You could’ve walked further up the a40 bridge and gone down the other side of the canal, used to take my gear down that hill a few times back in the day. Or park on the a34 lay-by and go down the slip and there’s gaps in the fence down there 😂.

fished it for years back in 70,s and 80,s very good fishery back then good head of big roach tench that went from 5lb to 10lb it held the british record bream for a good few years with several different fish and the carp were only a few(i never fished for them)which were in the twenties back them
Planners would never let you use it for actual use as an entrance/ exit. Its for emergency vehicles only if cars were to go off the edge of the slip road
There is a hole in the fence on the layby u go throw the fence and the lake is right there we used to fish it really big bream and carp used to be a match pit really dodgy at night

No proper access in and out that won't change, otters have rinsed what foreigners haven't taken already, several people living in tents last year when I walked it! Don't waste your money!

I fished this years ago, probably near 40 years ago and caught nice tench and huge bream, I heard the record bream once came out of here

Used to cycle from Kidlington, Cross the A34 with bikes and gear and access from the layby on A34. Big pike and tench.
