Youa re wrong, you can buy the Stealth frame from stealth and build the same bike for $4k aud. thats like $2800 usd. You must be going through a 3rd party company that puts the massive price hike to make them $10k. cause i got mine for $4k aud.
All these electric bikes have several major issues. Range the Delfast is great but most give you 10 miles...and that's assuming a 150lb rider on a flat level surface with no wind. If they give you a variable range tey are either accounting for these variables or adding "pedal assist" to the equation. Second, speed. most offer 10-15 mph which is fine for leisurely rides but real bad if you hit a hill or come across a dog that WILL catch you at that speed as well as kids who will ride circles around you, try to race you ect..and causing a dangerous traffic situation for you and the kids. Third, weight. Many bikes use SLA batteries. My 48V 12 amp system comes in at nearly 50 lbs for the battery packs, 25 lbs for the hub motor then 40 lbs for the steel frame bike. That is a lot to haul up the steps after a ride. Lastly cost. My system is a bike conversion kit $1500. Batteries last 1 year of gentle use $400. When you see these purpose-built E-Bikes the price triples or quadruples. This is due to upgrading parts going from lead to lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries that cost $1000 TO $1500. Add another $2000 if you want a composite frame instead of a steel frame then add manufacturing costs and you are up to the cost of a Nice Gas motorcycle or a nice used car, completely defeating the purpose of the bike turning it into a toy for the rich instead of an alternative to an automobile for short trips or for the poor folks like me. I got mine because I am disabled. I get mocked if I ride a power chair whereas an e-bike only draws good attention but the battery cost has had me and my disabled wife's bikes collecting dust in the front hallway for 4 years now. Useless clumps of metal unless we find someone willing to donate the cash to buy fresh batteries and that's not gonna happen.
Nothing about these bikes is insane haha they are all pretty much standard ebikes. The Stealth bomber is ridiculously expensive for something really not that great. I mean 10k for a bike that does 50mph for only 40km! That's ridiculous.

BikeStuff you can buy the frame from China and it is a lot cheaper than getting it from Stealth. Check out Aliexpress
