I wasn't able to make a stream happen for this one, not that there'd be much commentary anyway for such a stacked tourney. World Champion Magnus Carlsen (DrDrunkenstein) was the top seeded participant at the start of this tournament. Thank you for your support of this channel, and for being awesome! 😎
ggs, that was a tough one. It would be nice to hear your live commentary though, I know it gives your opponents an advantage but its more fun to watch and listen at the same time.
The music is cool and all but I got used to hear "hi everyone, this is Jerry", background music is not a fit replacement for your commentary Jerry, besides, you can make a drinking game of it: drink 1 shot for every "oh men", "back to tournament", "I gotta go fast", "look at this (insert piece name), where is his future", and of course, 5 shots for every "I had his queen!"
LOL yeah...The commentary makes it infinitely better...but I only drink cheap beer while laying bed and watching. But it's one of my favorite things to do.
A few of my favorite moments: 14:55 Smothered mate 22:50 Fishing pole 1:45:25 Fighting King goes into Pac-Man mode 1:55:30 7th win in a row (2 GMs) threatening top-10 land!
One of the strongest big long-format online bullet tournaments ever played and /our guy/ came in just 16 points away from the money. Very well played!!
I loved watching your games and I could recognize your style on this tournament, but it really makes a difference when you are commenting! So you can be proud to be not only a great chess master, but the best teacher I’ve seen so far! All those up there don’t have that gift...
No more back to the tournement, no more gotta go fast, no more bishop going anywhere. Jerry goes full badass mode. I'm at the beginning of the video, and that music... Jeez. You're going at war on that one eh xD
That was awesome, Jerry. I am a big fan, kind of like a fan of a sports team. I was rooting for you all the way! Thank you for the hours of entertainment.
Honestly, if you had had a slighlty better win loss distribution (not more wins but a better streak) you would have made it into the top ten. Great job nonetheless. Keep it up Jerry! PS: I like the music =)
Oh man... when you tried the fishing pole and actually won... made my day! I started laughing so much! And although there was no voice... could hear you in my soul! 😅 Also... these super locked positions are so hard... I mean... so much calculation on bullet mode. I can imagine how stressful these are! I'm still watching, but great job so far! Seeing you and all these awesome people playing is really instructive! Thank you so much! Great music choice, by the way 😀 Edit (after watching it all): Wow! What a performance! Amazing job, Jerry!
Glad you were able to play this time around, but honestly I found your commentary of the first 2 to be so much better than any other commentaries out there, that I was hoping you'd do a third.
I really enjoyed your commentary on a couple of lichess arenas (not to mention all your game analysis)! Would love to see more commentary videos. But nonetheless enjoyed your chess!
Hey Jerry, perhaps you could consider going back over these videos and adding commentary after the fact? I know I would appreciate hearing a more in depth analysis from you especially on these high ranking games!
Congrats Jerry, amazing performance, that mate at 15:00 was first class! I was really hoping you would get paired with Magnus during your streak at the end.
I particularly liked the mate at 1:47:20. Did I read your slight pause before hitting “Back to tournament” correctly when it made me feel like you got a bit startled that it was mate? :-)
Astonishing wins, breathless mice races... What a Jerry!! this was awesome. Did i miss something or nobody asked where the music is taken from? Can someone tell me?
No, this isn't a track I normally listen to. I was listening to the score of "The Perfect Storm" while playing in this tourney. James Horner's work is beautiful.
Can someone tell me if he played with Magnus anywhere in the vid? Videos aren't so entertaining for me, because I love Jerry's commentary, but I'm still pretty curious on his games with Magnus. If any1 cares to give the timestamp I'd be grateful.
From the Lichess blog: RebeccaHarris = Daniel Naroditsky, opperwezen = Vincent Rothuis, UnVieuxMonsieur = Jules Moussard, GeorgMeier = Georg Meier (well that one is not hard to figure out)
obviously, huge edge point wise is given to just slightly better players who can maintain the steak for the longest. That kind of gives false impression between strength of the players in these tourneys. Sometimes it is just the timing of winnings and losses that puts equally performing players worlds apart. Not that i advocate different system. This one is pretty exciting.:)
There is a slight corrective mechanism in that pairings are based on your ranking in the tournament, so as you continue your streak you are more likely to meet someone who can break it. Or, better, you are more likely to face someone who is also on a streak or has benefited from one, so one of them has to end. It's probably not a perfect system, but it's a nice balance between sorting the players correctly and making the tournament exciting to play.

Jerry thinks I'm awesome, bucket list item check. Thanks mate!
Very impressive play by you considering the caliber of opponents you were up against. Well done on a top 20 finish!
ggs, that was a tough one. It would be nice to hear your live commentary though, I know it gives your opponents an advantage but its more fun to watch and listen at the same time.
you should do a face reveal or something
I'm the old dog that you keep teaching new tricks to. Thanks Jerry!
