Here's a quick tip: get at least 1 Crowbar in the early game so you can one shot Wisps, Bettles, and Lemurians with your R even when they're at full hp. And If you get 2 Crowbars you can one shot them in their elite form.
Especially with the nerf to tritips, it was so weird to watch myself prioritizing crowbars over tritips in multishops lmao. Hot take, go all-in on a crowbar printer and just press R for the rest of the run :^)
i just spam utility and r. utility damages and r resets it. Bandit is busted, he can put out insane area damage with resets and crazy single target damage on bosses cuz of his right click
Haven't managed yet to unlock the second ability, but for the default, stacking mags, then crits, then predatory instincts, right click goes brrr. People believe it takes long for recharge 20 stacks of the secondary, until you realize you can kill a monster with lights out and refresh ALL of the stacks. I wonder if the secondary is the same but with range.
Yep, it works the same way - a reset will reset all of the stacks; the main difference is that one is AoE and a bit more damage, while the other is much easier to land and use since it's thrown. Also, if you want the achievement, you just need to get 9 backup mags, go to a tanky boss, use them, reset with R and do it again; alternatively you can get 19 and just spam.
Side side note - afterburner is wild as a mobility tool to supplement secondary builds with Bandit. Since using them doesnt break your sprint, you can have pretty amazing verticality by chaining stealth and knive usage to pop yourself up, and then Lights Outing to instantly refill your stealth charges (if you ever start getting low on secondary charges to stall your air time). It was unbelievably fun "flying" above a map without a single hopoo feather and only a couple of energy drinks to my name for movement items.

The hemorrhaging should be taken into mind that it procs from every critical strike, not from behind. If you stack glasses it is basically guaranteed bleed damage; additionally if you stack secondary mags, lights out will restore *all* of those stacks; I've found it majorly useful to gain the sadist achievement that way through dropping all my daggers into a boss, lighting out a wisp, and then pouring the rest in leading to some major damage output and quickly going over 20 stacks of hemorrhaging
All in all though, great guide as always! I'll keep items like the syringe in mind, I found that the predatory instincts really work miracles when it comes to reloading; pop an entire clip from behind and just watch that clip come back in instantly

Brainstalks syngergizes very well with Desperado (secondary special). A few stages in when there's a bunch of elites, just killing one of them will let you kill a bunch of enemies with Desperado, letting you easily get tokens. When you have a decent amount of tokens and/or crowbars, you'll also be oneshotting the elites, getting perma up-time desperado and gaining a lot of stacks.
Man, I got distracted by how well this was made and had to rewind it 30 seconds. Like, wow. This is better than any official guide or tutorial any games company could hope to produce. You really killed it while keeping it entertaining, short, and above all: informative.
it's just information you find in the game. Idk what you are talking about. It's extremely basic you can discover most of this in within the first couple hours of gameplay
Focus crystals are also a good investment, as more often than not, you're going to be close to your enemy, especially bosses. It turns smoke bomb into a mini nuke with a ukelele.
I love bandit, and his starting kit is probably one of the best in the game, aside from his secondary, which I always replace with the new heresy item anyways.
@@williammagsambol2143 hooks of heresy, it replaces your second skill with an orb that you charge and shoot, wooly mentioned it in one of his recent videos
so not mentioned in the video is an interesting way to play bandit by getting a few purity you can basically permanently stay cloaked and be untargetable, you can even cancel your cloak with another cloak making you an untargetable splash damage machine.
yee and you can perma fly with cloak spam and if you stack 100% crit and 1 mag you can spam out hemorrhage stacks so fast. definitely my favorite way to play him
I had a multiplayer run where I got a purity and alien head to get perma stealthed. Then I found a couple loops in that you could use a crowdfunder while in stealth. Those were the 2 turning points in the run for me, where I started surviving stages and started doing non-negligible damage.
