For some unknown reason, I've been on a WILTY binge lately, so when I finally got around to watching Barbie, you can imagine my utter pleasant shock upon seeing Rob in it 😂 Not only was I not expecting him, but my brain had trouble processing him speaking in an American accent without impersonating someone else 😂
@@slyasleep Bob is great, but I've been a huge fan of Lee Mack for awhile, and I'd love to see him in more internationally known things. The man is a comedic genius.
Lin Manuel Miranda performing My Shot < Judi Dench performing Shakespeare from memory < Rob Brydon recreating his entire performance from the Barbie movie word for word with commentary on his process behind the character
Nice! Rob (I hope you read this), we're both fans of your work and we both exclaimed out loud at the theater, "That's Rob Brydon!" And right then, the movie went from great to awesome!
I watched "Barbie" with my wife on New Year's Eve. She doesn't watch British TV as obsessively as I do, so she was surprised when I jumped up in my chair and said, "Rob Brydon! That's Rob Brydon!" Then I had to explain to her about WILTY.
@@Star_Joker I'm trying to ease her in gently; you can't just spring Bob Mortimer on someone, without prepping them first. Start with David Mitchell, move on to Lee Mack, a short course of Aisling Bea, followed by Lucy Beaumont; and then the patient is prepared for the madness that is Bob Mortimer.
I was surprised that this didn’t come up at some point during the big fat quiz of the year because there’s this ongoing joke about how Rob is in everything and now that he was in Barbie even if it was for this extensive emotional scene. He is in everything. everything.
He wasn't a guest on the Big Fat Quiz this year, sadly. If he had been, I'm sure they would have found a way to include that tidbit! Shame he wasn't though because he's always good fun on the BFQOTY - my favourite is still the year he pretended to take over as emcee from Jimmy Carr.
@@felisd yeah a part of me was just kinda silly hoping for something like Jimmy going “this year Barbie has been a phenomenon all around the globe but what really shocked audiences was that rob brydon was even in that” but 2024 pannel was still pretty good (though I’m always said when greg Davies isnt in it).
He used to do stand-up comedy but is mostly a comedy actor and game show host these days. I can't think of any stand-up stuff coming from him in 10 to 15 years.
kkkkkkkkkkkk I could guess that . Barbie does not work. Barbie has everything. How she can afford. Behind Barbie1s luxury a rich elder man is hidden. I thought ken is a loverboy kept by a rich madam from high society.
I can’t believe he took the time to reenact AND explain his role, line by line. What an actor!
As he said, it didn’t take a lot of time. 😂
He and Steve Coogan delve on how to do impressions of Michael Caine in different moods.. Blasting hilarious.
@@karlmortoniv2951 I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious
The whole joke is that it doesn’t take a lot of time
Exactly! I think he should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscar & BAFTA!
Most actors forget their lines immediately after filming, but not Rob Brydon.
I can't believe Rob Brydon spoiled what is clearly the biggest twist moment in the Barbie movie.
I love how the other guests hyped him up and supported him with fantastic reactions! :D
I laughed so much when I saw him in the movie. That was between other hilarious moments in this movie, he did truly steal the show.
It was an amazing moment of going “…Rob Brydon!?” in a theatre. Like when Asim Chaudhry appeared.
When he wins the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, his acceptance speech will last 2 minutes longer than his performance. But he'll deserve it
Rob is such a host. He always takes over bits and who ever is hosting always lets him. I love it.
“I’m trying not to cry”. Brilliant! 🤣
the joy I felt when I saw him in the film can't be put into words
A performance for generations! 😂

