The thing that really annoys me is that if IGN or someone’s favourite reviewer says a game is bad then a lot of people won’t even give it a chance until they see them on a list like this and then it’s too late the series has either been canned or the games are too expensive to own. It’s a shame more people don’t just tries games and make up their own minds
Too true! One of my favorite games of all time is No More Heroes! 7.8 on IGN and 6 on gamespot but it definitely shares a spot next to Xenoblade as my favorite Wii games (both of which have been rereleased on switch, thankfully).
True, like I recall IGN gave God Hand a 3/10 even though it was more of a 8/10 which destroyed it's chances of success and took Capcom's Clover Studios with it, the devs then took their own path and made Platinum Games and kept that spirit of creating new and fun games that Clover Studios was made to do, very cool.
How do people try games though? People base their choices on spending $40-60 on a game based on what they've heard. Unless you're rich, just blindly trying out a game isn't really an option.

I haven’t played Resonance of Fate either the original release or re-release. But I have played a chunk of Project X Zone 2 which had the main three characters from that game in it. So it was cool seeing them team up with other SEGA characters as well as characters from Capcom, Bandai Namco, even Nintendo in there.

PS3/XBOX 360 era was the peak in terms of graphics, good gameplay and amazing storytelling all at the same time. After PS4/XBOX ONE were released, developers started focusing on online mutliplayer mode way too much because that's what made them the most amount of money. And those who were making single-player games were focusing way too much on the visuals and open world aspect, and completely forgot that what makes games great isn't the visuals or open world, but addictive gameplay and storytelling. Luckily we still have a few developers who still make amazing single-player games, but way less than 10-15 years ago. Simply put, back then if you wanted your game to stand out, you had to develop an all-round amazing game if you wanted it to sell well. Nowadays, you can create an online-only game with in-game purchases and get rich asf. So why bother spending so much resources on creating a single-player game, when you have a bunch of kids addicted to Fortnite?
Who else is a fan of Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning ? The PS3 is hands down, the best console ever made. It's library is just amazing! And in 2021, it stills holds itself up against current gen consoles and pc games. So many great games: Ni no Kuni, Heavenly Sword, Demon Souls and DS1+2 (still holding strong the online coop community), Nier, Binary Domain, Bayonetta, Final Fantasy XIII, Metro, the Metal Gear franchise, the list goes and goes. Most of the games you mentioned I never played, I have to put them on my list. Thanks!

