@@emdarkinfinity I must give you my greatest apology. I never meant it to go this far. When I started these shenanigans, I imagined nothing of such a serious matter. Old overworld generation and new caves is just perfect
i dont like the new caves, they are pretty big and easy to die or get lost
@Homer thats why I play the Minecraft 3ds and never play the pc version
@Homer hard disagree bra, just started playing again and its so fucking easy to find diamonds just get a fortune enchantment and just explore the deep caves
@@1trie skill issue
@@ChoofedDogg I'm saying about world generation and you are saying about skill
It would be fun if Mojang added the Skyland's as an Easter egg or something.
That would be so cool
There is a world gen type that can do that
Technically that is possible
*MOBS OF THE „UNDEAD“ TYPE ARE STRONGER IN THIS ZONE*

I love the resurgance of old Minecraft videos, I have been playing old versions for years and I don't feel like coming back to the new versions, but it feels good that newer people can experience that Zen feel the OG versions had.
@@freebiedoesupscalesWe can have opinions too. In my opinion, Minecraft used to be simple and fun, but now it’s too overpowered. We aren’t “stubborn” we just like older versions of Minecraft.
@@freebiedoesupscales I agree both sides won’t shut up about it sometimes.
@@freebiedoesupscales I like playing vanilla on new versions infinitely more, but when it comes to modded, we all know 1.12.2 takes the cake.
@@onefinelad6263 1.12.2 and 1.7.10 always on top. Wish people still made mods for these versions
@@church7811 people do still make mods for those versions, those are the number one most modded versions rn
Thank you for using Golden Days in this video, I really appreciate it. If you want a more accurate beta look, make sure you put Programmer Art underneath Golden Days. :)
Another great mod to get a beta visual style is the Nostalgic Tweaks mod by Adrenix! There's a great community around beta-inspired Modern Minecraft and I'm glad to be a part of it.
thank you for making the resource pack
HEYO POETIC
I did not expect for the PE generation to be so spot on, and so good at extending the world to the modern size. A classic seed that people used for a flat(ish) world was "magicman" and I built a massive kingdom across the whole map back in the day
The terrain limitation was purely for performance reasons. The actual generator can generate terrain beyond the old world size without any issues without that restriction.
@@_shadow_1 But the fact that the old seeds seemlessly transition into new terrain is very impressive
It would be cool to see "nyan" or "jpgaming." I loved my "jpgaming" world. I had a one that I made earlier, but unfortunately I accidentally deleted it and had to restore it from my brothers copy and it wasn't nearly as good -- I can't remember the seed for that, I think it was randomly generated.
i do wonder what infamous floating island seed "its a pig" would also look like with this
@@albertoftasmania I just so happened to test both of those worlds out, they are both the same, but jpgaming doesnt have the diamonds under spawn, and nyan does not have the lava fall, unfortunately. Everything else, though, is the same
Its so weird that something as simple as a texture pack is enough to zap me back into how i felt as a kid, waiting for school to end so i could go play minecraft with my friends.
I wish this mod could have both exist at the same time. I miss the old generation and the signature look of its mountains, hills, cliffs, and floating islands. But also the new mountains and caves can be beautiful too. I would love to see the old mountains next to the new ones, or on the same scale as the new ones. Blending the generation types to use both at the same time rather than the new blocks and biomes in the old style would have been cool.
Gotta put a jumpscare warning for the old gravel texture. It both gave me nostalgia and made me grimace
back then when everyone was starting to hate gravel more and more, I remember using it is a building block (for paths) and starting to fall in love with it. gravel beaches were featured of my first two houses I'd ever built in minecraft too. a bit further on, I had installed this now long-outdated texture pack that had a really nice texture for it too, that only made me love it more. great times
It’s simple, but so much better than the new texture.
It actually looks like a cubix metre of gravel, unlike the current texture which is... Cobblestone mixed with gray mud/clay...?
Awesome video, I’ve been waiting a long time to see modern beta go to 1.19 and glad to finally see it here!
You should cover nostalgia tweaks 2.0 whenever that comes out
that will be so awesome when that gets released!
same, i hope modern beta will get an update at least for 1.20
I honestly couldn't wait for 2.0 and decided to compile a development build from source lol, it's got many toggleable gameplay features so it's no longer just an aesthetics mod
@@brineeggliang5460 wow whats it called
"If you have nostalgic feelings for Gargamel" is a sentence that could work out of this video's context because he probably has many fans out there lmao
I just wish that there was an option to add EVERY biome to a world with the possibility of the different terrain generations working together
minecraft if notch never sold minecraft
This could actually bring me back to Minecraft. I used to play a lot, about 8-10 years ago.
Now when i load up the newest update i have no idea what to do because the game is completely different and much more complicated.
