Alan, I appreciate your professional knowledge and love of Babymetal in analyzing MM. Highlighting and explaining aspects of the music that as someone with damaged hearing doesn't appreciate until revealed. Initially I hear a complex cascade sounds assailing my ears. When you point out things, I'm better able to extract those sounds and enjoy the music more.
I was thinking the same way when I saw this reaction. The first time I heard the song, it was fine for me, but then listen to this guy hearing and dissecting the song as a musician makes me enjoy the song in a different way.

Personally I've loved ALL the new songs but yeah this may be my favorite! That chorus might be the greatest in BM history .. and that breakdown, I think it passes Megitsune as best breakdown in BM history also!

This feels like a TOTD for me. (Seems EVERYONE loves that song, but I can't fully get into it) so this will have to grow on me. I like parts of it a lot, I just don't like the processing on their voices in some parts. LIVE as usual will be better. Of course SEEING the girls sing anything will always make it better too. I said this for another reactor's vid, but I totally hear Lacuna Coil in this and I want them to collab. I can hear Cristina singing this with Andrea putting some growls underneath. I've thought a lot of their sounds from Metal Galaxy and this album are really complementary to LC's sound and I would love to hear Cristina sing with Su and Moa (and Andrea, too, obv).
People have really been downplaying the concept album aspect saying there's none or whatever, but just listening to divine attack and mirror mirror in a row should show you how the songs of the album really do need the context of the album to work in their fullest. Divine attack is almost like an intro song to this one because of how the climax happens in its first half and the energy goes down in the second, preparing you for mirror mirror.

The deliberate departure from their usual sound is already enough to make it slightly a concept album but there's also connection both musically and in lyrics between the songs. The album itself also seems to be divided into three separate parts. I'll refrain from talking more right now since the album isn't officially released yet but you'll certainly see a lot of discussion about the underlying meaning when everyone gets to stream it.
I love everything about this song. Heavy, fast, and Su. I may not know about Metal but I feel like this is. IDK every genre thrown in BM songs but their awesome. Monochrome is good when u watch the concert version. I appreciate it more bcuz Su put an awesome display of emotions that touched every BM fan

Not trying to shit on their talent or skills, it was purely a subjective opinion, the bubble-gum pop vocals on earlier track like Karate, Papa-Ya, and Gimme Chocolate just didn't do it for me. But between this and Divine Attack? Holy shit! Thanks, Alan, for bringing both of these to my attention! I may have to pay attention to more of their work going forward now.
i've listened to it about 100 times and yes if awesome ! i needed some time with this song - but i'm a guitar player and that riff is just so awesome . and the breakdown is very emotional. now i just need Yui to return to the group and i'm in heaven .
I know how BABYMETAL refers to dark and light. It looks to me like this album so far is more of a dark BABYMETAL. And yes, Su's English is so good but I still need the Japanese language in their music for my satisfaction. And I'm still waiting for a Moa solo and naming of the third member. For my taste I still like Arkadia better than what has been released for the new album so far.
This is superb and I cannot wait for it at Leeds - presumably the chance for the Kami Babd to go on full flow. Even better than monochrome, this could be in the Babymetal top 5. My condolences to Wave for being stung by the Amuse Copyright police
I got the album today, a vinyl sized package for a CD with a 12” jigsaw puzzle. Ok then. 🤷🏻♂️ The album? Much better than expected and way better than the last one. BABYMETAL is performance art, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t bloody good from time to time.
This song's style reminds me a lot of From Autumn to Ashes, who would routinely go from brutal breakdowns (with accompanying brutal vocals) to more lighter arrangements with clean vocals within their songs. Obviously this song's lyrical style is much different, but man, it's so hard to go from one style to another to another back to one back another and to do it well. Bravo BABYMETAL.
One minor piece of criticism I have is that the chorus feels a little disjointed from the rest. But I have only listened to it three it times, it will probably iron itself out.
I bet he bought the Clear Box Version of the album which includes the mv for mirror mirror, recorded the reaction and published it as soon as the mv was live.

This song's style reminds me a lot of From Autumn to Ashes, who would routinely go from brutal breakdowns (with accompanying brutal vocals) to more lighter arrangements with clean vocals within their songs. Obviously this song's lyrical style is much different, but man, it's so hard to go from one style to another to another back to one back another and to do it well. Bravo BABYMETAL.
