    Greatest producer to have ever lived, and he was an underrated rapper as well. It's almost funny and ironic, I knew who he was before he passed and listened to his music without knowing it was him (some rough draft songs), I didn't truly discover with him until after his death. I wish I could have seen him in concert.

      For real people always look at you funny when you say Dilla was underrated as a rapper but dude could flow to a beat in ways you'd never think to. His verse on Untitled/Fantastic for example

    • @b-north
      @b-north 7 лет назад +2

      yes and for this reason untitled/fantastic is my favorite hip-hop song of all time ... if j-dilla was making beats who do you think can rap on it in the best way he would want ...

    Dilla is the reason I keep my snares off beat and smacking, regardless if a purely mainstream fan thinks it's too loud. His work changed the way I do my basslines, too. 😁

    It was like Christmas when someone came to the Hip Hop Shop in Detroit with a Dilla beat tape. So much inspiration in every beat.

      They worked together on his album “Quality" and J Dilla’s “Jaylib” he did with Madlib.

    • @4hunnid5thecentralspot10
      @4hunnid5thecentralspot10 Год назад

      Naw, Dilla did a couple of songs for Black Star(Little Brother, (they had to steal that beat from Dilla), and History), besides that and the one Jaylib, I didn't hear Talib really rocking to Dilla like that, but may have been rocking with each other tough, It's a picture and a clip of the two kickin it with Q-Tip at the Soulquarians photo shoot. Dilla mention EVERYBODY that he rocked with, even Kweli on the outro song ONE on Welcome to Detroit. I'm not too fond of Talib, but my man did not just jump on the bandwagon, Dilla was his homie in the flesh.
