I quite liked it! And regarding Agustin's comment about so-called 'kids shows' being only for kids, I agree that there's been a ton of shows aimed at younger audiences that has been amazing as an adult to watch. In that vein, I say again that I hope you guys can check out Star Trek: Prodigy. The first season was great, but the 2nd season which just dropped recently is simply amazing. Another kid-aimed show I've greatly enjoyed was the series which spun off from the How To Train Your Dragon movies. They captured much of the same charm and humor that was present in those films.
I love it and can't wait to see what the story is and what they get up to. They don't even need to meet anyone we've already seen, but it could be nice. When I watched this the first time all I could think of was the movies I watched as a kid like ET, Goonies, Explorers, Flight of the Navigator, The Last Starfighter, DARYL, and WarGames. I've even seen someone compare some of the story, and even some characters, to Captain Eo, and now I can't unsee it.
We’ve never seen the regular middle class people living near a major city. It’s always military and politicians. Factory and farmers. Gangsters living in a base. This doesn’t look like a homogeneous living structure of people living in hastily built clay homes with tech doors.
I love this!! REGULAR PEOPLE IN STARWARS...People want new stories then complain about new stories. I remember when there was a time when people just sat back and were open to enjoying things. Im glad yall are one of the few who still give honest reviews and go into new things with an open mind. This is Star Wars meets Goonies, meets ET, meets Super 8, meets Stranger Things.
Everyone is mentioning Goonies and E.T., while completely forgetting the 100% clear comparison: Explorers Kid dreams of going on an adventure, finds a spaceship in his backyard, and they fly off into space. I’m here for all of this! PS: Star Trek: Prodigy is amazing!
Mentioning Explorers is spot on. Everyone loves The Goonies, and there's love for Flight of the Navigator. But Explorers has always been one of my favorites.
This honestly looks like a series for the entire family, and it'll feel nostalgic for the 80s and 90s kids who are now parents themselves. But it really feels adventurous, wondrous, fun, and with a whole lotta heart, and I cannot wait for for it! Also, we gotta protect these child actors from those Star Wars online bullies!
I like this approach. I love, love Andor but I was a kid when I fell in love with Star Wars. The wonder, the magic, the adventure. And there are still kids out there who haven't seen or know about Star Wars. Everyone has their gateway.
I think it's quite clear that there isn't a hidden jedi temple, the kid just wants it to be - and it's actually the ship. Same as he assumes Jude Law's character is a jedi - it's just what the kids wants to be true (he wants there to be a jedi temple, he wants to meet a jedi). Anyway, really looking forward to this show and seeing your reactions!
Watching the trailer the first time I was half way through the thought that this was going to be a "kids on bikes" movie... Right when they gave us the shot of kids on speeder bikes. This honestly looks like it's going to give us some really fun slice of life type stuff, in Star Wars. Like there will be stakes and things for the kids, but it's not going to be galaxy changing stuff. I am so here for it!
I’m super stoked for this. There’s so many possibilities in a galaxy full of different worlds, and I love that they’re taking the opportunity to explore that and how vastly different each world can be vs. just keeping us in the same pocket of the galaxy. And many of the kids watching this are going to see this world and feel connected to it immediately because of the similarities, and it will open their imaginations up. Also absolutely loving the Goonies/E.T. vibes. Can’t wait for your reactions!
I was not ready for how much I need this show. I am a MASSIVE fan of the child adventure movies of the 80s and 90s and specifically the Ewok movies which this kinda reminds me of. This has instantly become my most anticipated project for this year.
not to reach or anything but as a big MJ fan this trailer was riddled with Captain Eo references mainly the red bird, one of the droids and the elephant esk creature.
Thanks to Adam, Hector and Agustin! 💀 #SkeletonCrew looks sooooooo good to me. I also saw the leaked teaser for THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU (2026), which looked great... and the leaked sizzle for Season 2 of ANDOR, which looked stellar.
I just filmed my reaction to this trailer before I came here and it's vindicating to see we share similar thoughts on this show. Looking forward to this show!
Yeah this show looks INCREDIBLE. The Space Goonies/Amblin vibes are impeccable. The people bitching about the suburbia thing crack me up, to be honest. We finally get a new *kind* of planetary environment in Star Wars (we’ve had cityscapes, mining colonies, forests, tundra, desert, etc etc etc, but never this) and OF COURSE the mid rim and core worlds would have some middle class settlements like this (I mean, duh) but we’ve never seen them before, and the first instinct of some folks is to complain. It’s wild.
Star Wars carved out a few visual design aesthetics that are iconic to the franchise. I'm not saying it's wrong AT ALL that it would also look like this...but my gut reaction was like "huh?" seeing star wars in suburbia and so forth. Looks like a promising show. As long as it earns it's place by being GOOD, I'm down. Also, my kids are with their grands, can't wait to show em this tomorrow!
Since it was brought up, the creators of the show have said that this show is not just for kids and that it will have real stakes. So it'll be like The Clone Wars, Rebels and The Bad Batch pretty much. I'm fine with having suburbs in Star Wars, I just wish they felt more alien. Give me some alien trees or different color grass. I guess I just want more alien feeling worlds overall. Although, that's probably by design, making the planet the kids are from feel like Earth and familiar to us, so that when they get lost in the galaxy, everything feels even more alien and wondrous. With that said, I am excited for this show and I hope it's amazing. I also really hope that no matter what, no one is shitty to any of the actors, especially the kids. Wishful thinking, I know.
All the captain EO nods in this trailer made me so happy. Going to Disneyland and seeing Captain EO after going on star tours really made me feel like Captain eo was in the Star Wars universe, especially cause of hooter who as a kid, assumed was a max rebo. It’s awesome to see that kind of coming true now.
Someone asked me the other day what is missing from Star Wars today....and I said, " Hope, adventure, and heart " and I feel like this may have all three. I hope that all of the Star wars people who can't handle "bricks" stay away thinking this is a kid's show, and the rest of us can just escape into the galaxy far far away for adventures again. LOVE YOU GUYS and thank you for all you do!
Any region that isn't the Core Worlds or Outer Rim makes sense. I'd guess anywhere within the Inner Rim to Mid Rim regions since those worlds are pretty developed and prosperous, but not as wealthy as the Core Worlds and Colonies.
Who knows? Maybe when the kids get to be a certain age they have to register with the Stormtrooper draft like we did back then, and certain really smart kids get recruited to work for the government. We went through all that, and still our town was peaceful and suburban.
My kid is 11 and he only enjoys movies if there are kids in them. I tried to show him A New Hope and he was bored out of his mind. Then I showed him The Phantom Menace and he thought it was amazing, because of Anakin winning the pod race. So I’m very excited for this show because I really want him to get into Star Wars without having his hero be the character that wipes out a bunch of younglings a couple movies later. 😬
@@ckelcro ikr?? But based on his love of Anakin, maybe he was just bored with all the Jedi mumbo jumbo and wanted to get to the Dark Side badassary (that’s what I tell myself)
SO excited for this, it’s totally Goonies in space! 😆 But everyone takes that kids word for truth; I think that was an abandoned ship, not a Jedi Temple.
Ahem.. E.T. himself making a 'potential' cameo 😬 & Jude Law might pull a behaviour from his character in A.I.❤ Here's to more bricks, screws and wooden kids toys!!
