If I had to describe Galio, he's like that jock kid in high school that's very into American football and is patriotic about his schools sports team, and he's genuinely a cool dude. Issue is, he doesn't do well in his classes.

The only bad thing about Galio, is that he is narratively the ultimate safety net for Demacia. For anything to really feel like a threat in Demacia, Galio has to be destroyed, which could work as an excellent narrative beat, but Galio will die so it will be very sad 😢

Not really, Katarina just kinda assassinated Jarvan III (for example) and things like bio-weapons and the void can't be stopped by Galio

What I meant is that Demacia as a whole will never be in major danger as long as Galio is around. Individuals can still die, but Demacia as an entity will stand. Like the Void, or Kayle, or Noxus will never really be a threat as long as Galio stands

Regarding LoR, I believe that when Swain says "Your secrets died with your maker", implied that the Durand's secret was being able to make Galio truly sentient and able to speak, so while his descendants are also able to make petricite constructs, only Durand could make them sentient and able to express thought and feeling.
Playing as Galio even though I'm not killing the enemy, helping out the team in every team fight with his cc and ult is what makes him so fun to play
Unpopular opinion but if they didn't remove his flash during channeling taunt he still would be a relatively popular character. It's sad Rito can keep some champions unbalanced and OP for years because they are popular attractive males and females, but when one monster character is too strong they nerf it so strictly lol
They compensated hard with buffs tho. I main him and would not take the W flash back bc they would have to nerf him.

Galio is definitely in the Top 3 favourite champions for me, and my Top 1 favourite Mid Laner.
His W shuts down so many annoying things certain champions can do.
He’s neither too strong or too weak so nobody gets mad at you for playing him.
People seem to really underestimate how much damage he can dish out.
His positive and fun personality rubs off on you.
His design is cool and unique for League.
He has lots of great skins to offer.
What’s not to love?
I miss when Galio could go top and act as a tank. That was like when the rework came out, because his w also reduced incoming ad damage. He worked as a tank in top and it was super fun.

Jhin's face has kinda been revealed. It's been implied by the writers that he does take off his mask when it suits him, he just looks....absolutely average and boring under it. Like the most typical NPC, bland face you could imagine. Which is so perfect, honestly. I think that's an even better idea than to never reveal what his face looks like at all

I like going full tank with at least one AP item preferably Banshee Veil and live up to what Galio is thematically of tanking all the damage and destroy everyone. Mages do nothing to me when I build all the MR

I recently picked up Galio out of curiosity, to expand my support pool (bigger than what it already is), and my god I wish I picked him up sooner. Galio has to be the most fun i've had with a champion that wasn't Rakan, Jhin, or Jinx. I love how wholesome he is, and my favorite line has to be "Woah! I didn't even know I had a tail!" It made me laudably chuckle. It's only been a week with Galio and I already love him a lot.
Galio supports works pretty well I’ve done it too from time to time. I like him mid though but build tank and see any mage or assassin do almost no damage to me

I actually think the new gameplay fits him very well being contradictory just like Demacia itself. How is he a mage… he’s literally powered by magic. Don’t act like Garen doesn’t use hardcore magic. Demacia’s symbol for ‘anti-magic’ being powered and created by magic is like the most Demacian thing I’ve ever heard of.

He should be a Buffed so he was like a MR Malphite, but allied defense centered
One cool little thing about Galio that I always remembered is, if the Voice Lines are to be believed, is that Galio and Sion have fought each other on numerous occasions, which would make sense canonically. But the fact that Sion can literally match a colossus that is 15 times his size is hilarious to me.
I really miss Old Gailo, he was my main for so long. No one was ever ready for him. I can’t vibe with new one as much

