It's already sticky as is. It takes some time to clean the caramelized sugar off the pan too. Gotta keep it soaked in water for a while to dissolve it and save the elbow grease
@@taiguy53 That’s not what she means. Baking soda helps it not stick to your teeth. It breaks apart easier in your mouth so it’s not as harmful on your teeth
I tried this and it wasn’t the best taste but it was so fun to make and it was super satisfying to crunch the sugar layer! (I let it sit for about 24 minutes before using it to make the candy!)
@@Iamtheweirdkidonce tangulued, you will have 10% of the quantity stuck to the pan and to get it off use 5% of the water you used at the start of the recipe
Well technically that’s just candied fruit, because Tanghulu uses bing tang sugar, and you have to have an even amount of fruit on the stick. No hate intended.
If it’s stuck stuck and won’t come off perhaps pour some hot water in to dissolve the sugar or boil some water in the pot to dissolve the sugar. Basically, hot water to dissolve the sugar.
@Its Just me yess right after your done Make sure your running hot water or boiling water on hand to rinse it off lol. Also use a non-stick pan I found it more easy😊
How long do you boil it though last time I tried this I messed up my grandmas sauce pan and that did not go well so how long do I do it for it not to burn please tell me
You don't have to use water, it just speeds up the melting process. I've made this just by melting sugar in a pan. It takes longer and requires a lot of attention and stirring to prevent the sugar from burning, but every time I use water it ends up too much like syrup or it doesn't harden fast enough and drips everywhere.
Word of advice to all people with sensitive stomachs: If too much sugar tends to hurt your stomach you might want to limit how much you eat, or even avoid this. Believe me I learned this advice the hard way
I heard if you add a lil baking soda it helps with the stick and crunch

This is actually very good it tastes like really sweet strawberry candy
The crunch✨
If you add a pinch of baking soda to the candy it makes it shatter when you bite it so it’s easier on your teeth.
Where do I add the baking soda, in the sugar mix or on top of the sugared strawberry when it’s ready?
in the mix naturally
Thanks
@@mitumiah811 in the sugar mix right before you dip the fruit
The first Time I did it (today) I bit it and sugar got stuck in my teeth like jolly ranches

Question how do you get the sugar off of the bottom of the pan
You just boil some water in the pot to dissolve the remaining surgar and drain then wash@@Iamtheweirdkid

I tried it todayyyyy😭

What helped me get the extra surger off the pan was REALLY hot water and a HIGH pressure setting in your faucet. That got it off right away!
Sorry, I’m British. May I ask what a faucet is? I think it’s related to tap.
@@NaomNyamoitaMongare Yes a faucet is the same thing as a tap! I never knew there was another way of saying it 😂
This works and it was soooooo good

I cup sugar half a cup of water stir once once it’s boiling dip the strawberries in mix then an immediate ice bath
I used grapefruit and apple and it was soooo good
Tbh I love them with hawthorns instead it tastes much more authentic lol but this is also rlly good ❤
Tyyy
I cannot be the only person who specifically heard the Skyrim biting into a entire cheese wheel eating sound as soon as they bit into the strawberry
Thank you I thought something was wrong with me. There probably is...but still
Mine didn’t bubble like hers, was it supposed to? (I’ll edit if it worked even though it didn’t bubble)
Do you have to use strawberries?
Does it smell when you make it?
Shoberies 😂❤❤❤ It is so cute how she pronounce strawberries
What? first of all, that's racist. Second of all, she said it normally???
Not me breaking my tooth on the chopstick-
It came out gooey for me
Can u use brown sugar
Do you have to add the sugar first? Or can u do it any way? Because my sugar ended up just turning into orange-ist water
Does the water and sugar measurements work for any fruit
Wait you cook it for 13 minutes? Or let it sit for 13 minutes? What heat should it be at?
Would it work with brown sugar
Lol I tried making Tanghuhu When my mom was at work. I got it all over the pan and it was not good. This video literally saved my life!!!
Is there a way to do this with honey and not sugar?
Send this for sunoo🤣💗💫✨️
If i dont have ice to put in water its a problem?
Can you put the dipping on it still even though you didnt use corn syrup?

Make hawthorn tanghulu, which is the original traditional Chinese way.

Can the sugar be Splenda
Can apples be used
Can you store this?
tang hulu is not just candied fruit it’s also served in EVEN number portions on a stick.
if there isn’t an even number of fruit on the stick, it’s technically not tanghulu.

Can you replace the sugar with stevia sweetener?
