Peter’s entire approach to the “ground rule” was a giant reframing just to gaslight destiny. He just kept repeating the defense as if it was evidence of destiny using big words, when it was literally the opposite.

To be a tad fair, though Peter was a bad faith acting tool the entire time, Destiny has an issue in being overly condescending (though with who he interacts with, can easily see why).
Granted, setting some ground rules was necessary, but Desuteeny really should have gone about it in a better way.

Dave Chappelle’s Juicey Smollet bit isn’t a him laying into a guy, it’s a bit about HIS reaction to the story. Peter confuses being a bullying dickhead with “comedy”. The guy is a weasel, he is happy making a 40 minute video mischaracterizing someone but when he is forced to confront that person he has little to nothing to defend himself. He uses "comedy" as an excuse to spread misinformation. I'm glad Destiny confronted this guy.
Ironically, one can expect that his type of behavior would still exist under an idealized communist system, with the usual lead-up into systemic paranoia and malicious assaults on perceived adversaries.
There's no simple panacea, but we can at least start the path towards a better society by working out blatant and pernicious flaws in our character.
He literally said that the reason he made it a caricature of Destiny and not someone like Ben Shaprio was because Destiny would actually respond.
Then when Destiny actually responds and gets him in a call, he does this??? What a waste of fucking time. "You're tiring me out" says the guy who released a 40 minute boring ass video.
Ironic, Im only 7 minutes in, and so far its just a total mischaracterization _Destiny_ is making and then hunkering down on when he is corrected. Destiny reads an argument in "big words" where Coffin is just trying to ape his style. No, maybe its not funny to everyone, but Destiny is already freaking out that people are backpedaling when they are just explaining their intention. Have yet to watch the rest tho, here we go..
To answer Coffin, no there shouldn't be SNL or the Daily Show, because they suck. They suck just for the reason why I personally think Destiny is wrong on this one beginning point, just making fun of someone isnt making a point. It's not good satire, it's lazy

I think Peter's point while not well articulated was more: if you're going to take this seriously then take it seriously. Do the leg work, read some literature and make your own conclusions.
Destiny has a bad habit of strawmanning left talking points and shifting goal posts. Look at his debate with Burgis. Not everything has to be a debate. Destiny does not have all the answers and the fact that he approaches every conversation as though he has the truth is hindering potential growth.

I think it's moronic how Coffin expected that his convoluted idea of representing numerous different people solely through the image of Destiny should have been apparent. In his video it blatantly looks like he was trying to strawman or mischaracterize Destiny, so Destiny wasn't wrong in thinking it was an attempt at smearing him.

Yeah his vocabulary is pretty standard but there's an awful lot of people with a substandard vocabulary. It's not their fault but it's more common than you'd expect. It's partly because you can get by with a pretty small vocabulary and society tends not to encourage that kind of learning. It does no one any favours as it limits people's capacity to express themselves and encourages elitism and ego stroking in those that have wider vocabularies.

I've been trying to watch this video for about 45 minutes now, but I'm only 6:30 in because I have to pause every time Peter opens his mouth. I thought he recognized that he's awful in a debate, and had moved on with his life. I don't agree with him on much, but I've always respected what he has to say because he always gives me something to think about. Now I just feel foolish for ever listening to male, communist Brittany Pettibone.

to answer peter’s question, in the uk things like dental and vision have a low standard cost on the nhs for each necessary procedure. but if you are on a low-income and can’t afford it, you get dental and vision free...
i guess it’s wrong that rich ppl can get better healthcare and procedures the nhs won’t cover like anything cosmetic? but the nhs is great. i’m broke as hell and i never have to worry abt my healthcare. i know that ppl will work hard to take care of me. private healthcare existing doesn’t affect that.

Coffin was obviously getting emotional in this video but I wanna counter the point Destiny made about climate change being too multi-faceted to just be handled by a binary democratic approval.
Unless Destiny thinks people would do absolutely nothing to mitigate climate change or the problem is even more extremely urgent than it already is considering the IPCC report. Democracy is in favour of mitigating it with at least a small carbon tax. Slowing down the negative effects of climate change will at least give people the time to see the negative effects materialize and that will change even more minds about what sacrifices need to be made for the climate and it'll slowly dissolve the propaganda and lobbying of fossil fuel companies which muck up the democratic process. We should be looking to educate, minimize corporate propaganda and power and get rid of obstacles to democracy like gerrymandering rather than blaming democracy.
