Добавлен 20 май 2019
Thanks for joining us on Six Overland! We are an overlanding family venturing out to explore the American Southwest and beyond, searching for history, epic views, and nature’s beauty.
The “SIX” in Six Overland stands for our core pillars: FAITH, FAMILY, FREEDOM, FRIENDSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, and FUN. This is the foundation of our belief system, and the building blocks to a healthy family and lifestyle.
What started as a way to document our journeys for our daughter, has evolved into a channel that hopefully can inspire you to go beyond your boundaries and seek out adventure. You will see our authentic reactions to situations we encounter and honest opinions on gear we use. We also share tips and lessons learned so you can perhaps learn from our mistakes and mishaps, but more importantly our successes.
Subscribe and be a part of the Six Overland adventure family. We’re just getting started and our journey has just begun!
God bless!

Where We Began - Overlanding the Stanislaus National Forest to Corral Hollow
In this episode, we finally make it back into the Stanislaus National Forest and to the first campsite that Alicia and I ever camped at. But that's just the beginning to a story that's been years in the making. In this adventure, we travel over rough and rocky trails in search of solitude to spend time together as a family, with our new camp dog. We find ourselves and come face to face with our past while making a stop at Bear Trap Cabin. This was an emotional journey for us and a story that we weren't sure we should tell, but it's part of who we are and the catalyst for our overlanding lifestyle. Thanks for coming along with us on this epic journey that takes us through the Alabama Hills...

Great video 😊👍 and cool rig! Happy new year, God bless 🙂
Thank you and thanks for watching! God Bless and Happy New Year!
I’m curious why the small amount of snow turned you guys around?
@@rockerbailey95 it wasn’t a small amount of snow. There was more further up on a cliffside. Melting and possibly unstable. Unfamiliar with the trail. Not going to take that risk with our four year old with us. Not worth it just for Social Media glory. Thanks for watching!
I have a similar combo with the EB70 and it's great. I only use it from time to time, but I love it. During an outage, your fridge will last about 16 hours with a full charge. A normal-sized kitchen fridge with a freezer, not a camping one. That's basically what I bought it for.
That’s awesome! Good having backups. Thanks for watching!
"Why do we even take showers?" is the realest statement. No sooner do you feel clean, something inevitably comes along to just undo it almost immediately. 🤣 Glad to see you guys back out on the trail!
Right?!?! A never ending struggle while camping / overlanding. Thanks for watching!
My family and I really enjoy this camp spot on the ridge. We are gonna miss the close proximity from Angels Camp once we move back to SoCal.
Such a great spot. Thanks for watching and hope you’ll make it back there someday :)
Your mother and I cried🥲 Great video. Thank you!!!!♥
We love you both so much! ❤️ …We cried too… a lot ❤️🩹
I've been waiting for this video. Karly is very excited about you mentioning playing playing with Julisa. Thank you so much for mentioning us. We had a great time hanging out with you guys. Wow! Hearing the meaning behind your family being there is touching. May God continually bless your family
It was such a pleasure to meet you both! It was definitely a trip highlight for Julissa getting to spend time with an instant friend. 🥰 Thank you ❤️ … God has done mighty work in our family through this particular trauma. ❤️🩹 God bless and keep you and yours always.
Lovely❤
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great video. It made my wife and I remember a special trip on that trail. If you ever get a chance visit it in the spring. Great video. It brought back happy memories.
Thank you and thanks for the tip! We know we’ll be back to the area someday for sure :)
Thank you and God for this vidio. Y'all made me tear up a bit. I'm so glad that you can go back and relive what you need to. Beautiful family and dreams for your future.

Right back at you Bryan and Emily, God Bless!
I lived in that area for 20 years. Incredible trail and fun area. Hopefully, you ran Sour Grass and Deer Valley, too. Fun trail.
@@mtnmnchronicles this trip was specific to that trail… but Deer Valley is on our list. We’ve run SlickRock before… but not familiar with Sourgrass. See you at the Premiere!
You should check out the Gravelly Range drive in Montana sometime, start in Ennis, head south over a 2 wheel drive road that climbs to a bit above 9K with killer views, and come out in the Centennial Valley, and head west, back to I-15 eventually.
@@portnuefflyer We’ll have to put that route on our list! Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
What psi did you put tires to?
@@Cruising_With_Slack Typically we dropped to about 13 psi with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. We recently changed to BFG KO2s and burped the tires a few times at 13, so we’ll probably adjust a bit higher for these new tires.