Bandit's invisibility spoiled my muscle memory so much that I was spamming the orbital strike on the ground thinking that I will go invis and save my life from the overloading brass contraption chasing me.
for those who like desperato, here's a bunch of tips that might be useful! -the 10% is multiplicative, not additive, meaning 10 stacks of desperato deals DOUBLE your 600% damage, not 700%. and 30 stacks means quadruple that 600% damage, this is why both bands are insane in this dude, but especially with desperato -if you manage to get a brilliant behemoth, the explosion from the behemoth also counts as desperato kills, meaning, if you black hole 8 beatles and one-shot them with BB, you'll get 8 stacks of desperato, this might with with ukelele but I havent tested it yet. -one commenter already said this, but 1/2 crowbars is more than enough to get your stacks going, especially against beatles and elite wisps -has much less range than his M1 rifle, you cannot reach sky meadows monsters till you get a bit close enough to them -get purity and this becomes your main source of damage
Lights out is devastating when chaining stealth executions. The ranged dagger is just better than the melee. The single rifle does "less damage" but you don't miss pellets, it's 100% accurate, and it gives waaaaay better procs. Rifle all the way. Edit: also, you can fly if you time your stealth jumps right chaining lights out. Just get a crowbar or a bunch of wisps
@@erinbarr762 i mean the proc coefficient may be 0.5 but if you combine all five pellets it reaches something like 0.97 which is extremely close to the rifle. Plus the shotgun works better when you cap things since you’re looking at 40 health per shot vs 8 with the scythe as an example
@@thatguyyouhate3743 and that 0.5 per pellet demolishes the other one with one clover throw in the mix. Also more total damage in general, is true you are sacrificing the range, but up close the shotgun is the strongest. So they work as their gun type sugest.
One really important part of his playstyle that I discovered that you didn't mention is that Smoke Bomb isn't just utility, its an incredibly powerful offensive tool. I consider it Bandit's strongest skill, and the best tool for groups of enemies. The most important tip is to make sure to use it in the air. Run at a group of enemies, jump and activate smoke bomb. This will send you sailing over their heads and hit most of them with the first charge of smokebomb. While still above them, hit your R, triggering the second use of smoke bomb, which will almost certainly lower an enemy within range of your execute. This then resets your cooldowns, letting you repeat this rotation over and over. Smoke Bomb is also incredibly powerful with on hit items, particularly ukuleles. Also don't forget that smokebomb is also triggered by backstab, which can make the 200% x 2 attack instead be 400% x 2.
hell yeah. my favorite part of bandit is running up to a group of wisps, using smoke bomb to double jump, and then combo-ing revolver --> cooldown rest --> double jump.
There is a red item that grands you two more charges and faster colddown for utility skill, man is insane, you can spam it, run away or anything you want since is literally versatile
Tip for Light's Out: Hold down the "R" key when clearing wisps. Bandit will keep his revolver out and continue firing as long as you maintain the kill chain. This scales with attack speed. [I lean towards Desperado, but both are amazing]
ngl secondary actually becomes decent when you have 100% crit. stack it with backup mags, and/or a purity clover combo, and it becomes a lot more consistent. still yeah depend a lot more on that primary skill and Lights Out/Desperado and use the stealth to bail outta bad positions or get into good ones.
I found the knife realy usefull at damaging and quickly killing a large number of small enemys around you thanks to its basicly AOE attack, Realy good swarm killer.
I find that bringing 3 purities and desparato is a really fun build on bandit. Of course, you say goodbye to proc chance, but you get so much damage from desparato that it eventually doesnt matter.
I really like the hemmorhage (I don't think I ever wrote that word ever) because it's more of a addition to the bandit rather than an actual attack. Something to use when things are on cooldown and behind the monsters anyway so why not just give a nice slice and dice and bleed them out. Slowly.
