I get the situation. Bike reviews are the only thing that really grows a channel..... we don't do them. Ultimately you need to do what makes you happy. Enjoy the sailing with your family. I'm probably lucky as Carol shares my bike travel interests and we will keep doing that.
Sounds good and sensible Nick, have really enjoyed your stuff and happy to wait for you to post when you can in the future, be it bikes or sailing enjoy family time and see you on the tube sometime soon
An honest assessment, well explained. Completely understandable. Quality, not quantity. Keep up the great work. On a side note, could you let us know where you purchased the storage unit for your lids? Been after something like that for a while. Thanks....
Your core people will still be here ready to watch whenever you're ready to put stuff out. Your boat vids are really good and it comes through. Just do what you want and the worthwhile people that sign up to "Nick" will follow the other channel. Infact, I prefer the sailing vids because it has a nice vibe and something I know next to nothing about, but wish I could have such a hobby. Enjoy👍
You're euro trip on the " white Tiger " is one of my favourite series and I watch plenty. Bought a GT Explorer shortly after. Good luck whatever you do but hope to see another euro trip if nothing else. 😉
A very honest vid Nick and sentiments I echo too. Good luck and I’m also following your sailing channel with great interest. Take care mate and do what you enjoy the most, it’s as simple as that. 👌🏍️ 🛥️
Have always enjoyed your channel, especially the local ride outs and seeing your local roads. I get the bike review thing, but different channels make YT more interesting. Spend time with the family, and do what is best for you, they are your priority, and I will continue to watch the videos. Ride and sail safe.
Best wishes to you Nick in any direction you wish to take. I for one will be happy to watch whatever you choose to put out there and thank you for all past videos.
All the best Nick, appreciate your honesty, all the best for you and your family. Only too aware of how much work is involved in producing even a short video.
With you 100% nick. You need to be fully invested and enjoy. Your loyal subscribers will not be going anywhere and we enjoy whatever content you publish. Good luck buddy
I understand and I think costs can also have an impact for most people the way things are at the moment. I appreciate all the videos you have posted up in the past and if you don't post as many up in the future then that's okay. I will continue the watch both the Bike and the Boat channels and appreciate this will be when you can. All the very best Nick and thank you. 👍
Thanks for the update Nick. Totally understand. I look forward to a video from you when you feel that you have something to share. We've never met, but it feels like I know you. The power of the vlog and youtube. I have enjoyed your company and will continue to do so when you can. Enjoy your time with the family, the boat and the bikes. Cheers mate
You have a great channel Nick and I have followed you for quite a while as your outlook on life & bikes and the way you do things gels with my outlook on life & bikes. Completely appreciate your thoughts. Life gets in the way of stuff, shit happens. Anyway, I will still follow anyrhing you do. I also sail (Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster) and completely know how it can swallow huge amount of time & money 😨 Best of luck with everything. 👍
I have no problem with the change. Life changes and priorities change for us all. I will continue to be a subscriber and enjoy the videos when they are uploaded. I'm super grateful for the content that you have shared with us, take great care of you and yours and be safe in whatever you do. All the best.
I understand completely. I love the videos you post. Your videos are intelligent and very insightful. I'll continue to subscribe and watch whatever you post. BTW, I've also subscribed to your boat channel, which is very interesting even though I do not have a boat.
Fully understand where you're coming from Nick. Do what's best for you mate. I've enjoyed following you and will keep an eye out for your posts in the future and stay subscribed. Best wishes to you and your family
Totally understand nick and family comes first everytime as children grow so fast and it's time you can never claw back and also as you say your wife is equally as important. I'm personally more than happy nick to remain subscribed to your channel and watch any vids on either of your triumphs as and when you choose to have anything new to show. All the best nick enjoy the sailing and the time with the family.
