I think Dan is experiencing the same thing I was when i bought this game on GOG. The game's speed is somehow linked to framerate, meaning that it plays faster than it should. This also means that the lava sanctuary is literally impossible unless you fix this, because the statue walks into the lava and kills you before the cutscene ends.
No. It's just a bonus ending if picked you wanted the treasure. If you pick the other ending you take the elixir of life back to Clarke and go through about another 3 hours worth of game including plum surfing on lava; running through a level of giant spiders and flying a rocket. And that's just a taster.
If there was a Completes... on this, I'd suggest doing it playing the PS2 version, Rayman: Revolution. It had an amazing hubworld, and a lot of improved aspects!
no one will forget the procastinators that was the best part of old dan that and the high pitched "WHAT" THAT WAS THE BEST OF YOU DAN THE BEST and your computer being a jet engine THAT WAS THE BEST OF YOU DAN THE BEST.
You're not on drugs... You're just playing a game made by the french. Which... Is I admit sometimes hard to tell apart from being on drugs... But still. Not drugs, technically.
The reason the game seems fast is that when you play this game on a modern PC, it doubles the framerate, which actually doubles the speed of the game, which makes various sections extremely difficult, including the Sssam part, and many of the walking shell parts, for which it also messes up the collisions and jumping arcs. It also makes part of the game literally impossible because it makes you die in a section you have no control over. Luckily you can fix this by modifying a file somewhere, something I wish I'd known before I completed half the game at 2x speed.
So like this game was the shit back in the day. I used to play this with my father. We'd take turns playing levels. This game was my childhood. Literally.
something that fucking terrified me as a kid, is that i got to the treasure crustacean, pick "treasure" and then my ps2 and screen went dead .... later i discovered that we had a perfectly timed power-cut, but it fucking terrified me.
I remember this game! I remember it being amazing because it was open world, or at least felt like it was, although I was too dumb and young at the time to be able to do literally anything but the intro. Ah, nostalgia.
I just came here cos I was browsing Rayman on YT out of nostalgia and sadness, and came here, I've never come across this channel before, but I might watch this entire series even tho I've 100 percented the whole game, cos I miss it ;(
Dan should totally play Rayman M with his dad/Emma/people from Nerdcubed online. Also play rayman 3, I played Rayman 2 and 3 but remember 3 far more, I still have those surfing levels going through my head
I swear this game had voice acting when I played it. I mean I did play the PS1 version so maybe it was exclusive to that version because there's no voice acting on the 3DS version either.
There's a remake on the ps2 called Rayman Revolution - it's more of an open-world thingy and there are all kinds of power-ups that you can buy (instead of getting them through normal gameplay). If you ever wanted to play an updated version, check it out :D
The reason many sections are harderx like Ssssssam's swamp area, is because newer computers are faster, maybe there are some tools you can limit it with?
When i was a kid i got stuck at the part the video ends at because no matter what choice i picked the game crashed. Played on an old XP or 95 laptop that was absolutely Massive and sounded kinda like the launch ps4. Only got to finish the game a few years before this video :) fantastic game.
you should still upload the video but do it as private and put the link in the description like you do with the edited and full nerdcubed online videos
I remember not being able to progress in this game, because I couldn't speak English yet so I didn't know that the guy told you to go back into the previous level.
I never completed this game because there was a level with a spider(or some kind of arachnid thing) and i just stopped playing from there. Then there was that fire level with moving platforms and lava and shit that pissed me off to no end.
Oh my god i played this when i was so young. The nostalgia is so real! And that slidey bit was the bast bit of the game when i was way younger. I felt like it was better.
I remember having the demo for this game but never actually owning the full thing. I played that demo so many god damn times . I am so gonna buy it now. Also please upload the old video Dan!
I only ever played Rayman: Revolution.. It was a remake of this game that was a little more free-roamy. This still brings back nostalgia, though.. Man.. I should go and buy a playstation or something..
I used to play this game when I was very little. Never beat it. This one level where a monster chases you and hands come out of the walls scared me so I never got passed it. Should probably go back and try again.
in Rayman 3 Murphy (the whispering frog thing) confirms by reading the manual for the game that Rayman makes a chopper out of his hair
Ubisoft. This. HD remaster. Now.
It's been remade multiple times. DS and 3DS. It doesn't need yet another remake.
Resolution remake
Agent Paradox but how many people own nintendo?
I have the 3rd remastered version
It got a pseudo-remake on the PS2 as well as Rayman: Revolution. So, yeah.
"What does a robot pirate dream about?"
Illegally downloading various files and software, probably.
I would've never expected a 4:3 video from Dan. Finally, a time for my 4:3 monitor to shine!
;_;
You could've uploaded both...?
bobby bobkinson ih
UPLOAD THE OLD VERISION!!
It is his hair, as stated on the wikipedia "He has the ability to use his hair to glide and float by spinning it at a rapid speed"
I LOVED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS YOUNGER
Me too!