I've watched so many of your videos I feel like I can hear you talking during certain parts.

"Hmmmm. THAT move."
Dave Cradle, is that a meme? It should be worth at least 2 shots
Agreed. It’s just not fun without commentary and random nuances
Jerry finished far and away the highest NM in this tournament. The next highest is #47. Time to work on getting a FIDE title, Jerry?
thorjelly ivanmesquitta is a NM . He was ahead of Jerry with 10 minutes left. Not sure if he remained
He finished #47 with 78 points, Jerry finished #17 at 91 points.
he's been out of OTB tournament chess a long time
"Screw FIDE" -Jerry
There's still the occasional online FIDE-rated tournament
A few of my favorite moments:
14:55 Smothered mate
22:50 Fishing pole
1:45:25 Fighting King goes into Pac-Man mode
1:55:30 7th win in a row (2 GMs) threatening top-10 land!
What about the checkmate against IM larso? It's right after the king pac-man
That's right! How could I forget the "look what I found" mate? :)
I enjoyed his first 4, around 59:45. Love the way he excitedly ran his mouse around that precious yellow number
One of the strongest big long-format online bullet tournaments ever played and /our guy/ came in just 16 points away from the money. Very well played!!
14:59 I made an audible gasp, followed by an "Oh my gosh!" That was beautiful!!
Magnus completely DESTROYED the field. Impressive score.
Well to be fair he's going to as 90% of the field has very little chance against him
@@maxpheby7287 LMAO. You made a point for Beerdy
17th place for a NM is a wonderful result. congratulations. good fight.
performance of 3056 by Carlsen LOL
15:00 nice smothered mate
I loved watching your games and I could recognize your style on this tournament, but it really makes a difference when you are commenting! So you can be proud to be not only a great chess master, but the best teacher I’ve seen so far! All those up there don’t have that gift...
59:38 is such a cute moment. That 4 was long past due!
That win against gm arka around 11 minutes must have felt pretty good.
Kj Hyuk not sure why arka tried to berserk to someone who has almost the same rating as he is
Honestly, 17th place is an extremely good accomplishment considering the competition. Keep it up Jerry!
No more back to the tournement, no more gotta go fast, no more bishop going anywhere.
Jerry goes full badass mode. I'm at the beginning of the video, and that music... Jeez. You're going at war on that one eh xD

Seeing all Masters competing is like having all star cast in a movie. Great 2 hours of an epic battle!
Great performance Jerry, top 20 in this tournament is fenomenal, that's why I call you a bullet monster !
Honestly, if you had had a slighlty better win loss distribution (not more wins but a better streak) you would have made it into the top ten. Great job nonetheless. Keep it up Jerry!
PS: I like the music =)
love these, always impressive getting top 20-30 consistently
Caught the last part of this tournament live, always love your videos. Really glad to see the rest of your games!
Oh man... when you tried the fishing pole and actually won... made my day! I started laughing so much! And although there was no voice... could hear you in my soul! 😅

Edit (after watching it all): Wow! What a performance! Amazing job, Jerry!
H-TWO!! (22:50)
Glad you were able to play this time around, but honestly I found your commentary of the first 2 to be so much better than any other commentaries out there, that I was hoping you'd do a third.
Thanks, though I didn't commentate the 1st titled arena.
Jerry you turned into a beast the last few minutes!! Good job! And some of the mates you delivered, priceless!
Jerry’s Title is just NM
He’s actually a Grandmaster in disguise. =D
A fishing pole in a titled match at 22:50. Classic Jerry.
Can you make a video about this tournament, your games or GM games doesn’t really matter to me, but with your commentary?
Your comeback was incredible!!!!
My chanting reminded me of my good Ole trailer park days.
"JERRY-JERRY-JERRY!"
;)
I really enjoyed your commentary on a couple of lichess arenas (not to mention all your game analysis)! Would love to see more commentary videos. But nonetheless enjoyed your chess!
Jerry you are the true champion in our hearts #greatgames #thepeopleschamp
Epic music choice Jerry!
You got a congrats from Magnus in the comments. Well done.
23:06 I can hear him saying "fishing pole. watch out for H2!"
Every time I need motivation, I watch Jerry in this video taking on the big fishes.
Finishing top 20 in a tournament with Magnus, MVL, and other superGMs is quite an accomplishment
Even though this video has no commentary, this will be still my favourite of all titled arena cover by any chess RUclipsr :-)
Awesome! I love seeing you playing like that!
damn that run in the end was great, clutch plays Jerry! fun to watch, thanks for uploading it
Very impressive Jerry! Congrats!