What camera and lens were you using? Looks great!
Handheld/ground shots were on a Canon 90d. We’ve got a few Canon kit lenses that are our ‘go-to’ for video. I think we’ve got them listed on our Amazon link in description. Thanks for watching!.
great video. What drone are you using?
Thank you! We’re currently using a DJI Mavic Air2.
@@SixOverland The drone footage looks good. Keep it up!
@@PaulVang Thanks! Appreciate it!
It funny watching this as this is my backyard. The trails you ran aren't difficult at all. But you guys spotting each other through spots that my buddies and I just cruise through is a good reminder that everyone has different experiences that lead to different skill sets. The section at the tree was logged in 2021 and everyone was through fits over it. Forgetting that TSF is a working forest. The deep ruts on FB5 is now blocked by the way.
@@2009samr When you’ve got thousands more miles to go on a trip, there’s no room for a careless mistake or break that leaves you high and dry waiting for parts and a repair. Both of us have trails in our own backyards that we can cruise through as well. It’s all about knowing the terrain. Thanks for watching!
Met you guys out on the trail today. My little girl couldn't stop talking about playing with your daughter. Thanks for making our day on the trail that much better. You guys are great!
It was great getting a chance to visit with you! Julissa definitely appreciated the play time she got with your daughter, too! Hope to see you on the trail again one day! 😊
Where was that campsite with the stunning view over the river and mountains? Incredible! Would like to go there some day.

Very cool and informative video! Exceptionally well done!
Thank you and thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
Problem though, u can’t charge it driving down the road while charging other items from the unit. The Jackery you can . Other wise I would be sold
That’s not accurate. The 12v charger from the car uses the same port as the solar panels. Haven’t tried it while driving, but have charged items while using solar on the same input.
@@SixOverland I think it was confusion on my part on because of the Lithium - ion battery vs the newer LifePO4 battery that can accommodate that. Thanks, I ordered a Eco Flow River 2 with a 160w panel.
Beautiful by the white noisy water lol how serene But the bears would freak me. Thank god we only have Drop Bears here in Australia Thanks great vid
Yeah, but you Aussies have a lot of spiders and snakes that could render you lifeless. 😆 Black bears generally don’t bother us. It’s the Grizzly that I’d rather not meet by accident. Thanks for watching!

Great video!! Does that trail still look the same??
@@swp1604 Thank you! And no… unfortunately that trail was consumed by a recent wildfire and will likely take years to recover :( Glad we were able to explore it beforehand.

Beautiful, a what a wonderful experience especially for your daughter. I don't want to burst your bubble but you kinda missed the lost coast. You drove right past the synkone (I'm sure that I didn't spell that correctly) Wilderness area of Bear Harbor and Jackass creek
We actually did stop there, but didn’t film. We missed the elk herd and were on a timeline to get to our next stop. Next time we’re in the area we know to set more time aside to document it properly. Thanks for watching!

Ok video just wish there was more trails and natural ones that you just find as you drive. Miss how Oregon was before they closed all the forests and made it so you can only go on the trails they make. Hope I e day Oregon will be was it was .

AMAZON just delivered my 25'' GCI folding table. Its nice. I chose it over the 20" because i wanted the extra space. ✌ 🇺🇸
That’s awesome! Quality product. Enjoy and thanks for watching! :)
Not sure which drone batteries you are charging in the video, and maybe you’ve come to know this since you posted the video, but in case you aren’t aware I comment anyway. If they are DJI Mini batteries you should be able to charge them through the 100w USB-C port which will charge them up much faster than AC charger.
Yeah, we realized just afterward, but I wasn’t going to shoot the whole segment again. lol. Thanks for watching!

I'm about 6 hours away from the campground at the beginning of the video. The trail that you took is on BLM land and can you camp along it? Seems that little info is available about camping in the area. I'll stay at the campground a couple of nights, but I hate to pay for camping.
@@Shawn2ndaccount Unsure about camping but it looked like there could be a few good spots. We chose the campground as a ‘sure bet’ driving in from a distance. I’d check with BLM. Thanks for watching!
@SixOverland Yeah I'll check with BLM. Office not to far from james Kipp cg. Tyvm
So overlanding is basically what some people still call driving right?
@@meghancass3187 That’s a part of it for sure. Vehicle dependent off-grid and off-road travel.
