How to Predict Epic Sunrise and Sunset Colour

In this video I explain how I use windy.com to try and predict whether or not there will be a colourful sunrise or sunset. It's a pretty simple process and with a basic understanding of clouds (which I explain) and using the forecast models built into windy.com - you stand a far better chance of securing a great shot.

Wow, you’ve just made my day. This new app is amazing! Follow up question. I know you said you like a big gap in the clouds 100km away. But is there a range to which it can still be good? For example, what if the gap was 20km away?

All gaps are good when it comes to the good medium and high level clouds, but ideally you want it a bit further out than 20km. You can also get incredible sunrise/sunset colour with no gap at all as long as the cloud is the good stuff! :)
