I used to like listening to his talks. In fact, this is the second time I'm listening to it...and it has dawned upon me...he just obfuscates a simple story by bringing In some back story. Yes Kansa had a terrible childhood, yet him being a "baby killer" is not justifiable and hence he is a "vilian". And why is this so called uniqueness of India model he speaks of...doesn't Joker have a sad origin story? Almost every superhero villian has a dark origin story. Devdutt has read the the text and knows some stories that others don't, but that doesn't mean his interpretations carry special weight . Pretentious at best.

It is hard to fathom some rather irate opinions about Devdutt’s interpretations of Hindu scriptures. What is the issue, people? I have seen books on the holy Bhagwat Gita by Mahatma Gandhi, Vinobha Bhave, KM Munshi, Radhakrishnan, Rajgopalachari, Chinmaynanda, Prabhupada, Dayananda, and a dozen others. So why begrudge Devdutt HIS commentaries and interpretations?

He is very creative and articulate but he himself commits many of the mistakes he complains about others for example many of the story writers do not stick to the facts as in Mahabharata or Ramayana but use their own prejudiced opinions. But he claims Kunti was raped from which Karan was born. In no version of Mahabharata was shown to be Kunti raped. Karan could have been a result of youthful love but wants to use rape as the certainity. He states it as a fact not what could have been. I can name many other such instances where he states his figments of imagination as facts. Again, no doubt he is talented, creative and succesful but he is too self obsessive and wants to others to see things his way.

Don't you feel that you have been writing the same comment over quite a number of videos? I agree everyone has the freedom of speech and expression-so does Devdutt ji has, so does Rajiv ji has, so do you have and so do I have...but if you hate him so much from the bottom of your heart, then why are you just going on watching all of his videos and commenting the same thing over each of them...even if it's out of context...I think you have a lot of free time...anyways you are not judging him on whatever he is speaking...you are judging him on Rajiv Malhotra's commentary on his book "My Gita" which he is not even talking about in these videos...So please clarify your actions...obviously if you feel free to...noone can oblige you...it's a free nation after all...

I respect him,. Rajiv sir's work is good but he got stuck with to only one approach ...whereas devdutts approach is good for today's generation who wants to narrate things in todays context....
Rajiv g heard/learned scriptures in older time with limited/no technology...whereas devdutt learned/heard scriptures as well as internet(which is the most powerful library if used properly).
We got to be careful....we as a person see what we wanna se...can't digest the fact that there are other realities, other approach and another way of telling same story.