Hemorrhage encourages building crit. 2,000 base dmg per stack is nothing to scoff at, even if it takes a while to get through that all. If you use Dagger and a few Backup Magazines, that's easily 8k bonus dmg on a boss. PLUS all stacks get refreshed on Lights Out, leading to another 8k. As long as the boss would normally take at least ~20s, you'll significantly speed it up.
man if I come to youtube for information I kind of already know these basics. I played a couple games and there was no new information in this video. Meh
so normally I disagree with most of woolies opinions (ahem ahem, huntress bad crowdfunder op, ahem ahem) but I actually agree with like 90% of the things woolie says here.
my favorite thing to do is run desperado and get 3 purity and one-shot everything and give up on proc items. works best when running command artifact and you don't even need to backstab to oneshot most thing.
Really big bandit tip! Hardlight afterburner gives you near infinite invisibility if you dont break the invisibility early with 3 charges of your shift for those sticky situations!!!!
Get 3 purities with Shaped Glass on Desperado. You have a One shot .5 sec cooldown ability that gets stronger with each kill. Add in Bands, Crowbars and you won't mind the - luck as you're not bothering with on hit. 10x crit glasses is 100% for even more doubled damage.
I've always found the M2 to be useful in clearing swarms of small enemies/fodder that build up around you while fighting bosses, since it's the Bandit's only real splash damage attack. (this is particularly useful when utilizing Blast over Burst)
@@willdc64 I'd like if you would cooperate and say you would LOVE to see the sniper back and pray for us sniper players. Thank you for your contribution 🤣
@@alecu5885 it does sound good, but it's not easy to implement. They did incredible job with the bandit revolver AND they also are aware of the sniper mods So that's a problem from the past (they talked exactly the way you talked, which is a good concern indeed)
purity x3 with desparado is basically a guaranteed win if ur not going for loops, especially since it's so easy to stack it up before the mithrix fight and then just spam a 3000% damage ability every half second
I think your undervaluing hemorage a bit. The absolute best part of hemorage is the fact it lasts 15 seconds. overloading/perfected eleits can *never* heal against bandit. because hemorage lasts 15 seconds, you never really have to think too hard about getting a backstab every singe dagger/shiv. Hemorage also beats bleed in the mithrix fight because it lasts long enough to stay during his long shockwave attack, and he stands still for a while after so you can get an easy refresh.
But Woolie, You have glanced over the 5 purity build with Desperado: Infinite flight/Stealth with SmokeBomb and ramping dmg over the stage. I also throw in a few shaped glass, and easily One-Shot Mithrix in all three phases back to back in that fight.
Using lights out allows you to fly if you do this: - Use a smoke bomb mid-air - Cancel it with lights out - Kill an enemy with it to reset your cooldowns - Repeat It mostly works on stages like wetland aspect which has a lot of low health enemies that you can one-shot easily (Especially the jellyfish)
Hardlight afterburner works wonders. Stacking crowbars w bandits secondary can 1 shot a lot of things. The name of the game for bandit is the crowbar for mobbing. Crowbar, AP rounds, Focusing Lense, ukulele, and gasoline. Nothing will live. Throw in hardlight afterburner and theyll never see you coming.
