the community, because that's what it is, a fucking herd mentality.
Repeating my request for a gun build. Shamikaze. Also fall gun build kurfurst would actually be good. The guns feel extremely scary now that it's premium.
It seems to take a very long time to do any meaningful amount of damage in a Plymouth. I still don't get why WG is so afraid of giving the british cruisers HE. I guess you need to be a Smolensk for that
Easy answer is Mikhail Kutuzov, the ship everyone claims is overpowered but is literally just a Chapayev with no radar and a smoke screen. Smoke + 152mm HE is considered to be an OP combination. That's also why ships like Smolensk are okay having smoke and HE, it's guns can't pen 32, leaving most of it's DPM focused on DDs, and very little of it is focused on BBs. More complicated reason is how the players would react to an HE slinging ship that has a smoke screen and good rate of fire, that actually has guns big enough to be a threat. A Chappy that can stealth up in open water is considered overpowered by the community, imagine if they gave Plymouth HE, it would not only would it likely have HE DPM not far behind Worcester, but it would have smoke and a radar that is exactly the same as Worcester. The only real way Wargaming could fix that would be to give it a stupidly long reload like they did Belfast 43, making it nearly unplayable. Yet at the same time, them releasing a ship that only fires AP, but has stupidly high DPM(Plymouth still has 457k stock DPM) the community is more okay with it, because they don't seem to really comprehend the AP is killing them so much faster than HE would. Seeing as anyone who has played Worcester and Minotaur could tell you, if Mino AP shattered, Worcester HE would have as well, it would have shattered on likely far weaker armor plates, seeing as you only need 38mm to defeat 152 HE, where as even at a theoretical 23km range Mino/Plymouth AP still pens over 40mm and still has it's 60~75 ricochet angles. TL:DR BB mains think HE in general is overpowered, and smoke makes HE even better, that's why Brit light cruisers don't get HE, yet their AP is better and is why when they do get HE on some premiums they lose the great AP.
Lets keep doing british stuff - I'd like to know how Gibraltar works.. I should probably check if you've already done it..

I would like to see the T8 French BB Gascogne. I dont think ive ever seen anyone play well with this ship
I've had some great games in her, but she is tricky to play. I think I'm in the minority in liking her.
Eh idk I average 100K in it, and in ohio for example, only average 103K. It's strong.
@@michaels9739 yeah im sure some people are strong with it.. its just rare to see
Vampire II is such an interesting little ship, it'd be neat to see you give it a shot.
love vampire 2
I'd love to see Agir built for guns. People sleep on it now that that secondary nerf came into place awhile back. But when built for AP/guns it can do some serious work with how good its armor is.
ERIE next one. T1 4EVER!
With halsey of course
Exactly this. Shame those games are too short
Had to scroll down very far to find this Erie = best
That would be great seal clubbing video.
TOP!
Fenyang could be nice to see, it's not a great ship but it's fun.
Would be interesting to see you play a game in the Iwalki Alpha and Arkansas Beta not for any review, but just for the novelty of it.
I wish they would release those ships, minus the Alpha and Beta acronyms.

This is my favorite T10 CL.
Do i recommend her to anyone? No.
Why? She takes a special person to enjoy and you have to have support to do well in her.
I have the radar mod in the 2nd slot. And think the cruiser was really strong in T10 ranked.

It feels like a TX Edinburgh, Minotaur is just something else.
Duke of York, interesting historically but I don't know how it plays
would love to see a video on the kii, havent seen it featured on your channel and its one of my favorite tier 8 battleships
Colbert review much needed
if you ditch concelment mod for the consumable mod you can build it with 58-59 second radar which makes it great at locking down a cap for a long time
if you also get the radar mod as well
I love it, has higher alpha damage so can blap destroyers before they have time to angle
in legends its 2 tiers lower then the Minotaur but you need to chose between radar and smoke

Lets not forget the shells are not floaty as the minotaur is. IMO the Mino is a sudden change in the line and the plymouth is more in line.
Play the: Georgia w/ full secondary build to kill those pesky DDs. Fast as f*** boi!
A very fun ship to play. Takes patience. 4 games with reload, highest damage 137k.

I'm surprised at the regolo hate. I love that shit. It's easily one of my favorite destroyers to play
Preussen main battery build
Listen my brother. We all know this game has problems. It doesn't need to be discussed in every video.
I feel like when he doesn’t people just flood the comments with negativity towards him
radar+smoke+hydro combo is just insane
I guess this game asks for colbert cause the fear of exploding gives adrenaline.
torpedo build omaha
Smolensk or Colbert
colbert would be great
Maybe Napoli for the next one. It’s quite interesting.
I have Ragnar and Stalingrad. This will probably be my next steel ship, whenever that is.

What a beauty of a ship tho
How about the ragnar?
Napoli!!!
Do Constellation!
The first good looking US light tank in a while lmao.

Wichita? I know it won't win but I never see her anymore.
Malta just to see you play a cv

Druid next
BALAO!!!!!!!
Isn’t it a tier 10 Belfast? 🤔
No HE and doesn't quite have the same ridiculous stealth advantage Belfast does
Belfast has HE. Otherwise, yes.
It doesn't have HE but it does have torps so people won't just charge your smoke like they will in a Belfast
Woah, Plymouth can avoid CVs and KILL Subs??? WG needs to nerf immediately
Go CV Malta)
