  • Watch as I cut and shape my curly hair to get more volume up top and some curls framing my face.
    I have trust issues when it comes to hair salons but a hair stylist I trust and has cut my hair a few times is @lukeccastillo on instagram. Check him out.
    Do you cut your hair yourself? How often? Or do you prefer to go to a salon?

    I love it. I feel like this method is more practical & I can see myself using it! My hair is the same way where the back grows faster & is a softer/looser curl pattern than the crown (the crown has a crazy mind of its own!) I can’t wait to try this! Thank you so much! ❤️

      aww thank you so much! I would feel like such a fraud doing a makeup tutorial as I'm so basic and don't really know much about makeup hahah. I have uploaded a GRWM recently on my instagram which lists all the products I use xx

    I will definitely try this technique for routine hair trims. In terms of shaping to be more even, I’m going to have to work up some courage, only because of mistakes I’ve made that I don’t want to repeat.😂

    Hi Abbie, first of all, how are you doing 😊 hope all is well ❤ lucky for me I'm watching this at 1:25am because if it was during the day I'd be heading for my scissors 😂. Whenever I watch someone trimming their hair I always feel the need to do my own even when it doesn't need a trim 😊. Yours turned out beautifully ❤ thanks for sharing but on this occasion I won't be following suit 😂 maybe in a couple of months or so 😂❤

      😂 I can relate! I get way too scissor happy and I've definitely cut my hair a few times since doing this video hahah. hope this method works for you when you give it a go! xx

    @AbbieCurls I had a question. If my hair keeps breaking and has tangles near the ends. Is it then time to trim the hair? And is this a sign that I am not trimming my hair often enough?

    • @AbbieCurls
      @AbbieCurls  8 месяцев назад +1

      yes and yes! hahah.
      If you ends are tangled and breaking that is a sign of old, dry brittle ends that need to go. Cut above where the damage is and it will make so much difference to how your hair looks and feels.
      I also like to trim my hair before any damage appears. That way, I can trim literally the very end of my hair off which won't affect the length but will keep my ends nice and healthy and avoid the problems you've mentioned. xx

    What do you do when the ends of the braids don’t line up (one section is shorter than the other?) I find this happens often with my braids. Does this impact the cut?

    • @tiahnarodriguez3809
      @tiahnarodriguez3809 Год назад +1

      Hair strands grow at different rates, so it’s normal to have sections that are shorter than others. In this case, you can either line the longer sections to be cut to the same length at the shorter section, or cut the long section together, and cut the short section separately. I do the last option.

    • @AbbieCurls
      @AbbieCurls  8 месяцев назад +1

      as mentioned in this video not all of my hair is the same length. Some braids are longer than the others even when they're the braids next to each other! What you do depends on whether you're worried about keeping the length or whether you're more worried about an even cut. If you want to keep the length, just trim the longer braid and wait until the shorter braid catches up. If you're more concerned with having an even cut, cut the braids to the same length. You'll endue having to take more off this way, but your fro will be nice and even all over :) hope this helps xx