The game really hasn't added much that changes the core aspects of Minecraft. Unless you never reached V1 because you disliked hunger, it's basically the same game with more features. I'm pretty sure you could get through the game without knowing most of the new features. Then slowly learn the new features with Google or RUclips features. This shouldn't change enough to bring someone back, literalyl makes zero sense and I'm an Alpha Player. xD
The game looks different but that’s all, nothing new or special compared to old Minecraft
@@illpunchyouintheface9094Well, the Nether and the Ocean were overhauled, but it's fairly easy to learn as you go, with the occasional Google search (just like Alpha Minecraft).
It's still possible to play the beta and alpha versions.
This video really made me realize how much we lost with the introduction of new terrain generation. I completely forgot about all of these seeds.. But the moment you said any of them, memories came flooding back. This is such an awesome mod.
Oh man.. taking me back to my first-ever morning in Minecraft. This was in Alpha before they removed snow. I remember just digging into the stone with a rose and getting mauled by a zombie since the door was glitched due to the strange pressure plate mechanics back in the day. Good times.
This is awesome. I love the fact that you can customize it so much.
i love modern beta, thanks for bringing more awareness on youtube to it! i always felt alone with my weird way of playing retro-modern minecraft
you're not alone!
I cant thank you enough for showing us all this
Thank you for enlightening us about this mod omg
This is one of my favorite Minecraft videos of all time.
Thank you for showing this mod it really helps with some youtuber series concepts I had, and is gonna make a lot of things easier.
honestly, i've always wondered why minecraft felt so off until i started playing modded 1.12
and i realized, the classic minecraft just.. feels better. even when modded
I remember being so excited for the Beta 1.8 Adventure Update but then there was a creeping sense of disappointment when I started exploring the new terrain generation. It was a lot more bland compared to the crazy stuff you could find in Beta 1.7.3 and earlier. As I played I started missing those old landscapes more and more.
256x256 LETSS GOOO! XBOX 360 NOSTALGIA!
Xbox 360 worlds were 864x864
One thing that would be cool is if you could toggle on old caves. That way you can completely replicate the old style. Then, if that only applied above Y 0, then you could still have the new caves at the bottom part of the world so you can still get ancient cities
You can do this, actually. Disable noise caves and noddle caves in your setting when making a world.
Glacier was my favourite seed and ive never felt more like dicaprio pointing at the TV "there- right there is where my house was!" lol thanks
This is absolutely exactly what I have been looking for, thank you so much!
Thank you for talking about these mods. All I ever find are the most popular ones from mod packs or from other stuff but seeing mods like this is pretty cool. I so want to find cool mods like I used to find back in the golden age on the minecraft forums and PMC.
Reindev got me to check this video out after seeing Dahomey's vid awhile back. Honestly im convinced on using the mod to make a server for my bedrock friends while i got it running on java. Hopefully it works with the cross platform mod but im still looking into it. Ive been a long time player since i first got into beta 1.6.6 and i feel so much nostalgia for the brief period before they changed terrain generation.
The nostalgia is crazy
This is so beautiful. I think this is the kind of thing that could really get me back into the game. This is such a brilliant mod.
Yooooo this is sick, even the recent blocks have their supposed old/beta texture.
You're sooooo underrated, keep going man! Really high quality content from someone with 5000 subs, you'll make it there! Don't give up
This is everything I wanted
I would finally enjoy minecraft again with this mod
This is so cool! Gotta try it out when I get home
I love this already! If only we had biomespheres as option too
i never actually played beta, but my first exposure to minecraft was a series that took place sometime before beta 1.8 (no hunger n stuff), so i do have a little bit of nostalgia. imagine my surprise getting minecraft and getting a way updated version of the game compared to what i saw. i was a little surprised lol.
omg the Golden Days texture pack is everything I’ve ever dreamed of for a classic style texture pack for Minecraft, that isn’t even what the vid is about but thanks for introducing me to what is no doubt gonna be my main textures for survival from now on
This is somewhat known but deepslate used to be called grimstone if I recall. Hopefully a rename mod or something occurs. Which attempts to change some of the names to their beta counterpart.
Aside that seeing modern minecraft combined with beta while looks weird and probably odd to adjust to, yet familiar in so many ways as I it never left but rather evolved.
Modern Beta really is a brilliant mod. Just a bit disappointed that the recent update removed a bunch of features, such as the option to have modern biomes with old generation and the option to have modern caves. Also they removed the in-game world customisation GUI in favour of datapacks, which I don't think was a very user-friendly idea. Still, like I said, a very good mod.
Edit: The new version of the mod seems to have reintroduced the in-game GUI, which is great!
Edit 2: The Voronoi biome generator type now has all the vanilla biomes by default, meaning you can play with the beta generation and modern biomes once more! Still waiting for the option for noise caves though.
please go down this rabbit hole more.
This is such a cool mod! I cant even begin to imagine the time the developers put into all thsi
this is a dream come true.. So long... I'm in tears!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIIISS
This is great, now I just gotta find that old minecraft pocket edition seed where you spawn in front of a HUGE cave.
I don't remember the seed but you spawn in front of a huge cave that you can go through to the otherside, lava and water is flowing, a little hole on top of the cave to shed some light, it was amazing.
