That's about it really. But I can't show how Corruption is gained because there is no way to showing these kinds of things without custom games etc.
One way to survive struggle mode is to get lucky. For each enemy a Psyker kills, he/she has a small chance of lowering the user's Peril, which can prevent your self-detonation. I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it is not something one can plan around either way.
It's your basic trait. 10% chance on kill to reduce 10% peril. But afaik it doesn't get you out of struggle. If it worked for you though, then yes, it can be a lucky break!~
@@RealAsianRobot Only happened once, but I did randomly trigger the trait a moment after the struggle animation had started. That single case is my only basis for the claim, but it was surprising enough of an event to stick in my memory.
It feels like the struggle condition varies from staff to staff. @@RealAsianRobot Agreed. I view playing the weakest class (on T4+) as tough practice that sharpens us more than other players, which will be rewarded after a buff.
The game doesn't incentivise generic weapons, it's a trade off. More powerful force weapon, or slightly faster passive quell speed on non-force weapons. You choose. I think people get hung up on equipment waaay too much. Equipment alone won't have you surviving Damnation.
Hey I have a question?? What is the difference of fully charging a staff secondary and not? More damage? More targets? Is is better to fully charge or to rapid fire? (I'm using the Surge Force Staff)
More charging is usually more damage (for surge staff it only boosts damage), I'll probably make a vid to cover this for all staffs since I see a lot of people asking it. Don't worry. I got you!
Charging the Voidstrike staff increases its damage, ability to pierce, and the amount of stagger from the impact explosion, but not the explosion AoE. Charging the Surge staff increases its final tick of damage. Charging the Trauma staff increases its AoE, stagger, and damage. Charging the Purgatus staff increases the duration of the flamethrower effect. Per-tick damage (not from soulblaze, but from the staff itself) increases on the target the longer they're under the effect of the Purgatus staff, so it's an indirect increase to damage as well.
Considered it, but I just ended up practicing it with R until I'm perfect lol. Plus I try to keep my keybinds similar so I don't get game shock when I switch to Overwatch 🤣🤣
It's only the surge staff that behaves like that. All the other staffs do not overcharge if you stop casting at 100%. I think it needs to be fixed. I've been playing alot of sienna and I can say surge staff is the only staff that behaves like that.
In general I do know that fixes are coming, for the Surge Staff, I believe the root of the problem lies with the animation that can take awhile to finish which is what causes the overload at the end. However, I should also probably state that an exploit does exist (notably with Purgatus) that gives practically unlimited casts with no danger of overload. These will be patched and fixed and SHOULD NOT be abused (even if discovered). So we will learn more as time goes by and I will update if needed!
I love how the electric staff and the flame thrower staff are just the opposite of each other. One gets you to struggle mode if you reach a 100 but the other one allows you to charge attack, literally starting on a 100 if you just tap the reload in between charges xD
Do you know why the duelling sword is so popular among youtubers? Is it because of it being a psyker only weapon or is there any use to it that I haven't found? I feel like it is both terrible at cc and single target dps?
Its fast and very good DPS. If you find a good one, you can mash hordes inbetween staff quells. But also, no offense, I dunno how much other youtubers test their stuff. I can only attest to what I use and I use the FOrce Sword LMAO
Warp charges increase all damage dealt. You can see this in my video about "why warp charges are important". Hope that info helps! If the vid is insufficient, let me know. But basically a warp charge increases any damage YOU do by 3% (per charge) for 25 seconds
Tide games are usually very deep. A lot of mechanics are hidden or unexplained and the more you know, the easier it is to work with them 😁👍 Thanks for enjoying my content
I hate the fact that the force sword PUSH increase peril, it caused me to die more than once because I change to the sword at high peril to defend myself and just don't notice I CANNIT push.
Don't use the push attack. Instead while blocking just tap the LMB twice. If you avoid the push, you can still heavily stagger most enemies in 3m of you. Most people will use the regular push (block + LMB) [also known as the 'hand clasp'] do a full light attack combo and then hand clasp again. They repeat this infinitely for the ideal close combat with the force sword
Hey man! I don’t know if I’m misinterpreting how I’m using my brain burst. But I noticed that the brain burst has two different struggle conditions based on which mouse button you use. For example, when I use the lock on function with left click even at 99% peril, I will not go into struggle mode. However if I were to do it with the preload brainburst button with right click at 99% I immediately go into struggle mode when I hit 100% This allows me to spam brain burst on ogryns insanely fast with left click since they are easier targets to lock onto.