I think this game is playing faster than it should be. I've never known the game to be this fast.

Connor was here I played Rayman 2 on emulator and can comfirm it's supposed to be slower.
Timebolt was that really the whole game???
No. It's just a bonus ending if picked you wanted the treasure. If you pick the other ending you take the elixir of life back to Clarke and go through about another 3 hours worth of game including plum surfing on lava; running through a level of giant spiders and flying a rocket.
And that's just a taster.
Timebolt ah OK thanks
This was almost an entirely different game to the original game, yet both have generally aged rather well.
If there was a Completes... on this, I'd suggest doing it playing the PS2 version, Rayman: Revolution. It had an amazing hubworld, and a lot of improved aspects!
"Who celebrates by shouting their own name?"
Leeroy Jenkins.
To be honest with you, the hair/ears are only lifting the weight of his head, the rest of his body just follows cause magic.
I like to think that the Teensies operate under the same principle as the Abyss Watchers
no one will forget the procastinators that was the best part of old dan that and the high pitched "WHAT" THAT WAS THE BEST OF YOU DAN THE BEST and your computer being a jet engine THAT WAS THE BEST OF YOU DAN THE BEST.
thats hair my dude
"I dream about digital booty all the time."
Dan, this is what happens when you leave your porn on when you go to sleep.
Dan, please make a complete serie out of this game.
"It's Majora's other mask!"
This game was my life
Hair
Ears.
Just look at other pics of rayman, its obviously hair
wrong
Underscorer or you can play rayman 3 where murphy says its his hair
Yeah in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, in the tutorial it says make a helicopter out of your hair
dan i think you're underestimating your channel's subscriber's sense of nostalgia
I need that upload dan please!!
I remember being 3 or 4 and sitting on my dads knee watching him play this game. The best childhood memories ever.
You're not on drugs... You're just playing a game made by the french.
Which... Is I admit sometimes hard to tell apart from being on drugs... But still. Not drugs, technically.
as a kid i had Rayman 3 on the PS2 and it was one of my absolute favourite games of all time, wish i still had a working PS2 to play it
I remember having the remake of this for the PS2, Rayman Revolution. The main difference is that it didn't have a level select thing at all
The reason the game seems fast is that when you play this game on a modern PC, it doubles the framerate, which actually doubles the speed of the game, which makes various sections extremely difficult, including the Sssam part, and many of the walking shell parts, for which it also messes up the collisions and jumping arcs. Please do a complete series on this! It's a classic!
So like this game was the shit back in the day. I used to play this with my father. We'd take turns playing levels. This game was my childhood. Literally.
COMPLETES SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please
something that fucking terrified me as a kid, is that i got to the treasure crustacean, pick "treasure" and then my ps2 and screen went dead .... later i discovered that we had a perfectly timed power-cut, but it fucking terrified me.
I remember this game!

Nerdcubed challenges: complete THAT level in Rayman 2 you have to go to another level to compete.
Dan should totally play Rayman M with his dad/Emma/people from Nerdcubed online. Also play rayman 3, I played Rayman 2 and 3 but remember 3 far more, I still have those surfing levels going through my head
Would've enjoyed a side-by-side comparison between the new Dan to the old Dan, uploading both the videos at the same time
How about a Jak and Daxter lets play? Was and still is one for my favourite Trilogies, anyone else? Just me? Okay then
Yeah, same for me, would love to see Dan do a cover it, hear his thoughts on it
Yeah, it would be interesting
This is also true
You've totally got to play Jak II and Jak 3, The Jak II was particularly amazing and Jak 3 has some excellent reveals
I think you mean Ratchet and Clank
"Who celebrates by shouting their own name?" ~Dan
"I Duddits!" ~Douglas "Duddits" Cavell
I swear this game had voice acting when I played it. I mean I did play the PS1 version so maybe it was exclusive to that version because there's no voice acting on the 3DS version either.
in CounterSpy, you climb ladders really fast, which is great for stealth.
The memories oh god the memories this game is bringing back this game was my childhood
God Damnit Dan, Never had to mention the old video.... but nooo now you teased and now we want the video
I used to love this game. It was one of my favorites and it's awesome to see people wo liked the 'underworld' level as much as I did :D
wow, remember playing this when growing up, probably my favorite childhood game
There's a remake on the ps2 called Rayman Revolution - it's more of an open-world thingy and there are all kinds of power-ups that you can buy (instead of getting them through normal gameplay). If you ever wanted to play an updated version, check it out :D
YES DAN! FUCK GOLDEN OREOS!!!
I think it's like a case of Alolan Diglett/Dugtrio, it works both ways.
Hoodlum Havoc keeps mixing in my head with Conker's Bad Fur Day....
The reason many sections are harderx like Ssssssam's swamp area, is because newer computers are faster, maybe there are some tools you can limit it with?
Oh man I remember this game. Didn't have a memory pack to save so when I was renting this I had my console on for 2 weeks solid. Good times.