So far the bandit is my main :D love the invisibility + i like doing Invisibility, burst, melee, 360 spin Then the snipe shot and then 2 bursts on bosses 😭
I put this game down for a good while after I played it to death and sold my Nintendo switch. Realized two days ago that it's actually on all consoles now and I got it for my PS4..DIDNT EVEN KNOW THIS CHARACTER WAS ADDED...it is now my favorite hands down... I gotta unlock the captain
Just going to point out that Hemorrhage does more damage per second than bleed Hemorrhage: 2000% per 15 = 2000/15 = 133% Bleed: 240% per 3 = 240/3 = 80% Hemorrhage does 60% more than bleed, and you can double it every 2 seconds (0.5 if you have a SINGLE purity). I very much think this is by far one of the strongest parts of Bandit's kit
On my second day playing the game (today!), I got together with 3 friends who all played Engineer for memes on Drizzle. I chose Bandit because I couldn't participate in the meme (didn't unlock Engineer yet). For most of the time, I felt pretty useless, with them obliterating everything just by being there with their turrets and drones and such. But when we arrived at Mithrix and he just straight-up run up to them and killed them all with a single strike, I clutched the boss and the escape event, earning the "Bandit: B&E" achievement in the process. Felt fucking amazing. Now to repeat that on higher difficulties. :v
Invisibility doesn’t not stop enemy tracking 100% of the time. It’s more like in dota 2 where projectiles are disjointed but especially in multiplayer a lot of lemurians will just track you through it regardless
I have only started playing RoR for about a week, and have only unlocked Commando, Huntress, and Bandit, but goddamn Bandit feels so good to play. Chaining smoke bombs with Lights Out basically gives you a janky form of flight. I've still not gotten past my First loop, but I've only gotten to the 4th stage with Bandit
I've liked getting a few crowbars and then just jump, Smoke Bomb, Lights Out, Smoke Bomb, Lights Out, on and on and on. Literally just flying around the stage until the screen is dead.

@@kleox5452 "We’re also glad to announce that we have a new, internal team at Gearbox that is focused on continuing to bring all future content of Risk of Rain 2 to our console players with even closer parity to our PC version of the game.
While the Anniversary Update will be staggered from PC releases like before, our goal with Expansion #1 is to ship on all platforms at the same time. We can’t guarantee 100% that we will achieve that - its something we’ve admittedly never done before - but that’s our goal."
This is what he's referring to.
Brainstalks syngergizes very well with Desperado (secondary special). A few stages in when there's a bunch of elites, just killing one of them will let you kill a bunch of enemies with Desperado, letting you easily get tokens. When you have a decent amount of tokens and/or crowbars, you'll also be oneshotting the elites, getting perma up-time desperado and gaining a lot of stacks.
yes
Man, I got distracted by how well this was made and had to rewind it 30 seconds. Like, wow. This is better than any official guide or tutorial any games company could hope to produce. You really killed it while keeping it entertaining, short, and above all: informative.
it's just information you find in the game. Idk what you are talking about. It's extremely basic you can discover most of this in within the first couple hours of gameplay
@@greg1569people are weird bro, youtube comment sections are just filled with people praising creators for normal videos
Which heresy item?
@@williammagsambol2143 hooks of heresy, it replaces your second skill with an orb that you charge and shoot, wooly mentioned it in one of his recent videos
I love how his alt skin is a direct reference to the main enemy in Deadbolt, Ibzan :D
I always loved risk of rain 2 but bandit alone made it my absolute favourite game to play everyday now
I like Woolies "i made a bad joke/pun - hihi" it's so cute lmao
so not mentioned in the video is an interesting way to play bandit by getting a few purity you can basically permanently stay cloaked and be untargetable, you can even cancel your cloak with another cloak making you an untargetable splash damage machine.
What does purity do for bandit smoke bomb?
@@MICROKNIGHT3000 lowers cooldown by 2 seconds
@@MICROKNIGHT3000 cuts cooldowns in half so with a stack of 3 you can infinitely cast it.
yee and you can perma fly with cloak spam and if you stack 100% crit and 1 mag you can spam out hemorrhage stacks so fast. definitely my favorite way to play him
I had a multiplayer run where I got a purity and alien head to get perma stealthed.
-the 10% is multiplicative, not additive, meaning 10 stacks of desperato deals DOUBLE your 600% damage, not 700%. and 30 stacks means quadruple that 600% damage, this is why both bands are insane in this dude, but especially with desperato
-if you manage to get a brilliant behemoth, the explosion from the behemoth also counts as desperato kills, meaning, if you black hole 8 beatles and one-shot them with BB, you'll get 8 stacks of desperato, this might with with ukelele but I havent tested it yet.