Yeah the preload is considered the same as a Staff Charge. So that is why it sends you into Struggle Mode. You should never preload a Brain Burst. It is always better to use the lock on style. That one is also safer. Preloading is a very rarely used technique and it can also be inaccurate even at the best of times unfortunately So I avoid it entirely
@@RealAsianRobot Counterpoint, Preloading is great when you hear that poxburster coming. Unless your timing is unlucky, but even then, as long as I have my ult available, I'll hold it at 100 until it finally shows. Has saved my groups a good few times from bursters spawning insanely close to us in a horde event. That's the ONLY situation I've found it useful though....... Also, follow up to my comment in a previous video, no findings on Voidstrike breakpoints with Warp Battery and Psykinetics Wrath, yet. Course my Voidstrike has a weak roll too......
@@thomasstewart1380 Damn, was hoping for a breakpoint kahahaha. But yeah, preloading can help with poxburster, but I honestly just blast him with the Voidstrike and once downed someone else can shoot him or I can spam the light shots till he blows. Cause he has too much HP at higher level for even the burst to work
@@RealAsianRobot If you're ballsy, you can also just let the poxburster dive at you, do a pushback while blocking with melee and do a backwards dodge. If you time it right, it won't hit you, but still pops. Also, I'll keep testing the Voidstrike for breakpoints when I get a better one down the line. So far with one that only has a damage stat of like 319, the only notable things I've found is that the extra damage may put certain enemies like Ragers or Maulers into one-tap range for Plasma Guns. But I also don't have enough testing with the Plasma Gun to definitively say that because my plasma gun is also a pretty low roll too. Also, I've only tested T5 so far. I think I may some more viable results for T4, but I'll let you know if I find something.
I have a feeling the no struggle on brainburst 100 is not meant to happen just like how the purgatus staff probably shouldn't allow infinite flames with the right timing of quell.
The infinite flames is an exploit on the Purgatus staff. So be sure to avoid using it. The BB thing is actually part of the game and has been since pre-order Beta. So at this point I think it is part of the design.
@@RealAsianRobot Fair enough and if correct is an amazing increase in power for the Psyker. Just feels so counter to the rest of the design on Psyker that it feels like a glitch to me. Fingers crossed that it is fully meant to work that way.
Today I had a little wtf situation with the fire staff. I messed up my Peril and my ult was down, I clearly entered struggle mode and I was allready heading towards a better spot to get downed, but suddenly my peril dropped to about 92ish and I was fine. Probably just a bug, but I really wonder what exactly happened there.
You might have gotten a kill afterward, because we have a 10% chance to quell 10% peril. So if you get a kill that triggers that trait after you enter struggle mode. You can be saved lol. Another user mentioned it in the comments actually
Right now, I have not gotten a proper build for it as it is still a bit situational, I plan to test more in the near future. But in general even a Purgatus build rarely uses Soulfire tbh
Soulfire is a burning DoT effect you can inflict from the feats Wrack and Ruin, Kinetic Overload, and Kinetic Blaze, and is also applied while using a Purgatus staff or via certain staff blessings (such as one that applies soulfire on crit). It deals roughly 24 damage per stack over a fairly long duration which isn't all that impressive, though, so sources of it are almost universally for synergy with the Kinetic Blaze level 30 feat, which I don't particularly find that useful versus Kinetic Barrage.
i have another way and it allows you to fully charge a staff at 100%, finish the cast and not enter struggle mode. It actually allows you to quell down all the way to 0% if you are lucky enough and im sure if u think you already know how its done just by reading this. And another way to actually stay at 100% all the time with purga staff and not enter struggle mode.
Those are exploits and you are not allowed to use them. They will be patched in future. So please be aware that using such methods could result in an account ban. Do becareful and if you haven't reported them on the Fatshark Forums as a bug. You might want to do so
This is ANCIENT lol, and it does take you out of struggle, but you need Venting Shriek later in the skill tree. Please do not refer to old videos BEFORE the update mate.
I « struggle » (wink) to not explode myself with the surge staff it’s so easy to overlook it when swarmed or a friggin dog jumps at you. But thanks for the video, it’s excellent and I learned a lot.
Ehhh I feel the 97% thing will get patched. Also I found the combo of having the level 10 feat that increases the damage of force weapons based on current perils level and just whipping out your force sword makes for a great panic blender. By the time your done shredding the goons in front of you its already quelled.