Try Nostalgic Tweaks as it is updated for the latest versions and contains way more tweaks to bring back the old appearance and gameplay of the Release era, Beta, Alpha, Infdev, Indev and Classic. Practically it has everything but custom World Generation
There was a setting to generate the heaven world I think it was called Floating Islands. But I I'm pretty sure it was removed when they increased the world height in the mountains update. If you try 1.17 I think it will work.
one of my absolute favorite seeds back then was "AcE". it spawned you in a village with two blacksmiths next to each other and was my go to for a lot of my older worlds
This is really cool, great video Ryan
For someone who joined back in beta, this blew me away. In awe rn.
This is such a cool mod! I'll be using it at some point, for sure! ^^
As an alternative to the custom fog mod, there's also "Fog Looks Good Now" which is in 1.19.2!
This mod i always dreamed of, but didn't know how it didn't exist, great that it now does!
I would love to see some crazy seeds with shaders and the distant horizons mods that let you see beyond chunk limits using LOD
This is amazing, definitely going to download this and play my old PE world seed: 0.4.0 I think
Seeing the terrain generation as a plugin for servers seems like an interesting idea to me.
thats exactly what i was looking for from a long time and i finally found it
This video, this video made you a new subscriber and a like. This is something I didn't knew a wanted and needed. And here it is, in all its glory
found this channel 2 weeks ago and i love your videos and its amazing to see how fast this channel grows, keep up the content the quality is amazing!
I appreciate you so much. so much to come!
This is amazing. Definately gonna mess around with this.
You sold me with gargamel seed. I had completely forgot about that seed. My brothers and I had a map with that seed it was the first time i made a redstone contraption
Hi again, I practically have been binge watching all the videos they’re so good keep it up
I wish I still had some of my old seeds. I used to write them down when I found a good one, but they were lost when my old computer died. There was one world I had where I built my house in a valley and it turned out I had randomly built my house right above a stronghold.
How did your old PC die? If you still have it and the hard drive is still good, it is recoverable.
Reminds me of Better World Generation 4, which added a bunch of options too, but I don't think post 1.7.10 it has been updated, so other omds have been taking the spot.
5:27 To complete the experience, I recommend playing from the fog on this seed
Wow, never knew about this. Hope it's still working. Would love to do my 1.7.3 sp world with this
This is super cool, wanna set up a server running this now
0:25 Damn, even after all this time it only takes me 1 second to recognize the classic Glacier seed. Many a worlds played on that seed, many a worlds.
omg a mod like this is literally exactly what i was looking for
I use this mod with alpha textures and a shader that mimics old minecraft's rendering. (Like the pixelated and grainy look in the distance) it's great!
Nice. The only things I would like to bring from the old versions are dark for when being near bedrock and the Farlands, which I hadn't ever seen myself. And for this mod... I'd like to mix old, new and Biomes o' Plenty biomes, especially with large biomes option.
I have this mod installed for 1.12.2! I am a og Minecraft player from 2011 and this mod brings you back in time!!
As soon as I saw this mod for 1.18.2 Fabric I knew I've found my home. Downloaded a boatload of other vanilla enhancement mods and Beta style tweaks, fired up 404 and for the first time in a decade was able to experience actual fear playing the game underground, surrounded by monsters.
thx for the showcase
Thanks for showing me this mod
Just mixing everything together just seems nice
I have to try this mod. The insane amount of nostalgia I'll get from playing classic mcpe seeds
This is awesome. Brings back memories of pocket edition with limited world size. It feels like it should be in minecraft but I know mojang will never do that. Gonna play this with a zombie apocalypse mod if there was one out by now or the From the fog mod that adds herobrine In the game.
I need a play through of this
You should play the mod Better than adventure its the same kind of mod that adds stuff to beta
now that i have java for 3 months now, i can finnaly check out the mod!
the amount of nostalgia in this video i ve been playing minecraft for 10 years
wow being able to generate old seeds in new versions easily is so epic
I also like adding an alpha texture resource pack on top of these.
I wish i'd knew the seed to my first world. Glacier alone nearly brought me to tears seeing it in this video.
6:00 this would be an AWESOM lets play
The nostalgia, it hit hard
Skylands was in the game but removed in 1.18, it was called "Floating Islands"
This mod looks incredible!:D
already love the mod
Great mod and video
That's really cool!
8:08 i feel so bad for that lonely chicken,
i started playing minecraft in 2009, so thank you for this awesome video
one time i had a world that had a cliff overhanging, i setup a city on top and made the overhanging part into a cage cause it was connected to an ocean
absolutely insane. old world generation like the actual terrain and farlands was wayyy better than now. thank u form aking this video. also, what about the sky? classic sky colour?
this is so sick!
THATS AWESOME
Minecraft should stop trying to make everything so polished, perfect, and clean. The charm of old minecraft was that you wouldn't know what to expect.
This mod looks really cool
I remember old school sand flat worlds, where there would spawn crazy mineshafts all over above ground
I knew this mod existed but not to the extent to which you explained, if I could play PE again would be so nostalgic! Thx for info my guy!
new caves be like: end of era classic caves.
