What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

Good luck then. Terra's damage is meh, her only great damage skill is 2 and it is hard to hit and if you build her with damage she is too squishy. Terra's kit is a support kit, only see her ult. But of course, people hate supports :)

Sooo...Grandma (Terra) is angry, because her children (Titans) got killed by her grand children (Jupiter, Pluto and Neptun), after their father (Saturn) ate them, which is actually far worse, than what grandpa (Uranus) did, but caused grandma to dethrone him, after only locking them up...this woman should get her priorities in line.
it derives a little from the originals stories. Originally, Chronos/Saturn and his follow titans were not killed but imprisoned in Tartarus. And a lot of Titans still lived with the Olympians like Helios, the titan of the sun, Ocenaus, titan of the... oceans (wow, original XD), Themis, titan of justice and Leto, who, apparently, is also a goddess of childbirth but mostly the mother of Apollo and Artemis. And she helped hiding and raising Zeus/Jupiter despite knowing that he was going to dethrone Saturn. she knew that well, she is the one who spoke the prophecy.
So her lore is basically the roman version of Kronos and the gods?
Technically yes, Greco-Roman has similar gods but they're different in a way. Kronos is Saturn note how he's split open and Zeus is Jupiter but because this is Roman they're different
Saturn is the Roman name for Kronos/Chronos.
Terra is the Roman equivalent of Gaea

Only Trivia, mistress of all four elements could protect them. but when the world needed her most, she vanished. 100 uears past and we discovered a new power deity an areokinetic named Jupiter and although he's got a lot to leanr, I believe that he can save the world.

"Ouranos" is sky in Greek :p
It's supposed to be pronounced Uranus (just as it looks), but they went with his greek name Ouranos (Or-AH-nos).
It's closer to the correct, greek pronunciation than "your anus", though still wrong. It should be "ou-rah-NOS", not "ou-RA-nos".
SDFGReturns Well the Greek pronunciation is surprisingly usually correct, it's the Roman that people mess up.

This god actually comfort me, because Terra, also known as Gaia for Greeks, means Hi-Rez is not hostile with the idea of putting Titans in the Roman pantheon, what is perfect for my Oceanos God Concept (you can see it on my RUclips channel). By the way, my Hunter rework for him will come very soon.

As a person who read the Heros of Olympus books , I can say this wasn't what I was expecting at all. Not dissapointed , just a bit taken back. But sure all the ladies have to be sexy and all rather than made of dirt , amiright?

When the Romans conquered Greece they just kinda took Greek mythology, was like yoink, and replaced the names... Some gods are unique though, like their many wars gods ex: Bellona xD.

099Nitro Romans would take over then keep the captured culture's views largely intact, which is part of why they were so good at conquest. People hate changing their beliefs and the Romans miminalized that. There are some differences between the cultures in terms of mythology, but its obvious that roman myth came from greek myth.

am I the only one that's mad that they uses the Roman version of Gaiea? >_< I hate it because the story is the exact same across both because the Romans stole the Greek religion and altered it
The Romans didn't steal Greek Mythology. The cultures united after the Hellenistic era, the Roman gods then combined with the Greek gods, but still represented Roman culture rather then Greek culture. Roman gods that didn't have Greek parallels like Janus give us an idea how Roman gods were but that's another discussion. Jupiter is different from Zeus, as Jupiter has more to do with authority and law than Zeus. It should also be noted in Smite Greek Gods outnumber Roman, so it's more likely for future Greco-Roman gods to be in the Roman pantheon.

I just don't like Roman mythology, the origin of it came from the Greek colonies that spread through Rome. so yeah a bit of it is different but the core structure lies the same

This is a really disappointing god design in my opinion. She's literally the earth, yet she's just a woman with jagged, crystalline armor. Imagine if Geb was just a buff dude in armor. That'd be, to me, incredibly lazy design. So too with Terra. Huge missed opportunity.
Can't make a rock sexy, and thats what every female has to be in Smite.
Lore accurate Terra would be just a woman in a white dress. This is the most accurate they can go while still making her a badass earth goddess. So no....having her as a gaint earth woman would have been the most obvious and boring thing to do
They already did that with Geb he didn't look like he does in lore they went and made him what he is in the game. Imo just doing that with her would be boring.

It feels like every time I'm this close to mastery every Guardian, HR release another one.
And almost two years later she has seen many nerf including removal of her root, she has recently got it back due to the rework of her ult.
And i thought DC Terra's name was just a normal name. You learn something new everyday.

Yes! Finally, she's here! I was expecting Gaia, but ger Roman counterpart is great too. I was so sure she'd ve a mage, its a wonderful' surprise to see she's in fact a tanky character! Oooh, im gonna have so much, hand down one of my verry favorite mythological figure.

passive:leaves a trail behind her that speeds up allies
1:dashes towards the lowest health ally around her
2:summons a shield in front of her that absorbs damage in front of her(for those who play overwatch its essentially a reinhardt shield)
3: slows enemies in an area
4: causes a massive fissure of earth to go in a line infront of her, knocking up enemies
That ultimate ability literately has NERF ME! written all over it.
She's so similar to Terra from teen titans I love it, she's also a lot like Toph from Avatar. If Hi Rez ever think of having an anime event and get the rights we need a Toph skin for Terra!
