My question is how do you prevent pin fish or smaller fish from hitting your shrimp and picking them off BEFORE the big fish can get to the whole shrimp
Love your videos. I live in Tucson, and don’t get to any water to fish. So I’m living my retirement years through your videos...some day, I’ll get to the ocean
its been four years but let me tell u can u can definitely move, take up some part time or full time work for some nest money then do the big sells to land a place anywhere youd like, even a foreign country. hope youll be seeing the sea
Your in Arizona just drive to San Diego the ocean. Is like 4-6 hours away I I’ve in California and drive to Oklahoma every year twice San Diego is skip away from Tucson
Make sure when your tightening down your knots especially the one you retied after you broke off, you wet the knot before tightening. It lubricates the line so it doesn't rub against itself so hard. Nice catch too!
Yeeting is fun sometimes and that can't possible be less humane than purposefully stabbing it in the mouth with a hook and forcibly dragging it back to shore😅 oh but a little airtime and a splash is just too much😂 these people crack me up bro
great video! i was in florida for the first time in december 2019 staying in the tampa area for a month. got my fishing license and went fishing at one of the piers, buying some raw shrimp - not live like yours - along the way and fished like i've done from piers in california. caught abought a 16" snook - first one ever. i asked a guy what kind of fish it was, he said snook and out of season and i said it's my first one and he replied that some guys fish and fish and have never caught one!
As a lifelong Tampa resident I can attest he was right. Shrimp get hoovered by anything in the ocean, and dead ones even faster than live. Snook will eat dead shrimp but they are active predators and prefer live food. You got a very rare snag with a decent size snook on dead shrimp, right place at the right time! Nice job!
Yup big shrimp, big pinfish, bit mullet will get you big snook. You were in the right spot too, it seemed. Right around structures where the snook feed when time tide goes out probably. Nice job been wanting to catch one. Greetings from South Texas.
Congratulations to you and your dad! Yeah man those Snooks are picky at times and you got there at the right time when they were hungry...sucks it wasn't a catch and cook. Jumbo shrimp with lite tackle rocks!
Hey skipper can you show me how the proper way to put the hook and sinker on the fishing line and also what size fishing line is recommended for catching big fish??
Cool man I was the guy in the green jacket fishing behind you. I use that tee knot and caught lots of pompano and black drum. Yesterday the snook were biting greenies. Will see you out here again. Try snappers this summer.
Hey skipper, I LITTRALY WENT THERE ON SATURDAY..... i caught 6 blue fish and 1 black drum, cant belive you went today.... looks like you had a blast, wish you the best of luck everytime!
Been following skipper for almost 2 years,I've learned a lot of fishing techniques. Well I hope I can acquire a set of quality fishing gears...I'm having a hard time mixing parts to achieve a proportioned gear...
as soon as you picked up the snook i (as someone also chasing my first snook) thought to myself “i would totally give the fish a kiss” the boom u do it. lol great minds think alike
Down in st Augustine fl loving it I found four fishing spots within five mins got a soft spot for flaggers bridge or what ever its called caught about thirty hard heads two angels a bunch of croaker two mullet two shrimp ...lol Noah of cast net. Got one looked like a tad pole but I put him back thought he was a stone fish and I don't need no sting
I noticed when you tie you’re knot you don’t wet the line you should try that I find when you set a dry line into a knot it makes it weak. Looks like a lot of fun though
“This is how you properly release a fish” and then your father few minutes later improperly tosses it back in, your father should take your advice 🤪🤣 but is good trick to get more comments
Hey Skipper we have lots of stuff. At our piers you can catch clear nose skate, yellowfin and spotfin croakers, corbina, spotted bay bass, bat rays, halibut, and bait such as jacksmelt, mackerel and sardines, there’s also barred surf perch
Great vid as usual. Question. I live in the Maryland area and want to bring my kids surf fishing and camping this summer/fall. What camping area or park do you suggest that we can camp and beach fish.
For ocean? Chincoteague, Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth, Fenwick, Ocean City, Bethany Fishing abounds in MD. If you are military-lots of campgrounds in the MD area - cheaper too. I used to live in MD. But taxes, driving congestion, laws and politics drove me across the state line to Shepherdstown, WV. I drive 90 min to the Naval Academy to fish off the docks for perch. Crabbing - it's a whole 'nother thing for discussion. Same for freshwater fishing. Go to dnr.maryland.gov/fisheries/Pages/default.aspx

@@BY-bj6ic I'll check out the chanel.
I love this guy. I feel like I learn something new each video and just genuinely enjoy his experience and his passion.
people try tell me you can't catch nothing big with dead bait
@@feralgoat3771 yes u can
My question is how do you prevent pin fish or smaller fish from hitting your shrimp and picking them off BEFORE the big fish can get to the whole shrimp
Yes I would like to hear the answer to your question too
Can't prevent it. Other option is to use small fish as a bait.
While you wait for a big fish, catch those little bastards with sabiki rigs and keep some, that way they get scared off
@@mobiledragon3449 ya gotta put at least 1-2 in a chum bag and toss it off the side, to remind them why they should be scared👌
@@Ham_Strokers_Ejaculathat was such a great answer.
I love how humane you were to the snook when releasing it
Shut up
Meanwhile his buddy throws his right back like it’s just another fish 😢😂
Much respect on the treatment of the snook. Not sure what your friend and dad were doing with the drop. Seemed kinda stupid after what you did