Hi, I’m sorry to hear what you had to say but fully understand what and why you have taken this decision. I for one will miss your videos, they are always entertaining. Do take care and I very much look forward to seeing you again on the channel. All very best wishes from Icemodica. 🏍
You're working full time, so running this channel clearly has a massive impact on any non-work time you have. I'll be happy with a video whenever - I like the quiet honesty of this channel, ie you talking about bikes, touring on them etc because you love it. Take care mate, and I look forward to your next vid...whenever that may be ;-)
Totally understand, it’s as if you’re talking about me. Love my motorcycles but a broader interest is healthy, biking will always be there but you’ve haven’t to overdo it, too much can sometimes spoil it. Anyway good luck in the future what ever you do.
Do what makes you happy RUclips is and should be a bit of fun. I prefer the tours and trips from tubers so these are only out once a trip is done so can be breaks in coming out.
Will miss your rides, Thank-you for all your time and effort. Fully understand, your life and family always comes first. Thanks again Nick. Chow for now.
I get it. I haven’t been doing much with my channel either. Simply because I haven’t had much time to ride, record and edit footage because of family obligations. Life does get in the way and many of us have other interests besides motorcycles. My other passion is Fly-Fishing. I think a once a month video when you have a worthwhile topic is reasonable. I may try to do the same.
No problems with that Nick, will always watch whatever you put up, you have a life of your own and that must come first, anything after that is a bonus for a past time, was looking forward to the August trip vids, many thanks for your honesty, cheers Dave.
I think uploading a video a week when you work full time is one hell of an achievement in itself so much respect there. You have to lead a fulfilling life so I completely get where you're coming from.... It's all about priorities and family trumps all. Good on you for your candid explanation and I'll look forward to your next video whenever it might be. All the best Nick "Live long and Prosper" 👍
It is good to take stock sometimes and re-prioritise if necessary and once an activity starts to become a burden then it must be time for changes to be made. Actually, I think most viewers of this update will appreciate your openness. I hope you enjoy your own lovely machines when you get the time as well as the sailing activities planned with the family. Cheers for now!
I don’t blame you Nick, it has to be a chore doing this RUclips every week. I always loved the view of the northern country a good reminder of how I miss the English countryside. Sending best wishes from Urumchi China (heading him from another work assignment) I saw a bunch of Koreans roll up to my Hotel in Dushanzi China on Harleys, Indians, gold wings and a GS, It was quite the sight to see in the middle of nowhere China. I guess there is some magical road called the Duku highway they came to ride over. Be safe Sir best wishes 🙏🙏🙏
As a recent subscriber, less than a year or so, I can see how it's difficult to maintain. Feeding the algorithm. It's nice to have that engagement with manufacturers etc. but my reason for watching was your trips and tours. Gear reviews, not so much. Doing your own channel on your own terms should have been the goal all along. I subscribe to some that put out content twice a year, big tours etc. which is what they want to do. If making a living off YT is the goal, then feeding the machine is the 2 vids per week. From this subscriber, I get it, no issues here, your vids are enjoyable (except when crashing drones 😊) Family first, work to pay the bills, YT is a hobby. Thx G.
I like the tone of the channel. Always very chilled , although not a sailer I also enjoying the sailing channel and the journey that is taking you on to be fair motorcycling is quite a solitary hobby , anything that brings the family onboard ,no pun intended, and together when you have down time is always going to be a good thing , looking forward to the next post When ever that may be.
All the best with the boat venture Nick. While bikes are brilliant and a way of life for a lot of us , who doesn’t want quality time with the family sailing the Mediterranean? Life is all about experiences and that would definitely tick box with anyone’. Good luck in all that you do and look forward to watching any future uploads when they happen.
Don't worry about content, you do what's right for you, it's all good. I've commented on several channels that I subscribe to, that I'm amazed at the time, trouble and expense you put into your channels, and to do it whilst working full-time must be really difficult. So thank you for your efforts👍
Just do what suits you the core viewers will always stick around i follow both bike and boat channels and enjoy the content you put out You are certainy not letting any of us down
I’m sorry you’ve had to make this difficult decision. Completely understand, there’s more to life than RUclips. Really enjoy your videos and I’m not going anywhere.. thanks for everything you’ve done, might see you in Hadfields 👍🏻
Hi Nick, i understand what your saying about mojo. i have the same problem. once i am out on the bike i love it. The thought of having to put clothing on in hot weather is not good. difference is i am not vlogging, so i fully understand where you're coming from. Glad to hear you are going to continue and you will still get my support. interested in seeing what you do with your boat. take care
It doesn’t cost me anything to stay subscribed. I like to the idea of fewer but more meaningful videos versus videos that don’t convey your interests and passions. I look forward to the next one, whenever it comes out.