I have been doing the exact same lmao. watched 3 of the series in like a week
There‘s hardly anything better. Bob Mortimer should‘ve been in Barbie too though 😉
@@slyasleep Bob is great, but I've been a huge fan of Lee Mack for awhile, and I'd love to see him in more internationally known things. The man is a comedic genius.
Wilty is amazing!!! When I drive long distances, I always listen to a few in a row and they make the drives feel so much shorter... 😂
David Mitchell could've played Barbie's good friend Todd.
Absolutely lovely cameo from him
Love Rob Brydon in all he does. And yes he really steals the show in Barbie despite being in it for only such a short time.
Lin Manuel Miranda performing My Shot < Judi Dench performing Shakespeare from memory < Rob Brydon recreating his entire performance from the Barbie movie word for word with commentary on his process behind the character
It was still a memorable moment in a memorable movie, I made my brother watch it over Christmas, haha
He's basically given out the audio commentary for his entire performance.
Rob Brydon is such a genius, genuinely one of the quickest comedians out there
I love Rob. Saw him with his kids once out in the wild. Very funny man.
Rob Brydon is such a great storyteller and great at making fun of himself.
I went to see Barbie over the summer, and I couldn't believe it when I saw Rob in it. I was like "Whuh....? Am I dreaming?"
The Barbie movie should have put Rob’s character in a package, missed opportunity to do small man in a box.
Honestly obsessed with how many random english comedians made cameos in Barbie
Or... in this case- Welsh
The Oscar is going to him. Guaranteed, 100%.

Tf is we?
It was phenomenal in barbie
0:48 Best 6 Seconds (we got a time)😂😂
Absolutely love this man!
I shrieked with delight when I saw him.

Oh, to be there when she discovers Bob Mortimer...

@@madr309 get some Henning Wehn and Greg Davies too before you get to Bob - they're crazy too, but not quite as crazy as Bob.
You can't hate the guy! Absolute legend!
That's a perfect scene to win an Oscar.
I remember seeing it and thinking "That guy looks like Rob Brydon" but it never crossed my mind that it was actually him.
I loooove Gavin and Stacey. Time for a rewatch!
Loved the barbie movie, one of the best I’ve seen in years. I did do a double take at rob’s cameo though 😂
If someone wants to make a slightly subverted summer comedy film I want it to star these four.
I absolutely loved seeing Rob in Barbie, it was a great surprise ❤❤❤ Love him on WILTY
0:21 That's not me 😅😅😂😅😂😅😂

"i'm trying not to cry" HAHAHAHHA
Rob being Rob 🤣🤣🤣
Oscar. Shoe-in.
The way he milked that. Very well done.
I gasped when I saw him!
Glad this interview was made in the year of 2023
The year where Barbie was made, and released on 20 July 2023
When I saw the movie I’m pretty sure I said “Is that Rob Brydon?” the exact way Mark Ruffalo once said “Is that Paul Rudd?”
Oscar worthy
I'm glad Rob appeared in the movie Barbie despite not being a fan of him. Actually, he's a great storyteller, he's a stand up comedian, right?
He used to do stand-up comedy but is mostly a comedy actor and game show host these days. I can't think of any stand-up stuff coming from him in 10 to 15 years.
He ate that
I do remember that in the movie 😊
Years of “man trapped in a box” to play sugar daddy - a man from a box
I'm just imagining Margot Robbie pissing herself at Nessa and Smithy's antics 😂
Gabin & Stacey, the emperors' new clothes of British TV Comedies
Every film he's in the voice is always one of his impressions of somebody. Pretty sure this his Gore Vidal.
Barbie was what it was because of him, let’s not kid ourselves here.
Rob's acting deserves 5 Mark Ruffalos!
I wanna see rob bryden in more films (preferably with david mitchel and lee mack)
Poor things, Rob didn’t tell the Yanks that “Gavin & Stacey” co-starred the beloved James Corden - sorry, Sheridan Smith
F…I thought that was Hugh Grant😅
Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
The US accent was subtle there
TRUE
and that was the best part of the movie
❤
Sugar daddy ken was the hottest ken🔥fight me
The irony of him saying it’s surprising what good lighting and make up can do whilst sat next to Claudia Winkleman … 😂😂😂
one question... somebody paid for his stunning performance? 🤷♂😂
Well. Now if I ever have to sit thru it, I have something to look forward to. Thank goodness for Rob Brydon!
Steve Coogan could never
I don't know why Emma Stone is not clapping at all at the start
Barbie was not biggest film of the year
92nd !
Mark ruffelo looks haggered to crasses.

… and the worst movie of all times 😂
"The biggest movie of the year" = The WORST movie of the year.
Feel so cheated having paid to stream the Barbie movie. Rob really WAS the best part of the film..the rest of it was awful rubbish !
Lol one more reason to never watch that dreadful film nobody will remember this year
You are not special for not watching it, ok? 😂