Old Galio would have been a better champion if Riot wasn't terrified of dot damage. Swain and Brand were the only 2 dot champions and both of those characters are reworked now, Brand's dot damage has been frontloaded into his 3 hit explosion damage and Swain's old kit is completely dead. They just never released the characters Galio was supposed to answer because League players were too stupid to realize this ability will kill you in 10 seconds

the idea is giving him items with big magic energy so he can be sentient of course, that's why ap galio is the most canonical one.
Couple things:
1. I desperately want Undertaker Galio in LoR just for his interactions with other champs where he lists what level of Hell they'd go to.
2. I think one thing they could give Galio to help fulfill his thematic fantasy would be an inverse of Abyssal Mask: Where Abyssal shreds enemy MR and grants you bonus MR based on how many enemies are affected by this, his new passive would give a flat magic damage reduction in an area around him, increases based on how many enemy champions are near him.

I would to like to see his lore somehow pit him more against his Noxian counterpart, Sion. They have a lot of similarities in terms of being constructs designed with the intention of protecting their respective regions. Though admittedly Sion is designed more to destroy than protect, but even that distinction I think is fun. To me Galio/Sion are a more interesting/tragic Garen/Darius.

@@dankmemes8254 sion has a great deal of symbolism himself. he was a famous war hero, and considering how warlike noxus is as a whole, that says a lot. there is also the fact that he uses an axe, which is in the noxian emblem, and he fights on the front line, fitting his highly aggressive playstyle (contrasting galio, who has a defensive playstyle reflecting his role as a protector)

I do miss old Galio's insentive to build MR and being a great counter pick for teams with a lot of ability power. It is a bit odd they removed that, especially considering his lore. But I still appreciate what they went for. Old Galio will always be #1 for me tho.
Also loved that he came out pretty quickly after Overwatch came out. So all I can hear whenever he talks is just Roadhog.
i think gallio gameplaywise should get more reasons to build tank instead of ap, and like not just MR but tank overall, thats the obly way to be viable
especially with AN AOE TAUNT like srsly aoe taunt with no armor is kinda a sewer slide imo
just do more defensive stats maybe like with scaling and such.
i think it would work better with what kind of character HES SOPPOSED TO BE, reather than the mage hes played as currently.

I take issue with people claiming that Aatrox was the only champion in League that was fully deleted becuse that's just false, we have the other one here. With Aatrox however, it feels like his rework was just a more focused version of what he was always meant to be like that was the Aatrox they would have made if he was conceptualised in 2018 instead of 2013 but absolutely none of the old Galio remains here, not his story, personality, aesthetic or gameplay. I mourn old Galio, the only thing left of him being the cute interaction he has with Poppy, he doesn't feel like a Galio rework to me he doesn't feel like the same re-imagining that Aatrox was, more like they binned the old character and added a cool new one. I like new Galio well enough but I will always be a little bitter.

I'll also say that I personally feel like Galio's gameplay design works really well at being a mage counter. First of all there's the magic resist stuff -- his W passive gives him magic shield, his R protects his teammates by giving them a magic shield too, his passive auto damage scales with magic resist (apparently??), and W's active adds/scales with magic resist. Second is the moveset itself! His E is burst movement which is more difficult for mages to counter, and his taunt can render them completely useless for a few seconds (obviously works well against most classes, but it's a lot more painful against ADCs), while his Q lets him somewhat compete with their poke. I haven't played old Galio so I don't know how it compares, but I feel that his current moveset suits him really well, and even though him being a mage is a bit ironic, it makes sense when according to lore he is literally powered by magic.

Funnily enough, i find the best way to build him is an ap mythic into full tank. Rocketbelt or liandries works great, and even RoA if you wanna go really tanky

hextech is a form of magic itself, just technologically cultivated, so i think petricite would work just fine against it. until there is a conflict between demacia and piltover, we will never know

I would say that Galio new fantasy, would be: protecting and helping your team while having fun
I feel like Galio should be a little bit more stronger against ap champion. Galio still badly lose early against many ap champion.
Maybe add more mr scale to damage abilities, or just shield also scale with mr as well as health, or add mr while having shield like Malphite.
