Thanks good information .I have no internet in my shop. Question how do you updated the onefinity software?. What software do you use for designing. Thanks
Hi Dustin. Great share mate. I just have a question. I also want to change the onefinity monitor. The monitor that comes with machine has hdmi and usb-c connected to the controller. What is the purpose of the usb-c? Have you connected your new monitor the same way? Thanks.
I did this the first time and it worked great. I turned power off to the shop and now my.computer refuses to pull up the page, it'll connect to the 1F DNS but won't pull up the controller page 😢
You should check in with range extenders They are easy to setup. or a 2nd compatible router that you can turn off DHCP can act as a range extender as well. I had to do this to get wifi range to my garage. I just think your turning off to many features of the onefinity by doing this setup. But i use the remote stuff alot
Thanks. I’m familiar with range extenders and access points. I have no interest in adding/changing any additional router equipment at this time. I don’t run my machine remotely while I’m away or have the need to be able to access the internet whilst running a job on the CNC. This works for me and I posted it so others who might have similar situations, remote shops without WiFi, etc, can use their machines in different ways.
@@bustindustin123 I know for myself a pro/con list tells me not to do it. lost remote file management (you really think people use remote to start the machine?) no we (at lest I)use remote to upload/download manage the files/gcode manage the file library with in the onefinity also your losing the ability to check for fw updates from the machine. so your still going to be using a USB drive for updates. some phones can make access points this can work as well. Just as you dont want to add any routers or access points. A lot of us dont want to spend the money on a larger touch screen to do file management on. Im just giving other options that does not loose features of the machine.
Cool, man... You don’t lose remote capability to send files to your machine by using it as an access point. You’re directly connected to the machine instead of using your home WiFi network. I “remotely” transfer my gcode files to the machine from my laptop without any usb cords or thumb drives. It’s LITERALLY the same connection, the only downside is that I cannot freely use my internet connection to reply to your RUclips comments whilst connected as an access point. It’s not important to me, just like it MIGHT not be important to others. People use remote from their laptops to start their machines all the time since some of us have larger fingers and the 7” touch screen wasn’t really conducive to our sausage fingers trying to hit the tiny button. As far as firmware, sure you might have to use a USB drive but several people PREFER it that way as to reduce the possibility of the file download being interrupted and the checksum numbers being off. This is a tutorial on how to use some built in features of their machines and it’s not for everyone. Bottom line, use it or don’t. Doesn’t hurt to show people different ways to utilize their equipment
I got lucky with the monitor unfortunately. The guy had 4 and was selling them for ridiculously cheap. I even bought a few of them and shipped them to fellow 1F owners
Your computer will say no internet since you’re connecting DIRECTLY to the machine. Does typing onefinity.local or onefinity.local open the browser to the control page?
Wow that really helps! Thank you so much
Uhhh, nice shirt. You have very good taste in music.
Thanks for sharing. I’m in the same boat with no WiFi in my shop.
great 👍 I am all set. thank you brother

Dell P2314T 23" LED LCD Touchscreen Monitor

The purpose is for the touch screen capability to work.
If your PC or laptop has an ethernet port as well as Wi-Fi you can connect the Wi-Fi to the 1F and connect the hardwire ethernet port to the internet.
Thank you