It can be good if you're hitting a hitpoint breakpoint, but do test it in the meatgrinder. Because more often than not, I've found that it doesn't increase the number of swings I have to do to kill hordes at T4 and T5. Hence why it doesn't normally feature in builds.
This is an old vid my dude, it was like months ago. Please refer to the updated version. Also, Peril is easily managed and you should ALWAYS be using a staff on the Psyker, Gun Psyker is very detrimental to most teams if you're playing with randoms.
I don't believe this is the case. The quell rate is solely affected by your force staff and by how long you've been holding the quell button. That's pretty much it. It will not quell faster if the peril is higher (you'll only see a faster drop at the end)
@@RealAsianRobot or maybe you can try it for yourself before assuming. It hardly quells anything no matter the rate when its under 15% and quickly ramps up when ut gets to the red zone
@@ricardocalderon9823 Allow me to use stronger wording then. This is absolutely not the case and has been tested with all force staffs (on stream and off stream). I never make assumptions mate, I just try to be politer with my words. However, it has been tested on stream, in combat and in everyway possible. I've quelled at 20% or less and its at the same rate (so long as I'm using my Force Staff). It could be different with hands or sword, but since the Staff is the only one with a quell stat, that is what you should be using when quelling (as demonstrated in the video) and it functions the same at high peril and low peril. I would not be saying it if I wasn't experienced which is one thing about this channel that I can proudly stand by. if I don't know something I'm happy to admit it, but if I do say something, it is because I've checked my facts. Now then, if you ARE genuinely experiencing quelling difficulties at low peril levels, take a vid and let the devs know on the Fatshark Forum because it could potentially be a bug (some folks have reported still experiencing bugs that are previously patched etc.). This would be super helpful to them because you could genuinely be experiencing a bug (i.e. I still have the curio bug actually ongoing right now).
No thanks, I'd rather be detailed and explanatory. If you want 2 minute tutorials, there are plenty of other creators who can give you that short info drop that is entirely unhelpful :D
Animation cancels themselves are generally intentionally coded in by developers- as the name suggests, they allow the player to act before the full animation has gone through. This is generally done to improve UX and responsiveness for players. For example, in a fighting game, you can combo a punch into another punch faster than the animations for those two punches can fully play, one after the other. This is made to look fluid in 3D games thanks to specific tricks with tweening together various animation files applied to the same 3D model. Animation canceling is the act of using these to gain a benefit, such as attacking faster by alternating various button inputs. This is generally via using things the developers had designed the system to explicitly do. If you're still going on about the thing with the surge staff even though that video was ages ago and you're beating a dead horse now, the "animation cancel" in that case is that the actual shock channel of the surge staff backloads its damage to a single heavy hit on the last tick of damage. Sprinting during this or committing any other action that would cause you to put away your staff is almost certainly *intended by the developers* because it's awful UX to lose that damage because you were forced to move, swap weapons, or otherwise put into a situation where the full channel would not otherwise go through. It would be an intentional decision to, instead of going "after 8 ticks, deal the final tick of damage", go "is there going to be a tick of damage after this? If not, treat this as the final tick of damage." It's something that would physically require more coding for Fatshark to include in the game. It is not an exploit to take advantage of this because exploits categorically- *by their definition*- take advantage of unintended interactions. This specific one is, was, and almost certainly will remain an interaction intended by Fatshark.
And no, animation canceling is something that's been core to video game design from the 1970s to modern day. Nothing has ever changed in that regards at any point in the history of the industry at large.
@angelhood101 already replied and covered it pretty well, so I'll just say this much. Animation canceling is a standard for the gaming industry. There are exploits right now for the Psyker (involving certain staffs and charging methods) but these have already been reported to the devs and will likely be patched. Animation canceling itself is not an exploit unless it causes an unfair advantage (I.e. never going into struggle mode despite 100% peril)
@@CS-amegmondo Well, I've done my part in informing & warning you. If you still choose to go ahead and abuse any bugs or exploits. Then don't blame me if you get banned ;).

Considered it, but I just ended up practicing it with R until I'm perfect lol. Plus I try to keep my keybinds similar so I don't get game shock when I switch to Overwatch 🤣🤣
I ended up putting reload on M4 so my left hand is dedicated solely to movement
Hey! Plz also cover any feats or other stuff that could depend of Peril lvl
I have already done a vid covering all Payker feats. Let me know if you need a link to it. But it should be fairly easy to find on my channel
What keybinding do you use for reload?