I have no interest in reviews Nick so not an issue for me.I watch both your channels and always enjoy your content. That said ,family always first...liked and thanks as always Nick..
Indeed the bike reviews give more views and more subs. I do the occasional review, usually it’s a loaner whilst I have one of my own bikes in for service… or I am considering a purchase. I make vids for my own enjoyment and think you are doing the right thing here by going the same way… BTW I like your cafe rides the most. Cheers and ride safe.
Nick your not the only RUclipsr that's slowing down in the current climate more to the pity, However I will still always look forward to your vids going up, stay safe and enjoy what ever direction life takes. 👍👍
Little disappointed as I was enjoying your channel, videos and ride outs. I have used some of your out routes for myself and enjoyed the roads. Keep the videos coming when you chance 👍
Had a similar experience to you. I created a RUclips channel to document my holidays and bike tours with similar intention (to document activities and for family abroad to see my son growing up over the years). Eventually I found I had this unhealthy obsession in trying to post videos every week to satisfy the RUclips algorithm for more views and subscribers, until it got to the stage where I couldn’t relax and enjoy my holidays because I was trying to set scenes and film everything, and no longer enjoyed creating the videos afterwards because it had become such a chore. Thankfully my GoPro became unreliable and stopped me being able to create weekly videos, and I subsequently took a long break from it all. I now only film bike tours with my mates or a day of a ski holiday with my family (and not every day).
Thanks Tony, 🙏 hope you’re on the road to recovery. 1 video a month is all I can commit to atm so I can focus on family and other commitments to keep me in my happy place 😁
Mate, you gotta do what's best for you, at the end of the day family must Come first. If it means one vid a month so be it, anymore would be a bonus. People will leave some will stay, me I'm gonna stay put fella. 👍👍
Afternoon Nick, I agree that anyone who thinks creating RUclips videos in our niche is a good way of making money, needs to wobble their head 😂. I fully understand the commitment required, it’s not easy, life gets in the way, but then we feel guilty for not putting regular content out. For a lot of us it is a hobby, anything we earn is a bonus. All the best with the sailing, and look forward to the bike content as and when 👍
Morning Nick I’m off today doing my VAT 😮 I don’t blame you there’s a lot more to life and realised that myself i only upload the odd video to suit me.. you do great videos and come across really well ! but it’s a huge responsibility and once you’re on that road then you feel compelled to take the time to do it, thankfully that never applied to me and I can make proper money doing my own job and just doing my hobbies on the side and maybe an odd video, but I do respect people who work and put the Time in but it would just leave you with no life in my opinion.?? If you’re retired then it’s great but as you say biking channels compared to others are quite small in relative terms to others.. relax and enjoy life without the extra work involved😊😊 Look forward to hearing from you whenever it’s suits you have a great week Phil
Agree with you. Do what’s best for yourself. And at the end of the day it’s your channel. Obviously boating/yachting is a massive commitment, I’ve looked into doing it but cost and training and learning curve for a solo sailing is prity big and have hobbies like mc is expensive enough. And I’m saving to potently emergrate ether aus or can especially baring in mind I’m going to be forced to close my business because of the 2030 legislation witch I carnt justify the investment in property and assets to stay legal. I’ve noticed with revews of bikes there are good and not so good reviewers and I feel some seem like there forced to review a type of bike that isn’t there cup of tea but creat a very negative review or even the other way over look negative and positives. Bit like my baby r18 transcontinental, I love it and probably my bike for life, but I know it’s not for everyone. But for me it’s a very capable touring bike and I’ve gelled with it. I’ve noticed some reverse were very misleading and clearly haven’t spent any serious time with the bike. But look forward to see future content even if it a few times a year.
