Fun Fact: the (albeit inferior) DSiWARE version of Rayman is on the 3DS Virtual Console. Yeah, some of the music is missing and some of the levels are changed, but you can run around in Band Land and the Blue Mountains while taking a dump. Also yes, the little blue disco balls are called "Tings". Even the DSIWARE Magician Man says "Ten Tings please." before you go to a bonus stage.
The DSi version is the easiest because it gives you six health points, double if you get that red P thing. But it’s still not my favorite because it lacks so much of the music.

Here's a tip to anyone stuck on the scorpion boss: His attacks follow your fist, not your body. Also, there's an extra life code that not only gives you 99 lives but refills your health completely, and you can use it as many times as you want. It completely breaks the game, and I love it for that reason.
I've never seen such a mixed game in my life; the first half is one of the great gems of the platformer genre, while the second half is a marathon of unfair bullshit worthy of the Angry Video Game Nerd.

If nothing else, Ubisoft learned from mistakes. Some of the stuff in Rayman Origins and Legends can get hard as balls, but with the removal of lives and by extension game overs, your only obstacle to stop you playing is your own endurance.
Caddy didn't even mention one of the worst parts of the game: hidden objects. Sometimes the cages (which you are required to find to beat the game) won't appear until you touch a random pixel on the screen. This means you have to hop around and explore literally every square inch of the level until something appears. Why they expected people to know what to do is beyond me.
I think Rayman, sonic, Mario, and Zelda were my first video games when I was 4, and I remember Rayman actually felt kinda easy in comparison and I really liked the art a lot. It's just cool cuz it's some of my earliest memories of being a human so that's cool
The love/hate of Rayman is a sentiment I completely share. Beautiful, fun, and charming while at the same time backbreakingly, ridiculously unfair and frustrating.
I have loved Rayman from my childhood and I still love him today. Also, Ubisoft should make a new Rayman animated series on Neflix and I want it to be made by the same people who made "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir". Since Zagtoon and Ubisoft are both french companies, this concept may inspire Ubisoft to make a console adaptation of Miraculous Ladybug. Also, since Miraculous has a lot of anime references in the show, I want to see a lot of Looney Toons references in this new Rayman animated series concept, because Michael Ancel designed the characters in the Rayman games from Tex Avery cartoons. (and maybe Fleischer Studios cartoons too).
Rayman was the first game I ever played and I loved it back than. I remember I never could 100% it until I was like 16, but this game was just awesome!

I always replayed the muskeeto stage multiple times in order to gain more lives, thus raising the chances of beating the last stages without using a continue. That worked fine and it made the game beatable without too much frustration, though it was time consuming.

I think Rayman, sonic, Mario, and Zelda were my first video games when I was 4, and I remember Rayman actually felt kinda easy in comparison and I really liked the art a lot. It's just cool cuz it's some of my earliest memories of being a human so that's cool

I have loved Rayman from my childhood and I still love him today. Also, Ubisoft should make a new Rayman animated series on Neflix and I want it to be made by the same people who made "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir". Since Zagtoon and Ubisoft are both french companies, this concept may inspire Ubisoft to make a console adaptation of Miraculous Ladybug. Also, since Miraculous has a lot of anime references in the show, I want to see a lot of Looney Toons references in this new Rayman animated series concept, because Michael Ancel designed the characters in the Rayman games from Tex Avery cartoons. (and maybe Fleischer Studios cartoons too).

Rayman was the first game I ever played and I loved it back than. I remember I never could 100% it until I was like 16, but this game was just awesome!

Why. Why did I ever think I could complete this game? Literally every single thing you said in this video is spot on with my experience with the game all those years ago. Once I got to the musical stages, I thought I must be close to finishing the game but just seeing all of the BS you had to put up with has made me glad I gave up with Rayman when I did. Jesus I would have lost my sanity.

I always replayed the muskeeto stage multiple times in order to gain more lives, thus raising the chances of beating the last stages without using a continue. That worked fine and it made the game beatable without too much frustration, though it was time consuming.
I have so many good memories of that game; so cute, funny, hard, and French like me! 8D
