Freeze dry the stuff to make tortilla and use a tortilla press to make fresh tortilla and the add your taco stuff
I've watched several people do freeze drying, some freeze their food before putting it in the freeze dryer. This saves them a step and time. God bless.

Wait! Did I miss you announcing that you got a Harvest Right? Or is this the announcement? I freeze dried my left over chicken noodle casserole and it reconstituted perfectly. Chicken, noodles, veggies, sauce. Same with other meals. Reconstituting can get a bit tricky. I mix food types in separate trays in same run. It doesn’t matter. Extra dry time is key but you cannot over do it. You can’t remove too much moisture. You remove ALL moisture. But try reconstituting those tacos.

It will dry it but I'm not sure how your going to evenly rehydrate it. That being said, we do have some freeze dried tamales and the directions say to set, still in wrapper, in a mug and pour boiling water down the center and let set for 20 minutes and then pour off the extra liquid.
That's so cool but you probably should be careful you could wind up plugged up tighter than who knows what like you said plenty of liquid 👍🙏

I feel your pain Krista. I really do. Lol! Wonder if you got some better tacos it would taste even better.
Although taco bell is a guilty pleasure food that we all would eat if SHTF I would use the taco bell seasoning and leaner ground beef and make them at home. A person could do chicken and fish tacos as well. Possibilities are endless here.

Just get the ingredients.. Dry them. TB beans n meat are dehydrated just find a supplier.

I prefer fruit and marshmallows freeze dried to fresh. I don't know if I can handle freeze dried meats and that kind of thing including tacos.

I didn’t think it would taste the same.
Brad, you can freeze dry the tacos shell with meat because we make shredded beef in the shell and freeze them for our church fundraiser. We make 3000 tacos and pull them out and deep fry them .
I think they will freeze dry but how do you rehydrate?????.....wait and see.......

They need to have the the oil changed often and for a filter you need a roll of exta cheap t.p. My sister and Hubby just bought one. I cant rember what the name brand was though.

We voted "no" that this would not work. I thought that you would re-hydrate it and that would be difficult with the complete taco.
We have a Harvest Right freeze dryer and use it very often. This month, we are keeping it busy with pureed pumpkin that was left from our pumpkin patch. We have done fruits and vegetables and casseroles and cooked meat.
This idea of tacos is crazy, though. We may have to try that next week.

I’m fairly new to your channel. I began storing extra foods about a year ago due to husband being out of work longer than he ever has.
I’m trying to learn as I go about being prepared. I’m leaning more and more toward
wanting to be prepared when the SHTF. I’ve been wanting a freeze dryer. I want to use it to prepare food to store for both human foods as well as real meat pet food. I have come close to buying a used freeze dryer but want to make sure I spend that much money on the best model for my needs. I could really use your advice on buying one.
