This song brings back memories of me and my crush at my friends lakehouse. I remember it like it was yesterday. Everyone had gone to bed upstairs and her and I were just vibing to band of horses all night downstairs.
This band was such a huge part of my life at one point. They’re forever one of my all time favorites but I was deeply in love with the sounds they created in 2007-2010.
I was just about to say the same thing, I found them whenever the skate video “lakai fully flared” came out and I think it might’ve been 07-08, such a great time. Glad to relate to the way you expressed it 🤙
14 fucking years ago. Incredible. I'm 26 now but I remember downloading this from iTunes for 99p to my iPod back when I was 14 maybe 15, 100% will see these guys at some point
Great track and the video is a wonderful reminder of summer and good friends. Here (in Denmark) the ground is covered with snow and summer is far far away.
I stumbled across a beautiful RUclips video on the history of the Great Salt Lake with this song as the background music. I opened Shazam and 10-seconds later I was introduced to a wonderful band that I resonate with emotionally. I used my Spotify subscription to listen to Band of Horses online catalog and I was blown away. I love music and its power to transport you to another time and place. This band has done that (for me, anyway) like few bands have, recently. The story the band tells through beautiful lyrics and hypnotic rhythms is inspiring. I am glad I found this band and even more so, that Band of Horses consistently produce amazing, emotional, and transformative music. Thank you to @BandofHorses for creating and sharing your beautifully emotional art.
Darren Taylor I would suggest you to listen to Grizzly Bear, specifically Daniel Rossen - Sleeping Ute, A Simple Answer, While You Wait for the Others, Sun in Your Eyes
Yes! We must be kindred spirits, every word, I felt EVERY WORD! music brings us together in such a majikal way, I shit you not, music plays in my house, on average, 6 hours a day, probably more but I'm prone to exaggerate in my passions, trying to stop that lol
I took a peak at your channel, now I KNOW why I felt all connected to, you are the ONLY PERSON I KNOW, well not know, know but.... WHO LISTENS TO Heilung, Crazy!
That's beautiful. They are one of the most wonderful bands I've ever got to see live. If you think they sound good on the record just imagine. I'm glad you found them 😊 Great Salt Lake, Laredo, Older, Dilly, and No One's Gonna Love You are my favorites. No One's Gonna Love You makes me cry every time because it makes me think of my mother
If you do not like it it do not listen to it. As a musician I like their sound and his voice. A lot of you sound like you are jaded. Let it go, you can like something or not, if not move on why try and tear something down. That is the whole problem anymore. It is easy to sit at home and put things down, it is a whole different thing to actually create something your self. Whether you write it yourself or even redo a cover. Power to the artists and musicians all over good and bad keep striving.
I do not care who does not like them, I think they are awesome. I have not heard clear voices like this since the 60's. I am a big fan of Band of Horses. What is even better about this song too is.... I grew up in Salt Lake. Yeah... yet it is not my favorite one by them. I like the song I can pronounce ...I am sure most of you know the one I am talking about it came out on Cease to Begin. Thanks for sharing this video.
This day was reminiscent of my afternoons in the past. Meet at the field, play the game, bring the gals and the keg, play for fun, and go home as friends, whether you won or lost. Not today. Police would already know of your plans, either by the games played prior, or a neighbor who never understood fun and made a phone call.. Cheers BOH. Cheers.
remember when I was younger and MTV was cool... they had an awesome show at nights called "120 minutos" ( mtv latin america) and this video was one of the best they used to show to us, I miss those days!
@Kelspeed1972 WHAT?! Impure how? I'm a 41 yo dad who's taking his 16 yo son and his buddy to this concert in Salt Lake City. It's one of my fav bands and one of his fav bands. Great music. As a dad I'm thrilled this is the kind of music my son digs. I liked your reply though. But as a dad I'd suggest cutting back on the WT... ;-) Peace.
@Mrburton35 im actually seeing them this tuesday in SLC and im mormon so your religion has nothing to do with your taste in music, good to see someone else who isn't completely ignorant
I love how RUclips is the CLOSEST thing to an actual time machine, this song is a CLASSIC.
This song brings back memories of me and my crush at my friends lakehouse. I remember it like it was yesterday. Everyone had gone to bed upstairs and her and I were just vibing to band of horses all night downstairs.
@xTheBOISx
Hell yeah.
This band was such a huge part of my life at one point. They’re forever one of my all time favorites but I was deeply in love with the sounds they created in 2007-2010.
were on the same boat man :))
I was just about to say the same thing, I found them whenever the skate video “lakai fully flared” came out and I think it might’ve been 07-08, such a great time. Glad to relate to the way you expressed it 🤙
I completely agree and I'm forever thankful I found this unique group
Hey you know what that was a truly great time to be alive my friend. It’s still great to be alive! But those were simple times.
Same here and still is!!
Can't belive this song is 11 yrs old now... times goes so fast.... what a ride
13 y/o now! times goes so fast. we are riding to death at last. wish we can not think about it...:(
Youth goes fast

