What an amazing spot - far off the well beaten Prague path that is most of what we ever see of Czechia! The graffito style is interesting to see close up but when you pan out, the effect is truly stunning. And I did not know that the nobility of the day all spoke French, what an affectation! :D I love the concept of your series, look forward to seeing more.
There's so much great stuff to see in Czechia; as much as I love Prague, it's just a tiny slice of a country with incredible history. Very cheap prices and incredibly friendly locals - plus most people under 40 can speak some English which makes getting around very easy too. And yep - for a couple of centuries basically every aristocrat in Europe spoke French, even amongst themselves! It was the language of international trade and diplomacy, and if you've ever heard the term "lingua franca" - that's where it comes from :)
wow, I actually said whoa out loud when seeing all of the "grafitti" sketching on the outside of the Litomyšl Castle! The Murals are off the hook also. I definitely need to add this to my Czech Rep Bucket List. Thank you Joel for sharing this with us!
Love how it's so open and airy, compared to most castles that makes one feel confined. I'm impressed by the sgraffito, too! I just love UNESCO heritage sites! I wish I could visit all of them!
What an interesting and unique building! I've not been to the Czech Republic but need to visit. I loved the graffiti and imagine the many craftsmen and women working to embellish the building. The arches are incredible too. Thanks for taking us inside as well.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed! Czechia is great and I'd highly recommend a visit. My main tip would be that although Prague is great, you'd be doing the rest of the country a disservice by skipping it as so many people do
Oh wow, this castle is beautiful...Next time I come back to Prague, I need to head out of that city and explore more of Czech Republic. Love the old style of graffiti. These people really knew how to live...Great video as always...Whats next?
Thanks mate! Got a few more to come from Czech Republic and Slovakia, then next up is Germany! We've just spent about six weeks travelling around to all the WH sites here which was a lot of fun - lots of variation too 👍
It looks so beautiful. When I was in Czech Republic I found our they have lots of castles which look like a palace. Is this something I think or you agree with me too?
No you're absolutely right - there's heaps of castles in Czech Republic! Will be featuring a few more on my channel over the next week or so since they're often World Heritage listed!
We were actually on a group tour inside, though it was entirely in Czech so I felt comfortable wandering around filming and only paying the guide a minimum of attention!
What's your favourite castle?

Litomsyl Castle looks so beautiful. The graffiti design and the technique of doing it is really fascinating.
Very time consuming too, though I guess they were well paid for their efforts! It certainly worked out well :)

It's a pretty cool spot! Hopefully you get better weather than we had that day 😂

I hope I can visit all of them! This was about 192 I think, I'm up to 227 now - long way to go though. This was a great stop!

I really like Czrech Republic. I need to go back and really explore more. Historical graffiti. That is pretty cool.
It's a fantastic country, with so much to discover outside of Prague - highly recommended :)

We spent an entire week just driving around Germany going from castle to castle. We haven't visited many castles in Czech Republic yet.
Loads of great castles in both Germany and Czechia! I've got a few more coming up over the next couple of days on the channel, keep an eye out ;)
Another treasure, and not many people around! You can explore it to your heart's content without being pushed along with the cattle lol!

It's not ,,graffiti", is ,,Sgraffito".
Yes that's correct, not sure how I managed to mess that up twice in a row! Thanks for watching 👍