-one commenter already said this, but 1/2 crowbars is more than enough to get your stacks going, especially against beatles and elite wisps
-has much less range than his M1 rifle, you cannot reach sky meadows monsters till you get a bit close enough to them
-get purity and this becomes your main source of damage
Woolie: Gives overview on all bandit skills
Me: But which is betterrrrr?
Lights out is devastating when chaining stealth executions. The ranged dagger is just better than the melee. The single rifle does "less damage" but you don't miss pellets, it's 100% accurate, and it gives waaaaay better procs. Rifle all the way.
Edit: also, you can fly if you time your stealth jumps right chaining lights out. Just get a crowbar or a bunch of wisps
@@erinbarr762 shotgun gang
@@erinbarr762 i mean the proc coefficient may be 0.5 but if you combine all five pellets it reaches something like 0.97 which is extremely close to the rifle. Plus the shotgun works better when you cap things since you’re looking at 40 health per shot vs 8 with the scythe as an example
@@thatguyyouhate3743 and that 0.5 per pellet demolishes the other one with one clover throw in the mix. Also more total damage in general, is true you are sacrificing the range, but up close the shotgun is the strongest. So they work as their gun type sugest.
Neither. Play your preferences
Also don't forget that smokebomb is also triggered by backstab, which can make the 200% x 2 attack instead be 400% x 2.
yes i have been so strong that I meant to backstab an enemy but I ended up killing them with the smoke bomb and not the R.
hell yeah. my favorite part of bandit is running up to a group of wisps, using smoke bomb to double jump, and then combo-ing revolver --> cooldown rest --> double jump.
There is a red item that grands you two more charges and faster colddown for utility skill, man is insane, you can spam it, run away or anything you want since is literally versatile
ye, h, aw
Bandit with a hardlight afterburner is pretty much my father, as in practically invisible
nah but fr I love my dad
Tip for Light's Out: Hold down the "R" key when clearing wisps. Bandit will keep his revolver out and continue firing as long as you maintain the kill chain. This scales with attack speed. [I lean towards Desperado, but both are amazing]
ngl secondary actually becomes decent when you have 100% crit. stack it with backup mags, and/or a purity clover combo, and it becomes a lot more consistent.
still yeah depend a lot more on that primary skill and Lights Out/Desperado and use the stealth to bail outta bad positions or get into good ones.
You wanna hear some pog news:
Essence of Heresy "debuff" counts towards Death Mark (Im like 98% sure :v)
It does
I found the knife realy usefull at damaging and quickly killing a large number of small enemys around you thanks to its basicly AOE attack, Realy good swarm killer.
I find that bringing 3 purities and desparato is a really fun build on bandit. Of course, you say goodbye to proc chance, but you get so much damage from desparato that it eventually doesnt matter.
ALSO unsurprisingly Bandolier synergies well with Bandit, while running Lights Out. It's basically guaranteed unlimited skills!
Are you gonna do a guide on the heretic?
I really like the hemmorhage (I don't think I ever wrote that word ever) because it's more of a addition to the bandit rather than an actual attack. Something to use when things are on cooldown and behind the monsters anyway so why not just give a nice slice and dice and bleed them out. Slowly.
How to play Bandit
Step 1: Finish Red Dead Redemption 2
Step 2: Pick Bandit
Step 3: Channel your inner Arthur Morgan
Step 4: OUTTA THE DAMN WAY
Always get blade of heresy when on bandit. Such a step up from his normal secondary.
Love the video and the tips, It will be fun if you show the trick "Shift R (killing) shift R (killing) shift R (killing) etc.. and beyond
man if I come to youtube for information I kind of already know these basics.
Smokebomb not up all the time
Might i introduce you to Purity
Who needs proc chance when you're all the damage you need
"That way you can easily get behind them and dump your load" don't know if intentional or not but that was hilarious to hear
Nice video YEP
Really big bandit tip!
Hardlight afterburner gives you near infinite invisibility if you dont break the invisibility early with 3 charges of your shift for those sticky situations!!!!