14 fucking years ago.
Incredible. I'm 26 now but I remember downloading this from iTunes for 99p to my iPod back when I was 14 maybe 15, 100% will see these guys at some point
was it from the Emerica skate vid part that introduced you to the Band as well?
I’m 56 and from the 80’s era but the moment I heard this song I fell in love, such a unique talented band
You got that exactly right...sounds like my 80s baseball summer experience
I heard this song for the first time whilst driving on I 80 making my biggest move to the unknown world of Salt Lake City. Very comforting.
It's a beautiful and amazing place to live, make your house a home, good luck!
I moved to slc, greatest and worst moment in my life so far, those three years.
It's gonna be all white, buddy.

Im literally going through this right now. Moving to Utah.
This record makes me cry. Respect.
Me too ❤️
Why ??? Its about the singers aversion to going to party's 😂 its how he feels everyone shows forced fake emotions 😂
This band is the greatest discovery i've done recently
Same here! Besides my faith too :)
opino igualmente.
I’m obsessed with song and it took me 3 weeks to find it. I heard it playing at Walmart lol
It's good to read comments like these.
Little did Tristan know, he was early to the party…
Drinking beers, BBQ'ing, and playing a really bad friendly game of ball in the summer is the best time to be had.
My all time favorite of theirs, hands down. Music just doesn't get any better than this song right here.
yes it does mate.

takes you back to the good times youve had, and fast forwards you to the good times to come. well done, well done.
So much Nostalgia, used to listen to this all the time “back in the day”
Lived in Utah for 2 1/2 years. Miss it everyday. It's so beautiful!
And I'm a born and raised Cali chick. Says a lot!

God, at least a thousand of these views have come from me these past few years. One of my favourite bands in the World!
4 years of deadly roads... long way home...and this song... so much memories
I wore this song out so much back in the winter of 2011 and it always takes me back.
Last night was amazing!! I loved how they called every song they played "The Great Salt Lake.." and played it again for the encore!
Now seeing the video I know why this song makes me feel good. Their music is so beautiful.
These guys just have too much fun! It's great to see how much clean fun a band can have with family and friends. Awesome!!!

One of the best songs ever made. I love this band
I saw them a couple of months ago in Dallas. Excellent show.

Well, I am sure I could steer. " :-)

I'm so lonely. This video makes me wish I hadn't gotten on the career track so young and so intently. I miss weed and softball.
@DarrylXe For the young bucks about to lose their social lives: has it paid off compared to your peers?
This video with this incredible music shows the life I've ever dreamed of😊. It amazes me to tears. Where is this?
I just discovered this band and I can say that I already love it and it's one of my fav bands.
Saw them open for Foo Fighters in Sweden, Stockholm, was awesome! Would love to see them as the main band!
Totally love Band of Horses, they are just amazing :3

I never left, cease to begin is an all time classic to be revered. Hope you're having a blessed day, 12 years later.
This song and video are so much of what I love about America

I am seeing them in June and so so excited, waited a long time to see them:)

Hi!
Hey
Yo
I love this song
remember when I was younger and MTV was cool... they had an awesome show at nights called "120 minutos" ( mtv latin america) and this video was one of the best they used to show to us, I miss those days!
I wish they had more songs like this.
Listen to In Need of Repair. It's off their new album. I'm at this song now cause it reminded me of it. 🔥
But as a dad I'd suggest cutting back on the WT... ;-)
Peace.
What a great video , i love suburbia.
this is video is so Seattle, the ball fields on queen anne. so awesome.
I prefer this version to the one on their album. Seems to flow better. Either way SUCH A TUNE!
What did we learn today kids? I learned that being in a great band does not require any type of athletic coordination or ability.
Adam Russell this lifted me up today
They are fantastic =D
