Sergey Lazarev has a very powerful voice and he performed Russia twice but unfortunately only 3rd places. For me this was my winning song in that year but you know and he deserved to win. He is one of my favorite singers who performed in Eurovision Song Contest.

Katrina from the group Katrina and the waves, gained Eurovision in 1997 and she is American (based in the UK).
I am sure I am forgetting someone else but there must be more Americans in the list.
Tricks of magic have been done, and quick changes of outfits as well. I remember the Norwegian entry "ven a bailar conmigo" from 2007, the singer had three changes of dress while dancing.
there were other americans but Katrina was the only one winning in my memory (Dave Benton is from Aruba in American Continent but not in US)
Eurovision is one big party. People are getting together listening to the different countries competitions, analyzing everything starting months before. Hosting city will have events and parties going on and there will be special ESC parties in several European cities before the ESC week where the artists perform and promote the song. No tail gate party in the sence of Super Bowl but plenty of parties all around the hosting city and with fans all around the world.
That song is terrible. Cheezy. Technically stageing was ok.

It perfectly captures what Eurovision is all about. It was the Interval Act at the Grand Final of 2015 I believe. So not really a competing song but more of a comedic song about Eurovision. It's peak. Trust me!

They should check out Måns Zelmerlöw - Heroes winner 2015. Cool stage/effects. Not a fan of the song though😅
You won't see the bridges and runway used in the performance selected by Randy. If you want to see this you'll have to add another day. For example spirit in the sky by KEiiNO makes use of the whole stage and is a really cool performance. They were the most popular song in the televoting.

If you wanna see an American in Eurovision check out Senhit with Adrenalina. Flo Rida is part of it. I think you can safely check it out on your own because I highly doubt it will be requested in one of the Eurovision lists ;)
Spain utilized the pit in 2019, this was also the stage where the Eurovision movie was filmed on.
You need to check out Stefania Last dance from 2021, Its a crazy illusion performance too

Of course artists utilize the other parts of the stage! It's Randy's choices that are bad.... you should check out much cooler entries from 2019 like Norway, Australia, Iceland
Katrina from Katrina and the Waves won as the lead singer for the United Kingdom in 1997. So, technically, an American has won Eurovision. As has a Canadian (Celine Dion 1988)
If you want some Eurovision magic, check out Ireland's representative for this year - Bambie Thug. They're a pagan witch and their song is basically a hex and the teasers we've seen from their performance for next week look nothing short of spellbounding (and there's also rumours of an outfit change so it really has everything you're asking for). 🤩🇮🇪

This song and the whole staging just scream "please please let me win!" I was honestly a bit embarassed while watching...Lazarev tried the second time in this competition. First time he was 2nd place, Ukraine won (really painful as a Russian 😂)
You're actually not correct on his first appearance placing. He finished third behind Jamala (Ukraine) and Dami Im (Australia).

And noone remembers Jamala' song. The only unique ukrainian, not boring, entry was was in 2011 with Verka.

@@ОксанаВісинаhe actually did speak against war when it’s all started so i don’t think so. but he lives in russia, his children live in russia, his mother lives in russia and it’s kinda like not speaking positively about things that’s are going on pretty much means that you’re against it which is kinda illegal nowadays here and government start to question you. so he had to at some point. i haven’t seen him taking part in big events tho.
also you can watch his music video for the song ‘так красиво’ (tak krasivo/it’s so beautiful). it was deleted from his official youtube channel due to new russian laws but you can still find it on other channels. i think it speaks a lot.

@@ОксанаВісина вы не можете рассуждать за другого человека. да, сергей остался в россии. да, он был против всего этого, но! когда на кону все то, что ты имеешь (в том числе и жизни твоих близких), ты можешь быть сломлен обстоятельствами. сергей работает на себя, без продюсера и прочего. все расходы из своего кармана. также у него двое детей. да и насчет его ориентации много вопросов, что теперь уже и уголовно наказуемо. мы не можем знать чем его так запугали или что у него щелкнуло, что он вдруг вышел на концерт с пропа**ндонами. но против войны он был изначально. если такая пляска, я тоже так же могу додумать за вас и спросить: где вы, все украинцы, были в 2014 году, когда все это начиналось? или ваша "хата была с краю"? вы тоже могли остановить все это! где вы были, когда крым присоединяли к россии? это же ваша страна, почему вы позволили путлеру забрать это у вас? как только все вышло из под контроля, вы начали всех без разбору инфантильно винить и поливать говном, в том числе и простых россиян, которые тоже вообще-то против всего этого ужаса! во всяком случае, тут обе стороны виноваты!
