    8 minutes and 28 seconds just to say that it is dark in the winter (like everywhere in the north), the winter is cold (like everywhere in the north), and that it is one of the most polluted cities. I lived there for some time. It is not quite as depressing as made out in the video, except in winter, and the winter is quite long. The summer is spectacular though, and the nearby nature and mountains are exceptional.

      Yes, it's -50 degrees there, you breathe toxic fumes and it rains acid rain, nothing is worse than the former gulag and the second most polluted city on earth, everyone's balls would freeze there, I want to see you in the mine where you mine cobalt and nickel and then you process it, then you would run across the tundra damn bradford just because there are bad people doesn't make it the most depressing city

    I want to go there during summer because it's always cold there and I hate the heat so much, hopefully one day because of the war and stuff and the polar night and midnight sun are pretty cool, I have severe chronic insomnia anyway treated with benzodiazepines anyway so that wouldn't be a problem, there are other things that people find depressing about this city but I am the opposite, all I need there is my PC and internet connection and they have fiber optic connection now up to 40 GB/s

      -No vegetation?... Greenhouses.
      -Pollution?... There's a little technical issue here, I suggest connecting the factories' chimneys to pipes that compress the smoke into gas canisters to be used in other industries, or liquefied or solidified inside the Permafrost. Sorry if that was a bit crazy.
      -Depression?... ROCK SHOW!

    Some avenues are not too ugly. They should have imposed them as the minimal standard for all buildings : now with 3D printing and computerized moulding it doesn't cost much to make all facades classical-looking. They could also turn some streets into greenhouses during the winter.

    It's pretty drab down here in deep S Texas. Hotter than hell in the summer. The heat drains you if you work outside. It's
    not very scenic here, flat land and thorny arid scrubbrush, lots of biting incects. I definitely live in better places

    • @john_w4ng
      @john_w4ng 8 месяцев назад

      It's better when it's hot than when it's cold. Previously, I often visited the northern cities of Russia, Norilsk, Salekhard and so on. The problem is not even that they are gloomy, the problem is that there is nothing to do there and almost nowhere to go in your free time. One plus is extremely high salaries for Russia; on average, people earn no less there than in Moscow, despite the fact that housing, food, and utilities are many times cheaper.

    Norilsk just isolated city in arctic common temperature there ~ -40° , primary there temporary workers just are living , coz Norilsk is just industrial town with extraction of some resources. There is no any ability for common life, climate damaging everything.

      I love our climate in Southern California, but I don't love the fact that there's no advance warning of earthquakes (I receive no clues from my two cats, which are 'supposed to' have a keen sense of when they're about to occur). As a centrist, I wish our political climate wasn't quite so liberal, and I wish Californians' dress sense wasn't so beachy-casual for most occasions. But Norilsk? Too cold, and its Brutalist architecture is most depressing. Even when it's painted bright yellow.
