Have you watched all episodes, they've talked about all golden oldies in both in positive and negative ways. As a social experiment I am finding it really interesting especially as they have reached halfway point and repeated some of the initial tests. But I do have to agree I find it sad when "Debbie downer's" do state the negative as it makes me remember that these are sadly people who may not be with us in a few years. I just hope that a lot of people watching this will be more considerate and spend a few minutes of there day talking to an elderly person so they don't feel so alone.
Why did I start balling when Levinia finally stood up from her wheelchair ON HER OWN & started trucking across the wet grass to join her little friend!!!???? Simply LOVELY!
Lavinia, despite her age & her Parkinsons & her lack of mobility, getting up out of her mobility scooter & into her walker to get across that lawn... oh that made my heart thump so much! It is just as fantastic as seeing someone run the 100m's in a world record time at an Olympic final!x
81 years old ''And I always remembered never put your own name up on the wall'' Good lord I giggled as I pictured her at 65 looking at a pen and a wall, thinking to herself ''Restrain yourself.. Do not write your name..''
This is exactly what older people need. My gran had 6 kids, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and said thats what kept her young throughout her life. No longer with us but we all talk about her like she's still here today.
My dad now has 2 great grandchildren at nearly 77. He's often thought that he's sick of life and all his friends dying around him but new additions to the family give him a will to live. I'm 40 now and his youngest child and he's still pushing me for more grandkids but it ain't gonna happen unless I fall in love with a woman who still wants them. I actually ended a potential long term relationship not long ago because she was early 30s and still wanted children and was heart set on it. So we never got serious. Such a shame because we seemed compatible in every other way but we were both set in what we wanted
Many cultures have the older generations helping raise the young, and living in the same home. There are many benefits for both. It should be normalised globally.
Elderly people often adore children. It makes them feel young again. So beneficial for all. It gives parents some respite from the children and children learn to respect elders
Whoever’s mum gran sister aunt this is should be so so god dam proud this lady without a doubt makes me want to live a better life she’s so determined an lush bless her heart ❤️❤️
I miss my Gran too. She died in '95 & I miss her every day. She was such an integral member of our family & lived with us for a long time when her physical health started to go. We tried to look after her when she developed Alzheimer's too but she became distressed. In the end we had to find her a home although it took us almost a year to find a good one for her. It was in the area she grew up so she knew nearly everybody there. She became reacquainted with an old lady who used to babysit my Mum. I wish I could she her once more to tell her how loved she was. I hope she knew. I can't remember if I told her as an adult.
Parkinson’s is a hard thing to go through, my late grandfather struggled with Parkinson’s disease and watching this brought a tear to my eye. Lotta love ❤️
The children get life lessons they can use, and the elderly get mental stimulation, which is something they desperately need to stave off dementia. It's a winning partnership
She reminds me of my Great Nanna, who is almost 90. Such a gem and still sharp as a tack. She’s a mother, nanna, great nanna and a “super nan” which is what our family has always referred to our great-great grandparents as, they’re super grandparents! Haha. I hope all the time that she’s still around when I decide to have my first child. She is incredible. But either way I’ll carry her legacy on, and her great grandchildren will always know how amazing her and my great grandfather were.
This is so sweet to watch. I was one of the kids that connected better with old people. Taught me about death and a lot of other things I don't think I otherwise would at that age
This reminds me of a neighbor I had as a child. I would go nextdoor and help her pick radishes out of her garden and she would give my parents a couple of quarters for my help.
Most old people are so sweet because they have enough life experience to know the world is a horrible unkind place, so they strive to make it better for the people they can
Just the sweetest lady! Bless her heart and her determination to not be left out, gosh I just wanna give her a massive hug! My nan is 93 this year, and she refuses to use her mobility scooter. She will use her zimmer frame or walking stick and thats about it, and we always have to tell her she's naughty because during the first lockdown in the UK, which was March 2020, she had a fall, stayed in hospital and had to do physio for 4 weeks. That same day after getting out of hospital, she had another fall and actually broke her pelvic bone. Because she always wants to pick up the tiniest speck of dirt off the floor, she may need glasses but as soon as it comes to something being on the floor, she's right on it and is searching the floors for any dirt she can pick up. No use telling her to ask someone or to wait until a friend, family member or carers come round to ask them, cause she won't wait. She's so funny though, and she remembers her childhood as if it were yesterday, talking about living in London during the war and talking about the Blitz and everything else. I love elderly people, cherish your grandparents/parents etc, whilst you still can.
They are all so adorable. I want to hug them all. What lovely beautiful gentlemen and gentlewomen. This is so mutually beautiful relationship between 2 different age groups. amazing work
When i was 19 my first job was in community care in London, i did the job for 18 years, in that time i met some truely wonderful people, it made me grow up very fast, as a wee lad fron N. Ireland it give me life skills and made me a far better person, many of the people i looked after where in there 70s 80s and 90s, every day was not the same and i loved to listen to all the old storys about what life was like in London back in the day, i still visit a nurseing home and even brought my dog for few years he brought such joy to the older people, so well done to channel 4 for this, i think its so important that children and older people do come togather and these kids will never for get this, with all the problems we face now with social care we need to look again how we look after our older folk.
I find as I'm growing older, I have more of a love for children. Im almost 63. My daughter and grandchildren live 800 miles away. I fill Im missing so much. That they are missing so much, by not having any grandparents around them. I think this video is wonderful?
How special is their friendship?!

I'm over here cheering at my phone as I saw her crossing that gross! "Yassss Sis! Cross that lumpy ole wet grass!"
What a strong woman!! She’s a fighter!! She won’t let anything take her down - not her age, not her physical condition.

I swear this one of the best ideas.
It's extreamly beautiful to see.
The very old and the very young are naturally drawn to each other. It's primal, something in our instincts brings them together.
i'm.. about to start crying. channel 4 better stop with these precious shows😭😭😭💕
I had such a bond with my late nan, she was wonderful, this video reminded me of her. May her beautiful soul rest in peace - I utterly miss her!

What a wonderful idea, it’s like 1+1 = 3, they get to benefit from each other being there and that’s just magical
