Back in 1977, Starwars was one of the first big sci-fi films to ever debut.
George Lucas was actually scared it wouldn't do well in the premiere. He actually skipped out on it and took a vacation to Hawaii with Steven Spielberg. This vacation was where they brainstormed ideas for Indiana Jones.

To answer a question: you don’t ‘become’ Force-Sensitive. You either are or you aren’t. But even if you are, you usually can’t do much with it consciously until you train yourself to use it, the way the Jedi and Sith do. But there’s a reason that, for example, both Anakin and Luke are incredibly good pilots even before any training; they’re using the Force without realizing it to amp up their instincts, reaction time, etc.

But as late as like 1990, George Lucas told Lawrence Kasdan then that the Force was like karate, that anyone could do it, but only those that made the effort actually did, like with any discipline. The idea of force sensitivity seems to come from stuff Lucas didn't create, and through osmosis, in the prequels it switches from, anyone can do this if they care enough, to, now it's inherited.

Prowse spoke all of Vader's lines during production, but the audio was muffled because of the helmet. They apparently always planned to re-record the dialogue, but had no idea who they would get do it. After they hired James Earl Jones for the part (who was never credited as the voice of Vader until Episode 6), and Prowse knew his dialogue would not be used, he started to improvise his lines for the remaining movies...sometimes even apparently speaking gibberish during filming.

Luke and Leia were always Force-sensitive, it was just latent. It was mentioned that Luke was a great pilot so it would seem that that’s how the Force was manifesting in him. I remember telling the other kids there was going to be a prequel trilogy back in '93. Kept trying to explain that was why it starts with episode 4. Felt so vindicated when that first trailer popped up.

The Clone Wars lasted three years, from the very first Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones to the final battles on Utapau, Kashyyyk, Mandalore, Felucia, and others in Revenge of the Sith. The exact years were 22 to 19 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin).

We didnt see enough of Luke pre this movie to know how much the force was present for him. However when Biggs describes him to the rebel commander as being on of the best pilots around and he talks about bullseyeing womp rats and it being easy. The force showed in his abilities in flying for sure.

Jane came up with the "force ghost" correctly as what happened to Obi-Wan after Vader killed him because they already talked about this way back in Sep '19 when they reacted to the reimagined SC-38 fan-made video. Jane hasn't seen any Star Wars movie yet during that time. I guess they forgot about it? 😁

George did not have everything planned out. He built his prequel films on vague ideas that he dropped in pieces of throwaway dialogue within the OT movies. For example, the idea of Luke being Darth Vader's son didn't even materialize until Empire Strikes Back. Before that, Anakin and Darth Vader were actually different people.

I think the main reason Chewie didn't get a medal was because Leia would have to climb a stepladder to do it - there was two full feet of height difference between Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew.

I think the officia time is 3 years between attack of the clones and revenge of the sith. Anakin and Padme saw each other during the short times they could steal away from their responsibilities.
Also, if you go by the novelizations of the original trilogy, Lucas did not have the entire story planned out. Darth Vader being Luke's father, Luke and Leia being brother and sister, even how Luke came to live with Owen and Beru (the novelization I have says Owen is Kenobi's brother) which if true means Lucas didn't originally have the forbidden love plot worked out yet. Some stuff you can tell he worked off of, but the original story has a lot of indications that he didn't have a grand plan but worked on it one step at a time

Chewie was offered a medal but he refused and said his medal should be dedicated to all the rebels who died in the battle. Wookies come from a warrior race and value honor and courage so it fitted his character to be humble and want the fallen honored when he did very little in comparison.

"Who shot first" is not a debate. The original had Han shooting first, which was considered part of who he was. He dealt with the underworld, and you don't survive by being squeeky clean. Later on GL changed that, and most of the fans hated it.
This little music video parody was based on it:

38:05 George Lucas wrote a story. He wanted to do a series of films, but they didn’t know if the films would be successful, so he packed the Death Star into one film. It’s released in 1977. Making the film required him to build a whole new innovative special effects company which then revolutionizes the industry. Upon rerelease (1980?), he changed the film opening crawl to “chapter four”. Within months, chapter five is released. George had plans for chapters seven to nine. When it came to making chapter six, George felt beat making these films, so he altered the plans to quickly wrap up all the loose ends within chapter six. Originally, he planned “the other” to be someone besides Leia. She would then lead the remnants of her people. Instead, George just made them siblings. Twenty years after the first film, he starts releasing the prequels. He talks about “these six films”. Then, he’s looking towards retirement. Backlash against George for the quality of the prequels. He sells Lucasfilm to Disney, with expectation that he’d have story input. Disney just takes it and makes seven to nine themselves.

The original trilogy is so good because George had a whole team working with him to call him out in his dumb ideas. When the prequels were being made, George had way too much say and control over the script, and his stupid ideas had no push back from his team.