Get 3 purities with Shaped Glass on Desperado. You have a One shot .5 sec cooldown ability that gets stronger with each kill. Add in Bands, Crowbars and you won't mind the - luck as you're not bothering with on hit. 10x crit glasses is 100% for even more doubled damage.
Especially since while the bands are "on hit" they aren't random procs, it's just hit hard enough and it procs so Purity has no effect on it.
Fun tidbit, Bandit's mastery skin looks to be based off of Ibzan from Deadbolt
Your videos make this game so much simpler. Also enjoy the streams always so much fun. :)
I’m still annoyed that this only released on pc and not on console😡
I've always found the M2 to be useful in clearing swarms of small enemies/fodder that build up around you while fighting bosses, since it's the Bandit's only real splash damage attack. (this is particularly useful when utilizing Blast over Burst)
"get behind and dumb your load" XDXDXD
Hardline afterburner is OP on bandit lol.
Praying for sniper to be the next survivor
Not that i think sniper would be bad, but i would like to see a more supernatural character tbh
@@willdc64 I'd like if you would cooperate and say you would LOVE to see the sniper back and pray for us sniper players. Thank you for your contribution 🤣

a sniper character in a 3d environment doesnt sound as good as the one in ror 1
@@alecu5885 it does sound good, but it's not easy to implement. They did incredible job with the bandit revolver AND they also are aware of the sniper mods
So that's a problem from the past (they talked exactly the way you talked, which is a good concern indeed)
He said YEEEE and I cannot stress this enough HAWWWWW
purity x3 with desparado is basically a guaranteed win if ur not going for loops, especially since it's so easy to stack it up before the mithrix fight and then just spam a 3000% damage ability every half second
Nice made the character guide on my birthday
But Woolie, You have glanced over the 5 purity build with Desperado: Infinite flight/Stealth with SmokeBomb and ramping dmg over the stage.
I also throw in a few shaped glass, and easily One-Shot Mithrix in all three phases back to back in that fight.
Bandit's backstab is literally this game's version of the "Nothing personal, kid" meme.
I desperately need someone to make a bandit montage with the "you've been backstabbed in the wrong neighborhood" tf2-song
When does it release for console
How do I unlock Bandit?
I had a lot of success with Purity/Brainstalks + Desperado. Weird that you didn't mention those.
Bandit is my current favorite survivor, I can't wait to see what's in the dlc and the next update!
Nice! I just searched for a guide on bandit bc I have no idea how to do well with him. You're the best content Ror2 content creator Woolie!
yo brain stalks and desperado
My friend likes to use desperado and get 3 puritys so the cooldown is nearly instant and you could one shot bosses by the end of the stage
Purity Desperado is a lot of fun
Bandz On Bandito Is Krazy
5:17 You can what🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
I've never been this early.
Are you going to make an updated tier list including the two new characters?
Resetting your CD with your revolver, also reloads your gun. You can max dps this way.
Heretic guide when? 😳
desperado gang

Using lights out allows you to fly if you do this:
- Use a smoke bomb mid-air
- Cancel it with lights out
- Kill an enemy with it to reset your cooldowns
- Repeat
It mostly works on stages like wetland aspect which has a lot of low health enemies that you can one-shot easily (Especially the jellyfish)
Epic bandit moment
The cool down on his utility is so damn short it'd be stupid not to abuse it.
I fucking hate playing this character, he’s my favorite.
Yo! What mic are you using? I dig the quality. Thanks!
Thank you for making guides that get right to the point and are succinct in explanation!
Just going to point out that Hemorrhage does more damage per second than bleed
Hemorrhage: 2000% per 15 = 2000/15 = 133%
Bleed: 240% per 3 = 240/3 = 80%
Hemorrhage does 60% more than bleed, and you can double it every 2 seconds (0.5 if you have a SINGLE purity). I very much think this is by far one of the strongest parts of Bandit's kit
Playing Bandit reminds me of Dark Souls 1 pvp
BACKSTABBACKSTABBACKSTAB