Thanks Stevo, really appreciate you writing this comment and really appreciate you tuning in and i look forward to some banter in the near future. Cheers Nick 🙏
Your comment about how you cannot review a bike properly in an hours ride is spot on. I am so fed up with these youtubers that churn out motorcycle reviews that are undoubtedly done this way. I think the best motorcycle youtube videos are the travel stuff and rides out. Glad your not stopping the channel.
Got to do what you want to do. If that's boats, then so be it. I think we all have to be OK with that. Bike reviews get views, but they seem like a lot of work and calling them anything other than 'impressions' is disingenuous. Cake runs and random blogs might not make a channel, but don't underestimate how much people who subscribe to you just want to hear you talking about stuff. You make it look easy, and I know it isn't, but I think a lot of people like those kind of random videos with no real 'point'. I'm sticking with you!
Tbh I'd say that RUclips is a strange creature, you start just putting a few odd videos on then people subscribe and you start to feel the pressure to keep making videos, and somewhere in all this you realise it's taking over your life, time is precious and your life is important, as is your family and wife, so never feel bad for your life decisions, best of luck in your future 😉👍🏻
I come for the trips to cafes and the monologues, they're excellent👍 Not remotely interested in bike reviews. Keep doing what you want to do, for you and your family; after all, it's your life 🫡
I get the situation. Bike reviews are the only thing that really grows a channel..... we don't do them. Ultimately you need to do what makes you happy. Enjoy the sailing with your family. I'm probably lucky as Carol shares my bike travel interests and we will keep doing that.
Cheers Richard 🙏 keep up the good work on your channel, tuning in when can 👍
Thanks for being open . Enjoy

An honest assessment, well explained. Completely understandable. Quality, not quantity. Keep up the great work. On a side note, could you let us know where you purchased the storage unit for your lids? Been after something like that for a while. Thanks....
Thanks 🙏 yes the storage unit was from Homebase

We go bike camping on a Friday after work and home by midday Saturday. Means we get a bike camping trip in with very little disruption to family life.
Awesome 👍

Morning Nick
I’m off today doing my VAT 😮
I don’t blame you there’s a lot more to life and realised that myself i only upload the odd video to suit me.. you do great videos and come across really well ! but it’s a huge responsibility and once you’re on that road then you feel compelled to take the time to do it, thankfully that never applied to me and I can make proper money doing my own job and just doing my hobbies on the side and maybe an odd video, but I do respect people who work and put the Time in but it would just leave you with no life in my opinion.??
If you’re retired then it’s great but as you say biking channels compared to others are quite small in relative terms to others..

No interest In reviews or boats but really in joy the videos on trips out , keep up the good work
Thanks Graham, 🙏
I enjoy the tours and rideouts, very little interest in reviews
keep plugging away I will certainly keep following
Your comment about how you cannot review a bike properly in an hours ride is spot on. I am so fed up with these youtubers that churn out motorcycle reviews that are undoubtedly done this way. I think the best motorcycle youtube videos are the travel stuff and rides out. Glad your not stopping the channel.
Thanks John 👍🙏
Thanks
Wow thanks Tim 🙏👍
Just a small thanks for all the work you have put into the videos over the years!! Love the sailing channel by the way 👍👍
Just do what you have to do mate enjoy life 👍
Sometimes reality is a cold, hard shiv in your side....
For sure it is 👍
Got to do what you want to do.
Many thanks, always good to see and hear your thoughts as with most genuine comments i get on this channel, appreciate every one. Thanks again Nick 👍
Nothing wrong with posting less frequently
Thanks, appreciated 👍
RUclips is alot of work for little reward. Your content will be missed but life, family and time is more important.
Cheers Martyn 🙏👍
Change the channel to MotoSailUK
🤣🤣
I come for the trips to cafes and the monologues, they're excellent👍 Not remotely interested in bike reviews. Keep doing what you want to do, for you and your family; after all, it's your life 🫡
Awesome thanks for your comments 👍🙏
