Tis 2020 and this stuff is still hilarious. Time surely for someone too pick up the baton and start another series of this. This lovely guy and his family for generations will look at this and, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
interesting but the police were always informed of this so they DIDNT SHOW UP - as beadle would often portray a police officer - the loopholes are quite astonishing it cost quite a lot 2 produce this - class work though, only 1 beadle :)
Just a shame TV nowadays is so crap. Nothing like this or any of the other good programs you would often watch - Two Ronnie's, Open all hours, Only Fools (of course), Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'em, Porridge, Keeping up appearances and more. Nothing comes close.
It's interesting (- & I remember watching this episode when it was first aired, back in the '80s), that they actually managed to get him & his wife to appear on the show. Most of the "victims" chose to stay on for a short interview with Beadle, yet this couple chose not to. It makes me wonder - had I been caught up in this, would I have really wanted my (initial) emotive state to be broadcast to several million people, regardless of whether/not my partner "thought I was a good sport", 'cos there's no going back, once people have a record of your reaction (- on their VCRs, as was the case, then). I couldn't stop laughing at this, but I was probably laughing at the people rather than with the people, & that's why this show was eventually pulled from the tv schedules. I'm sure that many of the viewers, here, made judgements about the people featured in this film footage, resulting in their amusement. I distinctly remember another episode where a boy - probably in his late teens - was pranked. The boy had a nervous twitch in one of his eyes. As his anxiety grew, during the course of the prank, this twitch occurred more intensely & frequently, much to the delight & amusement of the studio audience: it made me feel uncomfortable. There's a fine line between comedy & pippy show.......................
The sarcasm kills me with laughter - "any chance of a cup of tea" - "nice caravan" - absolute gold.

It's funny how time flies, all these people are probably dead now.
Prank went on far too long.
While funny, I did think it was a little unfortunate that they use the negative stereotype of the travelling community.
Well, I was thinking, new age travellers
Keep away from political correctness , and stick to reality , life will be a lot more straight forward .
Calm yer tits love. Life would be so much better......
