"there is always the shadow next to the light" (38:00) . . . "to be dependable you have to be independent, if you're not independent you can't be dependable... because you're needy" (40:30) . . . "if you seek perfection you will not find perfection in any god; the day you seek perfection, you are asking for misery, because you are looking for something perfect" (55:00).
It's always a great pleasure to listen to Devdutt, he has such a refreshing approach to our Epics & Scriptures all of which make our inheritance & legacy.
Real question is : why didn't shriram give up the throne to be with Sita Mata ? Why was the kingdom so important to him ? He could had passed on the responsibility of becoming a king to Any of his three glorious brothers . Can anyone answer ?
Ram felt that Serving the people was more important than giving up the throne for Sita. But he knew that what he is doing is Adharma, but if he ignored the people he is also doing Adharma. This problem is called Dharmasankat. Thus he has to sacrifice one entity. He is forced to choose a side. Sita knew this dharmasankat of Ram, that's why Sita chose to leave Ayodhya.
Best way destroy Hindu religious culture is to take out divinity within the scriptures. Then it becomes easier for missionaries and islamists to fulfill their ambitions.
He's a such irritating personality. After reading his books I'm convinced that he had never read any of our scriptures, neither Bhagavad Gita or purana. So many mistakes and distortions. Omg

Sita doesn't need ram, she is independent but Ayodhya needs Ram

Such a distorted view as always. People with shallow knowledge and distorted intentions are called erudite. What a shame
