This is why when said person goes back in time. They bring something from the future to show they are the real deal. If Dan brought a smart phone to the 1980's, with footage of 9/11. They have no choice but to believe him.
The only thing the sliders are used for is for changing the ratio between the categories. For instance, having Engine, Gameplay, and Story/Quests all high just means that you're character/team will work an equal amount of time on each. Rather than doing that, you should have a category that is focused on more for different types of games, you'll learn what each genre works best with after you research your past games and what worked well and what didn't.