R. I never change my keybinds for any game I am partnered with (this is to more properly test the default settings of a particular game)
Awesome tips!!!
I keep dying to self destruct, oopsie..I think I shall be able to avoid that now! :)
Good! Learn to start by keeping your F available when spamming lightning UNTIL you are better with management
Would this still be correct for the current version of the game?
There is an updated video on this exact subject I believe. Let me see if I can find it. I'm sure I made one

Here it is
@@RealAsianRobot cheers mate!
Yeah, it is wild LMAO.
What's the point of warp charges? Increases the power of force weapons?
Warp charges increase all damage dealt. You can see this in my video about "why warp charges are important". Hope that info helps! If the vid is insufficient, let me know.
But basically a warp charge increases any damage YOU do by 3% (per charge) for 25 seconds
At first i thought its a slaughter Game, but its so deep !
Tide games are usually very deep. A lot of mechanics are hidden or unexplained and the more you know, the easier it is to work with them 😁👍
Thanks for enjoying my content
However if I were to do it with the preload brainburst button with right click at 99% I immediately go into struggle mode when I hit 100%
This allows me to spam brain burst on ogryns insanely fast with left click since they are easier targets to lock onto.
Yeah the preload is considered the same as a Staff Charge. So that is why it sends you into Struggle Mode.
You should never preload a Brain Burst. It is always better to use the lock on style. That one is also safer. Preloading is a very rarely used technique and it can also be inaccurate even at the best of times unfortunately
So I avoid it entirely
@@pringlebread4913 For the BB yes. Me too mate!
Your residual burn from your fire staff probably triggered the psyker passive that gives you a small chance to lower peril after every kill.
You might have gotten a kill afterward, because we have a 10% chance to quell 10% peril. So if you get a kill that triggers that trait after you enter struggle mode. You can be saved lol.
Another user mentioned it in the comments actually
Also what is a soul fire based thing. Plenty of talent works around it but the mechanic itself deals no dmg 🤔
You might want to do so
This game just came out for XBOX on gamepass, quick note: your ult does not take you out of "struggle mode"
This is ANCIENT lol, and it does take you out of struggle, but you need Venting Shriek later in the skill tree. Please do not refer to old videos BEFORE the update mate.
I would love a video on weapon and curio perks.
This will only be done once the rest of the crafting system is out. As it is impossible to discuss them right now
what do you mean by ultimate? ? your E key ?
Yes, Combat Ability, Ult, all of this is interchangable.
But please don't watch this video. It is VERY old, I will make a new one soon.
@@RealAsianRobot ok thank you. your videos are alot of help
I « struggle » (wink) to not explode myself with the surge staff it’s so easy to overlook it when swarmed or a friggin dog jumps at you. But thanks for the video, it’s excellent and I learned a lot.
same, haha!
Im happy to help if I can. If you're new to the Surge staff, my advice is to always keep your F ready before you spam ;)
ty my friend helped allot
No problem. Always happy to help the Darktide players 😁✌️
This is a big find
I hope you enjoy the info! Welcome to my channel btw 😁
The initial accent made me laugh.🤣
I'm always glad to entertain!
Hence why it doesn't normally feature in builds.
what?! guess im switching to a regular weapon then, thanks for the info.
This is an old vid my dude, it was like months ago. Please refer to the updated version.
Also, Peril is easily managed and you should ALWAYS be using a staff on the Psyker, Gun Psyker is very detrimental to most teams if you're playing with randoms.
The higher the percentage of peril the faster it quells.
Like most tutorials on RUclips, this video could've been 2 minutes with the same info.
No thanks, I'd rather be detailed and explanatory. If you want 2 minute tutorials, there are plenty of other creators who can give you that short info drop that is entirely unhelpful :D
I am guessing noone played Sienna in Vermintide 2 ?
Players may not come from Vermintide 2. Is that a bad thing? Players coming from other games is a wonderful help
Animation cancel in 2000-2010 is legacy. After next generstion babies since today is exploit. Great deal thanks for this....!!
@@RealAsianRobot "unfair advantage" in pve game? XD XD XD XD Ok good.
@@CS-amegmondo Well, I've done my part in informing & warning you. If you still choose to go ahead and abuse any bugs or exploits. Then don't blame me if you get banned ;).