In this episode, Dan confuses water for fire.
Wait,
If Dan is returning to stuff from the past, then...
STILL WAITING FOR THE COMMUNITY LET'S PLAY OF THE SHIP, DAN!!!!!!
I thought Rayman during his victory animation said: YAY! GRANDMA!
Nobody wants gold oreos, we want quadruple filling vanilla oreos.
When i was a kid i got stuck at the part the video ends at because no matter what choice i picked the game crashed. Played on an old XP or 95 laptop that was absolutely Massive and sounded kinda like the launch ps4. Only got to finish the game a few years before this video :) fantastic game.
I actually gave up on the swamp level because of how hard it was for me. This brings back memories
you should still upload the video but do it as private and put the link in the description like you do with the edited and full nerdcubed online videos
HOLY SHIT THAT MAIN MENU MUSIC BROUGHT A NOSTALGIA ATTACK WITH IT!
if dan reuploaded his old video he would give us a heart attack with the
*HELLOOOOO PROCRASTINATORS!*
did he do it back then? i cant remember
What's hilarious is just yesterday I downloaded the rom for this game and started playing it and he did this video today. What a weird coincidence.
I remember not being able to progress in this game, because I couldn't speak English yet so I didn't know that the guy told you to go back into the previous level.
OH MY GOD THE MAIN MENU MUSIC. The nostalgia....
its hair because in rayman 3 murfy reads the manual and says "The manual claims that you can make a chopper outta your hair"
NerdCubed Completes: Rayman 2, Rayman 3
Thought maybe I'd misremembered how hard the sam section was and dan was just gonna blitz through it but nooope.
Matt edited this one! You can see the effect of our 4:3 black bar vote!
I never completed this game because there was a level with a spider(or some kind of arachnid thing) and i just stopped playing from there. Then there was that fire level with moving platforms and lava and shit that pissed me off to no end.
It's hair, I know this because of Rayman 3 - "make a chopper out your hair!"
Oh man, this brings back memories. Hoodlum Havoc has been on the best ps2 games ever made
"Fur makes things scarier"
So hairless cats are scarier than regular cats? I thought so.
For some reason, when I was younger, I would always read the pirate's name as “Razorbread” and not “Razorbeard”. No, I’m not dyslexic.
Seems like every time I see this game, it's a different version with different voicelines and different hub world systems.
Oh my god i played this when i was so young. The nostalgia is so real! And that slidey bit was the bast bit of the game when i was way younger. I felt like it was better.
Me at the start of the video:
Wow, I should play this again.
Me watching the part with Ssssam:
Oh yeah.... fuck this game....
I'm surprised the -mystery- video wasn't the old footage...
I remember having the demo for this game but never actually owning the full thing. I played that demo so many god damn times . I am so gonna buy it now. Also please upload the old video Dan!
Butterfly with cartoon face. Lovely.
I remember this game so differently. probably because I played the PS1 version. I don't remember that ending at all.
you have the memory of a goldfish with disembodied floating fins
Please do a complete series of Rayman 3 hoodlum havoc
Dan, you've always been funny. That's why I've been a fan since the minecraft videos.
Beat up Globox in Rayman 3 and he says. "You were a lot nicer in Rayman 2..."
I only ever played Rayman: Revolution.. It was a remake of this game that was a little more free-roamy. This still brings back nostalgia, though.. Man.. I should go and buy a playstation or something..
"Digital Boot - The new album by Daft Punk as they venture into hip hop
hey dan you should do a complete series on this
Nathan Holt no
Nathan Holt YESYESYESYESYES
William Chubb it will be amazing
Nathan Holt It shall
God I would absolutely love that. This game is probably one of my favorites from the n64.
Dan you should play tonic trouble its another less well known rayman esk game made by ubisoft around the same time and its amazing
It's rayman: Released five separate times under different names!
OH MAN, THIS IS MY FAVOURITE FUCKING GAME.
One of the greatest games I ever played in my childhood.
the final boss of this game is what inspired From Software to make the Souls games...
Rayman 3 video next? That'd be delightful.
Yes! Loved this game when I was younger!
Well, Rayman Revolution... Basically the same thing though!
Upload old one please! We need "Hello Procrastinators!" back!
Nerdcubed finally actually 100% completes... Rahman 2?
_Oh my god the_ *_memories are flooding back to me._*
i still want the old video no matter how terrible it is
I wish Ubisoft would make a 3d rayman game again. Open-world or not, I'd buy it. It'd be such *iconic* decision.
Why don't we combine it? He flys with his hears
I used to play this game when I was very little. Never beat it. This one level where a monster chases you and hands come out of the walls scared me so I never got passed it. Should probably go back and try again.
Was it Cave of Bad Dreams?
ButtonMasher yes. Also after watching the video I can't believe it actually scared me. I was really young.
So Dan, which one is the better level? The Cave of Bad Dreams or The Milkman Conspiracy?