Your dad‘s fish might have died the way it fell onto its side from that high But anyway, you guys had a great time, I loved it

Please clarify it to me in football terms cos I'm going fishing with my dad at 6Am and I'm drunk now 4AM
I never had any catch for the past few weeks......but I enjoyed watching you fishing and your wonderful performances.....TQVM (Lumut MALAYSIA)
Reminds me of that trip to Jersey Shore! Hooked up with Snooki, and the next day I realized I caught crabs.
😆
Love how he shows to gently put the fish back, and everyone else just yeets into the water. Lol
Yeeting is fun sometimes and that can't possible be less humane than purposefully stabbing it in the mouth with a hook and forcibly dragging it back to shore😅 oh but a little airtime and a splash is just too much😂 these people crack me up bro
They don't mind the yeeting.
so long those gills get some water

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, bro! Learning as much as I can from your videos and going to apply it to fishing here in Okinawa, Japan! 🙏🏽
Hehe I use my ultralight all the time off the local piers, I use 6lb test mono with shrimp and I usually get a decent haul.
Try using 1lb test fly fishing for trout.
@@thesweetestjerk8905 are you suggesting using the lightest possible line is better?
When u set up your rig for live bait. What kind of line did u use . N where did u get live shrimp
30lb leader is all you need for snooks. It’s not heavy and still lite enough to keep your bait manageable.
Skipper: “this is how you properly release at the Pier”
Dude in Red: “hold my beer...”
Haha right
Lmao my thoughts exactly
He released head first. It's another right way.
Yeeeeeet
Lmfao I came to read this 😂

Dude thanks for posting this video, as a beginner, I finally learned how to hook a shrimp without killing it. Thank you.
I love the vibes man. Can't wait to get my first rod and setup to go fishing 🎣
How long ur rod here nd ur reels
Tnx for the answer
Live shrimp is always a killer bait...I even got a Bass in the Everglades..

That was so cool to see you hook up with your first Snook! Always enjoy watching you both and dad!!!!
Thanks! It was a lucky day for us!
Can you float shrimp like that for red fish, where red fish are know for catching?
What are those nets called? Looks good and doesnt hurt the fishh too
Can you show us how to tie the fishing knot from start to reel to knot thank you

What pound mono line do you recommend for saltwater pier harbor and jetty fishing
15-30
Do u think one of the bubble float things u fill with water would work too?
What size barrel swivel and clip should i buy for this and the pompano rig? Thanks!

Nice spot bro....👍👍👍👍 I like its
Thanks 👍 its a very fun fishing spot
What kind of net is that called that you were using?
Drop-down nets they're called, ya can get em fairly cheap online man
Thank you headed to Miami in 2 weeks for boat show. Hoping to get one on my travel rod
Hey what drop net you use?
Is that a cray drop net? I need to get one
Is it necessary to have a leader in a set up?
Star: This is how you properly release a fish.
Co-stars: Whoop and splash!
What is that net dropiing thing called?
Crab trap
That guy who netted that snook is bad ass!👍
Anyone know the name of that knot he used after it broke? I'm new to fishing and i want to learn some strong knots
Improved clinch knot
Palomar is all you need
Sme pretty hefty drops for the fish. When they belly flop like that does it risk killing the fish. Is it not better to lower them back into the water?
First release was cool, last 2 "WHOMP" lol, at least Hey Skipper tried to set the example...
Hello, very good video. Could you tell me which rod you use?
I live in Melbourne I fish at Sebastian Inlet a lot. Nice catch
What is a better bait for pier fishing frozen or sea worms
Are you guys going to the fishing expo in Edison NJ this year again?

Three of the same snook caught. That fish was like, shrimp buffet and they throw me back. 😂😂 Three more weeks that snook will be the buffet. 😁

Swear I caught one in hatchet creek years ago near Talladega mabe it was a pelco or somthin
What size rod & reel are you using?
So is it safe to say the chances of pulling in a large fish without a net are slim ?
Congratulations 👏 you inspire me to go fishing with my dad!
You should make a video on the Naples pier
What do they call those nets he used at 5.10? I need
Thanks for sharing! Heading out next week to try my self. What size reel and braid were you using?
Never tried snook, now it’s on my fish bucket list.
Me too, I’m land locked in Colorado but it’s on the list now for sure!
What size line you use ?
Nice! What size hook are you using? I never know which size to use.
Where do you fish at buddy where at in Florida I am in Washington state and look like you have a great show
I noticed when you tie you’re knot you don’t wet the line you should try that I find when you set a dry line into a knot it makes it weak. Looks like a lot of fun though
Early in the morning at the Naples pier is the best, caught one fish. In the first 10 min of fishing
