I just saw your video on the Patriot Campers page and absolutely loved that video. Enough so that I had to run over here and subscribe. We are not new to camping or offroad but we are new to "overlanding" and just ordered an X3. I'm looking forward to watching your channel
Wow! That’s awesome and we’re completely humbled! Thanks for watching and congrats on the @PatriotCampers X3! Sounds like your journey is about to begin! ;)
Don’t worry it took me two years to bite the bullet and drop the $$$$ for my Patriot X1 GT, best thing I ever did just luv it. Hope you enjoy the adventures to come. We have done many trips with young ones, brings back memories some good some not so good, although all good in the end. Ticks 🤮. Looking forward to further videos, cheers.
Well done!!! Just love how you’ve documented these precious family moments and are sharing them with us!!! Love you all and I can’t wait for the next one!!!
Right when I heard "Remote for the Tent" I was like, Oh Hell No! The whole point of a Hard Shell is that they pop up so quickly. Don't complicate things with a remote and electric on things that you don't it on, Patriot... Hope you offer some without it. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Texas! Home of the Commando/Para-jumping Ticks!! 😳😳😬😬 Crazy!
Yeah, the ticks were tiny terrors for sure! We’ve had to change batteries on the remotes once, and there’s a button as a backup, but have had no issues with the hardtop actuators in four years of ownership. @PatriotCampers has gone all in on the hardtops and just announced their Gen2 lineup. They do have the X1-N model if you wanted to kit it out with your own manual tent. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy our newer videos too :)
The canvas is pretty heavy duty and durable. Combined with a Mr Buddy heater, we’ve stayed quite toasty on nights that dipped below freezing. But the water system would need to be winterized/purged before extended periods in sub-freezing temps to prevent damage.
We will be picking our X1 up in May from same dealer. I noticed you had some locks for some latches. Something I’ve been concerned about. Does it come with them or if not do you recommend any? Thanks
Locks don’t come with it. We made a quick trip to pick up a small set for the doors and a larger one for the tire carrier. Never had any issues but like to keep honest people honest. Hope you have as much fun with yours as we have with ours!
DENIED 😆. Great video guys. My wife and I placed our order 3 days ago and won't get our X3 until 8/2022...nuts. Anyways, picking up in August I'm thinking stupid hot. Any suggestions to stay cool (other than hotel AC)? We are total newbies and I'm the princess on the pea. Thanks
Thank you, thanks for watching and welcome to the #patriotlife !!! We’ve found that a battery powered worksite fan (we have a Kobalt) can be flipped upside down and hung by the hangers. One large lithium can last for a few days normally (depending on fan speed) and circulates air really well inside. We also use a Kobalt impact wrench, so the batteries are interchangeable. That’s what we’ve since learned to help beat the heat.
How does the Jeep do with pulling that trailer down the road? I was looking at them and they are getting kinda close to too heavy according to the "manual" but what's it like real-world? The video looks like it does pretty well.
So the trailer is roughly 2200 lbs dry with a 3500 lbs max rating. The ‘16 JKUR is rated 3500 lb Max towing. When fully loaded w/water... we’re at about 3200 lbs. Since the JKUR has 35s and heavy armor, I regeared to 4.88 gearing. It pulls fine. Don’t even notice it back there. Obviously you can feel the weight, but towing is smooth. When I have noticed is on long sustained steep mountain climbs... even though the Jeep has the power... it doesn’t have the cooling, so you can’t just power up a long climb on the highway.. That’s the only issue we’ve noticed.
@@SixOverland Gotcha. I am kinda in the same boat. 3.6 on 37's with 4.88 gears. Might have to look into a Hemi swap or a supercharger. Dunno if that would even help. LOL! Thanks for the quick reply!
Ticks are definitely no bueno. The camper is awesome, and no... not for sale, sorry. ;) We’re working on even more episodes... looks like we’ll be launching those sometime after the new year. Hope to see you there! Thanks for watching!
Thank you and appreciate the support! We’re working on our next series of videos now and should be announcing the debut date within the next few weeks! Thanks again and see you there!
These Patriot campers look like an awesome set up for a family! I would like to get one in a few years for adventures with my family. I’m looking at the X3 or the X1-H.
Each have their unique characteristics. We found that the X1H fits our style well with its various configurations. We haven’t seen the X3 up close yet, but it looks like a solid trailer as well. Best to you in your decision! We love ours!
Hey Dennis, from the drivers seat, upper left of the steering wheel is our 4x4 SPOD lighting/accessories controller. We also have mounted on the center console a cell phone mount and at the time we’re running a Magellan TRX7 navigation system. We’ve since replaced TRX7 with an iPad we use with GaiaGPS. Thanks for watching!
Love the series. Used do this kinda stuff years ago with an old original style bronco. Got out of it for a long time. Just ordered a new wrangler 392 two months ago. Gonna buy us a tiny overland trailer. And hit the road on our 14 days off a month. Gotta figure out how to do the whole video and you tube channel thing. Now on a totally different subject. In this video with the camera angle in the jeep facing you. You reminded us of Boris the animal off of men in black. Get some round glasses and the clothes and it would be a perfect Halloween costume.
That. Was. Awesome! Can’t wait to see the next one!

Thank you! New episode next Wednesday!
Trial by fire lol I bet you guys are pros now at closing it
Great video mate. I appreciate the effort and work that went into it. Cheers from Oz. 👍🏼
Thank you! Much appreciated. Cheers from up and over the deep blue 🍻
Amazing looking tent ⛺️
Love it!!! Battle of the ticks
Haha the joys of fatherhood you’ll always forget something
Exactly! 😆
Another hit!!!!
Super cool!
Thank you!
I'm playing catch-up but nice video Grant. I'm disappointed it only took 21 failed attempts to close the lid though haha 🤣.
Practice makes perfect 🤷♂️ lol. Thank you. Much appreciated! Hope you guys are well!
Curious how it would be in sub zero weather, looks great for moderate use

I like that camper!!!
It’s been a great investment so far!

@@SixOverland much appreciated
How much gear do you leave in the bedding? Pillows and blanket??
We leave pillows and sheets on the bed. We haven’t been successful with thick blankets though, so we store those separately. Thanks for watching!

I don’t believe that we are. Maybe we should be... 🤔