I've had 3D Dot Heroes since it came out but am only now finally starting it. I love the art style and it's a big reason why I just got Earth Defense Force World Brothers for PS4. @@dstorm3907 lol true, more of the later side tho, didn't they say something like 2023 is when they will have full stock? Im sure as hell not paying scalper prices for PS5 lol have a great one D 👍
@@mikereyes2488 Why couldn't they just make the ps4 play ps3 games! At least I can take all of my ps4 games to ps5! After I get a ps5 all I will need is my ps3 to play every game sony has ever put out.
Binary Domain and Vanquish come to mind. Blur also.
Great suggestions, will add them for part 2!
I just bought binary domain the last winter for 4,5 € ^^
Big Big underrated game was nnot even put on this list tells you how underrated Resistance 2 is. One of the best games i played when i was growing up, everything was good the story the coop and multiplayer pvp everything was good. Absolute a hidden gem
Many saying the biggest jump was from PS1 to 2 while those guys just played PS3 without HDR. Those who enabled it and didn't like it, they just didn't configurated it properly.
Awesome list, Im gonna have to drop by the local retro store and see if some of these are there.
I personally would recommend Alpha Protocol, Binary Domain, and Bionic Commando for underrated games as well
Awesome to see Saboteur being mentioned!
Enslaved is good but I can't recommend the console version. The input lag totally ruins the game. It's very noticeable.
There's so many hidden gems i didn't know. Nice video👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Remember the original trailer for dark sector at the launch of ps3? People freaked out about the visuals. Then it sat in development for way too long and looked totally different when it finally dropped.
Dark Sector is such a good game! The atmosphere really pulled me in.
Shadows of the Damned, Dantes Inferno, The Saboteur, Dead Space.
All games made when EA actually cared about being unique.
Lair would've done alot better had it not have those terrible motion controls.
I’ll second that, those controls were a nightmare!
Yeah at least they were able to do a quick fix by updating the controls, via Free DLC that did help the game itself, it's still stuck with some of those Awkward Motion Controls though, I played a bit of it and I hit a annoying Road Block that I just Quit all together, honestly if it had another chance with say Hypothetically an Enhanced Port that Makes the Controls even better and such then yeah I could see it having a better chance than it did back in the day...
@@bobafett4265 Agreed. And I did quit after about an hour of that terrible motion controls nonsense, but replayed it again after the DLC update. It's a good game, just that it killed itself with forced motion controls. First impressions matter the most...
You remember those early 360/PS3 days, when Dark Sector was been show here and there... Remind also of that Alone in the Dark failed reboot
How is BLUR not in this list? It sold way less than Split/second and it’s an absolutely EPIC game! I’d go as far as to say it’s one of the top 3 best arcade racers ever made. 🤷🏻♂️
Tomb Raider Legend OST? A man of good taste.
I don't care what people say, I love Dante's Inferno lol. Tokyo Jungle and Enslaved are great as well. An unknown PS3 game I played recently and quite enjoyed was Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day. If you are into anime and platformers, and it's a nice little experience.
Singularity was my very first PS3 game. It's not really long but at that time it took me some hours and I really enjoyed it.
It’s a solid game!
3D Dot Game Heroes, and Tokyo Jungle 😌👍🏻❤
Enslaved was one of the best games I played on 360. Wish they would've kept on with the series.. Didn't the developers rub out of money 9r something
Ninja Theory developed it, they did Heavenly Sword before it and the reboot of Devil May Cry afterwards ... I love their catalog ...
Whatever Platform play Singularity it's an absolute great Game with some Issues still recommend it highly
I’ll second that!
How about Cabela's Dangerous Hunt 2013? That is a surprisingly competent game. It is over the top, but still earnest.
Enslaved is a really good game that's people dont' care about :/
I’ll second that, absolutely loved playing through it!
Memorable game, in my opinion is the best in this list!
Played it day 1. It was incredible but very short.
I hear that Tomb Raider Legend music again. It is during the Dark Sector gameplay.
If I’m honest the dark sector OST sucks and when that occurs when I’m editing a video. I’ll swap out the music for something awesome to go over it.
@@thatvideogamesshow I could understand the need for that. Your videos are always well done and I enjoy watching them. You're starting to make me think Tomb Raider Legend's soundtrack could sell any game when played over some gameplay.
@@thatvideogamesshow
Nasty rasterized entrance level HD rez.
Thank you for including Split Second! , I loved that game, it was like Mario Kart on steroids 😁
Folklore is an underrated game that actually used the Sixaxis in a interesting way
binary domain and fuse for 3rd person shooter crazyness! also the club and syndicate
Great video! Thanks for recommending Lair and mentioning the update to the controls. I'll have to pick it up next chance I get since it's always cheap
Glad you enjoyed it Ruben!
Omg when I first found Tokyo jungle I became OBSESSED with it lol
Such a solid game!
Other games that should get more attention:
- Binary Domain
- Lollipop Chainsaw
- Shadows Of The Damned
- Wet
- Condemned 2
And YES, Singularity is an awesome game.
Great suggestion, I’ll be sure to add them to a part 2!
Wet and lollipop chainsaw are not good games. Guilty pleasures maybe but not legit decent.
@@StabStabStabStabby That's your opinion. For me, they're good games.
Awesome video my friend. Greeting from Buenos Aires 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
I've played several games from this list on the 360... so they weren't forgotten to me :/
Great list man 👍
Cheers Gaz
12:23 IVE BEEN SEARCHING THIS GAME FOR YEARS I CANT BELIEVE IT thank u so much omg
Glad the video was helpful 🙂
3:09 someone got the Midnight Show DLC too! ;)
Great List!
Thanks Morgan!
Well there are many games in the list that I have played like sabouteur and split second velocity and they are really underrated
Great video TVGS
Thanks captain!
Split second was amazing and my heart sank when they cancelled the sequel.
Top 5 racing game in my opinion.
I’ll second that. The game was such a good time!
@@thatvideogamesshow word!
Also, brilliant vid as usual man.
Dante inferno is great I thoroughly enjoyed playing through on my series x!
Dark Sector is underated an underqppreciated title since its release, Enslaved is another for sure