That first 4 point game was soooo exciting!!! I loved your reaction with the mouse hahahaha you are the best Jerry!!!!!
Hey Jerry, perhaps you could consider going back over these videos and adding commentary after the fact? I know I would appreciate hearing a more in depth analysis from you especially on these high ranking games!
FeebleAssassin he will. we know he will ☺
Well played, Jerry!
Holy shit 17! Nice job, Jerry!
Excellent result, Jerry!
Congrats Jerry, amazing performance, that mate at 15:00 was first class! I was really hoping you would get paired with Magnus during your streak at the end.
congrats Jerry - highest placing NM!
I particularly liked the mate at 1:47:20. Did I read your slight pause before hitting “Back to tournament” correctly when it made me feel like you got a bit startled that it was mate? :-)
1:49:50 Unbelievable!!! Wow Jerry!
He had so much more time than you, but he lost on time,
ChessNetwork is strong af. 17th in a tournament of this level is insane
59:39 - The little mouse wiggle on the 4 after the classic timeburner!!!!!!
great job Jerry! proud of you.:)
Astonishing wins, breathless mice races... What a Jerry!! this was awesome. Did i miss something or nobody asked where the music is taken from? Can someone tell me?
great chess, great music
Jerry down a piece and with 4 secs on his clock: "Right, let's see how we convert this"
Oh yes! A new chess video! Thanks Jerry!
I saw your name in the tourney, I'm glad to see the video. Epic music, also.
love the music
Tournaments like this make me realize that there is still hope for humanity.
Excellent performance against some pretty stiff competition! Grats on a job well done.
What have your past few tourney norms been? I really enjoyed the soundtrack while playing along in my head. The smothered mate at 15:00 made me smile.
23:05
I think he learned to play chess from Bill Gates.
Hey Jerry, will you please do some colour calibration to your videos? Everything looks little faded. If you are using OBS studio, search for OBS luts.
Jerry at 59:34 : Yay I got fire!
Great music choice!
Congrats on 17th.
Man it's waaaay cooler when you speak along the games
Highest placing NM. Impressive.
50:39 I was thinking the same thing lol. You finally got a 4!!!
Eyyy got the fishing pole in at 23:10!!
Congratulations jerry, perhaps you'd do some post commentary on some of the games that stood out to you?
This music is perfect at least the intro so far. Is this stuff you listen to normally or just happen to find for an occasion such as this?
No, this isn't a track I normally listen to. I was listening to the score of "The Perfect Storm" while playing in this tourney. James Horner's work is beautiful.
Arka beeserking against you was a mistake
But me letting autocorrect do the work was a blunder
Berserk*
How do you feel about your performance in this tournament?
Can someone tell me if he played with Magnus anywhere in the vid? Videos aren't so entertaining for me, because I love Jerry's commentary, but I'm still pretty curious on his games with Magnus. If any1 cares to give the timestamp I'd be grateful.
He has yet to catch the elusive match with Magnus, but he finished very strong. Top 20 strong.
perhaps komarov can give commentary, yes?
My favourite game was at 1:14:25. King is a fighting piece!
Was worried for a bit there that you wouldn't get your 4 lol. Well played Jerry
FISHING POLE AT 23:00 😂😂😂
58:55 Monstrous comeback.
Nice finish, Jerry.
I won't have time to watch this in its entirety until tomorrow. Anyone know if he got his first game against Magnus and if so a time. Please and ty
39:00 wow, the comeback is real
best NM?
48:50 - Classic Jerry Clockburner against FM ClashRoyale!!!
WELL PLAYED JERRY
Nice run in the end there!
Jerry why no fide title plz
@23:06 - Proof that FM-2544s are also not immune to the Fishing Pole.
14:59 was a star move
Maybe you could analyze one some of you games in a follow up?
Great Jerry!!
59:38 lol was thinking exactly the same!
Sorry could someone inform of who rebecca harris actually is? the only rebecca harris ive found is a WFM but this says GM
probably someone else. Highly unlikely she would perform this well as a WFM
Serjey Karjakin
It's Daniel Naroditsky, says so on the blog page about the tournament on lichess
MAGNUS WAS NOT THE TOP SEEDED.
he was already announced as the winner before the competition even began
How come every time they berserk you, you start playing super fast.
great job jerry you beat many gms
Anyone care to divulge the names of some of the other top players in this tourney? Penguin and Drunkenstien are only ones I know.
Tam Crude rebeccaharris is karkarin i believe
Karkarin? :D Karjakin
From the Lichess blog: RebeccaHarris = Daniel Naroditsky, opperwezen = Vincent Rothuis, UnVieuxMonsieur = Jules Moussard, GeorgMeier = Georg Meier (well that one is not hard to figure out)
1:47:19 pretty cool mate
