    You should consider snelling the hook because it keeps the hook in more of a circle so you don’t jump them off. Beautiful fish man!!!!

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  4 года назад +1

      If the fish are biting you don't really notice it all that much. On nights when i fish with Snook jigs sometimes I'll fish four hours straight with an eight foot rod and a 6000 sized reel. I do have to take breaks to retie, eat a snack or to release some Snook. The breaks are necessary.

    Jc i have a question about grunts. This week was the 1st time i really used them to snook fish. I really thought they were more hardy of a bait but they didn't seem to last long. Whats your experience with them. I was disappointed in how quickly they ran out of steam and just floated

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  4 года назад +1

      That's exactly my experience with them as well. I have two friends who always say the love fishing for Snook with big Pigfish (Grunts). I always tell them I'd rather have a big Pinfish because they are much more vibrant and stay alive a lot longer. I suppose if I had a three dozen big Pigfish to use so I could keep a lively one on all the time maybe I'd enjoy fishing with them more. A big Pinfish for me gets chosen over a Pigfish every time.

  • @marcosalvarez6622

    Can you explain to me why you used that type of hook when using live bait over a circle hook?

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  4 года назад

      I seem to have a better catch ratio with J hooks.

    • @rapidtransit8373
      @rapidtransit8373 4 года назад

      J.C. I think you don't get cut off as much with the long shank of the j hook. But that could be just me.....I know most people will say the circle hook will get them in the lip. But fishing live bait they've been know to inhale it.

  • @Kevinw4040
    @Kevinw4040 4 года назад

    Hey I have a question. I know you weren’t using a super spook jr but I’ve been using one this weekend and the braid keeps hanging on the first treble I ended up removing that first treble all together but am afraid I may lose some catches due to just having the one back treble by itself. I know you use them a lot do you run into that problem?

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  4 года назад

      Yep. That lure is challenging at times with that first hook. My buddy said to try and practice having tension on the line as it hits the water. That lure drives me crazy sometimes. I don't have that problem as much with the big Surface Walker MirOlure I use.

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for watching. I believe that the night fishing videos are very educational for people wanting to target big Snook. The best chance of catching one is generally at night. The locals love the night videos because they can see where I'm catching giant Snook, ha ha...Well the edit on this one didn't show much of the surroundings. Thanks for commenting.
