Great video Dustin. One question though.... How come you didn't have to touch the probe to the bit before starting the probe sequence?
That was an added feature after this video was made. They put it in as a safety measure.
I did this the first time and it worked great. I turned power off to the shop and now my.computer refuses to pull up the page, it'll connect to the 1F DNS but won't pull up the controller page 😢
I have carve pro and the jtech 7w laser. Can that software run the laser or do I need to get light burn or something else?
Not sure if you figured this out yet - there is a module available for purchase from Vectric to v Carve Pro to add laser carving to your tools.

@@CountryBoyMoto I think I’m going to buy it today, instead of getting lightburn. I’ve been using lightburn for a few weeks, but I’d rather have everything in one place. Also trying to move off of Easel to all V Carvr.

Don’t take your laser apart just cut and grind smooth with your dremal quick and done..
If your PC or laptop has an ethernet port as well as Wi-Fi you can connect the Wi-Fi to the 1F and connect the hardwire ethernet port to the internet.

My v carve pro is 10.514. On post processor I can not fine onefinity in the list. Do you have anything that I my do to fine it.

Great video as I'm just setting mine up. If you have the laser option, would it be a different program or would you add the laser as another toolpath?
If you pay for the laser add on module through vectric, you’ll see a new option for a laser toolpath. You’ll have to add the laser in your tools database and then you’re ready to go!
I'm interested too...just putting my OneFinity together and have the laser option. Wasn't sure how it would work and whether it has to come off when just using the router. Look forward to a demo video making something with the laser and using Vectric software.

Your computer will say no internet since you’re connecting DIRECTLY to the machine. Does typing onefinity.local or onefinity.local open the browser to the control page?

Appreciate this! Seems like a lot of the VCarve tutorials out there save each tool path as its own gcode; any pros/cons to doing it that way vs. how you exported everything as one file? Seems this would be more efficient, but hey, what do I know? My 1F is due in July.
It was fun to make the tutorial, but unless you set a safe Z height that’s a bit higher than normal, you might might have enough space to change your bit.. when you change the Safe Z it will raise it higher, make it easy to change bits, but it will increase your carve time. I usually zero in the center of the pieces now with a vbit first, then create different gcode files for each bit. Makes it easy for me to correct anything mid cut if I need to. Excited for you to get yours!
Hello Dustin, So does the V-CARVE PRO have the ONEFINITY post processor installed in their options now? I am trying to decide on which program to buy and am leaning towards V-CARVE PRO. My ONEFINITY wont arrive for another month but I have been practicing with the free download and getting better with it as a design tool but have not saved and downloaded files to see if it's listed. My other question is when you installed your v-bit, you used the probe plate on the edge, I thought to zero out the z you flip the plate over and then probe! is this an option ?
The post processor isn’t included with the vcarve download but it is easily downloadable from the Onefinity official forum. The only reason my situation worked in this case is because my workpiece had the ability for me to seat the probe with its ridges hanging off the piece.. essentially it was almost as if it was flipped over. This isn’t a good practice since even the slightest turn of the bit could cause it not to engage the probe properly to establish a ground connection. I just got lucky, if I could do it again I would probe Z with the probe upside down

@@bustindustin123 what if you were not using a probe and did the 2nd tool change and manually reset z zero Would you still go from the original z zero Which is the top of your workpiece.

Hi Dustin. Great share mate. I just have a question. I also want to change the onefinity monitor. The monitor that comes with machine has hdmi and usb-c connected to the controller. What is the purpose of the usb-c? Have you connected your new monitor the same way? Thanks.
The purpose is for the touch screen capability to work.
Hey Dustin I just purchased my laser and was hoping you can go through the set up of the software. I use vcarve pro. And no one is showing how to setup the laser software on the onefinity.
