Very nice build. I haven't seen a let in, done in a wall for decades. I also like how you took your time to precisely set the sill plate, then referenced the other aspects of the build, from that, and from each other. The crew looks like they have worked together for awhile. I would have done a few things differently, but then I live by the North Atlantic, and we get nasty weather. You build for where you live. Again.... a nice video. I enjoyed watching.😊
Not sure what country this is but the lumber looks great! On the video it looks like full dimension lumber not like the stuff we have here that was full dimension before they plane it down. I always love how the guys work as a team and it looks like every move is planned. Great job.
The Anderep Next roof underlayment (what we would historically use tar paper for) comes back to Uniroof in Armenia, and a lot of matches where the alphabet looks like it may be Cyrilic. So yeah, that's consistent with the lumber.

I don’t know if he would approve of some of their methods… I’ve taught framing construction…and anchoring with J-bolts to the slab is code in the USA in any region….I never seen toe nailing wall studs to bottom plate after lifting wall up… it looks cumbersome when studs are dangling. On the positive side they are precise in their cutting techniques.

You Americans build out of sticks and plastics 🤦♂️ Ya need a tool for everything 😂 A good Carpenter is not one that blindly follows. How can you put your name to this knowing very well this is WRONG!!
Except for the bottom plate attachment, and the guns, this is straight out of the Larry Haun playbook. BTW, timber must be really cheap wherever you are.
German overengineering, I know, but I grew up and am used to stonewall and concrete ceiling houses which are earthquake-proofed. I think a wooden construction house like this would do fine in an earthquake, but I don´t want to be in one when a heavy storm or a hurricane will come up. Hate me, it wouldn´t change my mind.
Great technique on them cuts. I hope to I have my house framed with this talent. How much would it cost for a framed house done like this $$$ US; Atlanta, Ga.
Love your videos. Not sure why you aren’t using starter strips on your shingles. There is nothing to seal the first row of shingles down. They will curl and catch wind and nothing underneath where they butt together between the seams.
I was wondering about that. Not being much of a carpenter I was thinking that maybe with modern nail guns and 4 to 6 toenails versus two hammer driven might make up for the lack of what, two up through the bottom plate ?? -----------------Not the same at all on twist right or wrong?
As a constructor (mechanical), I think it is a solid build that is stable and can withstand high loads, unlike some builds in the US that do not seem to be able to withstand high snow loads.
The wall frames should be assembled on the soil: studs, top plate, and bottom plate. Because they fixed the bottom plate first, the studs and top plate joints got loose. This mistake will be visible in the structure's strength.
That’s not true. The reason they did it this way is to cut the studs according to the level set by the laser. Toenailing is as effective as end nailing or better when done like these guys do it. This structure won’t be affected in any way by doing it like this. This actually is the correct way to frame over an uneven concrete slab.
The construction could have been sped up if they had NOT installed the bottom plate separately but built it with the wall studs. There’s likely a reason but I can’t see it. Otherwise, they could have put the plate down then build the walls using a second bottom plate, adjusting the suds, or not, for whatever ceiling height they need. Using flush baseboards allow flexibility in the usual eight foot one inch height. Otherwise, these boys are good framers. 😊
I would like to build a roof porch on my 🏠 home. But i need help on how cause its not that simple. I have like an L shape home at the front where the porch meets the front door where the living room is and part of house that goes towards one of the bedrooms. How would i plan on making my roof ?
The slab is uneven so they cut the studs longer or shorter to keep the top plate level. They used a laser on the fastened plate to determine the plus or minus on the stud.
The squaring is done when they snap the lines and measure the diagonals on the framed walls. Plus they usually don’t nail the diagonal brace until they plumb the corners of the walls.

Is this a joke? They dont even know the basics of fastening a wall.Toe nailing to the bottom plate? Why didnt you build, and nail the walls and then stand them up and bolt them down? Not one guy knows the basics.
This is old school carpentry. Toenailing studs was a standard practice, and is still used in renovating. It has also been a long time, since I have seen a let in used in wall construction. The method you mention, is modern construction techniques, meant to speed up the assembly (ie lower labour costs), but it is not structurally better than toenailing.
They cut the studs according to the laser to compensate for the uneven slab. Toenailing is actually as effective or more so than end nailing. The bottom plate has to be fastened to take the laser reading accurately.

What’s the reasoning for planing the studs ? Is it just for looks ? To have a fresh look ?
To flush up the differences between the sistered lumber or any uneven intersections. Make finish work much easier later on.

Those are real 2 by 4 and 2 by 6! Better than the 1 1/2 by 3 1/2 here in America
It looks easy to do, but when there's a strong wind, Definitely blown all over the place.
What is the benefit to framing the walls after the bottom plate has been anchored? It looks more difficult. Is it more precise?
The slab is uneven so they cut the studs longer or shorter to keep the top plate level. They used a laser on the fastened plate to determine the plus or minus on the stud.
The method they use is very good. Removes the need for shimming or laying the mudsill (bottom plate) in mortar and levelling it.
Sorry. The level was a builders level not a laser.
Assim que acaba com as árvores do planeta
Uma árvore, em forma de casa, permanecerá intacta por mais tempo do que crescerá e depois apodrecerá na floresta.
Given the complexity of the processes, you might as well build a stone house.
I haven’t seen a hint of using a square. I realize other countries do things differently but squaring up walls and framing is necessary.
The squaring is done when they snap the lines and measure the diagonals on the framed walls. Plus they usually don’t nail the diagonal brace until they plumb the corners of the walls.
Experience brings efficiency.
No spirit level either to make sure walls are upright.
