Those trails bring back great memories for me, I was first introduced to that area as a 8 or 9 year old kid back in the early 80's when they were logging it. I have rode it and deer hunted it regularly from 1991 to 2010 , it's amazing how it has grown up, I use to drive from Vandalia ohio to ride or hunt almost every weekend, I now live and work for the National Park Service in Yellowstone national park, amazing how I use to think those trails were so tough, some of the trails that I ride my sportsman 850 out here rise 4000 feet and we ride in snow year round in places. It's always awesome to see the places where you cut your teeth. Thanks for the flashback memory.
That’s an amazing story. Thanks for sharing and thank you for taking the time to watch a video of mine. We want to get out that way and ride the Rockies or just out west in general. The scenery looks breathtaking. Thank you !
I’m SUPER appreciative that you made such a detailed video of the trails there...I’m always looking for new places to ride and you just saved me a few hours drive for gravel roads!
Yeah they have been doing alot of trail maintenance. Not for everyone but it's still fun to get out and ride without trashing the machine. Thanks for watching
Real nice trails & they keep them up well are they one way traffic ? If not could see be bit sketchy run into someone doing same speed coming other way .
The trails are two way unfortunately. So you have to be paying attention. Hasn’t really been an issue yet for us. We aren’t usually flying through these trails.
Now that you have some handlebar time under your elka shocks would you say they are worth the price tag? I have the exact same model sportsman as you and I do a lot of riding on WV trails so I am looking to upgrade the factory shocks. Also I two sets of tires and rims that I swap out depending on where I’m riding at.....are you still running factory tires or have you upgraded? I see the maxxis carnivores are on sale and I think that I’m going to try out the 28x10-14 on all four wheels as a all in one tire so I’m not swapping out wheels all of the time.
The elka shocks are hands down the best money I've spent on the quad so far. Night and day right quality difference .You can ride all day and not be sore from being bounced all around on the rocks. You can probably save some money and go with a set of Stage 3s though. I do have 2 sets of wheels/tires. One is the stock Wheels on aftermarket tires with a 4x3 offset all for corners (makes it's stance wider). The stock wheels have new ITP XTR radial tires keeping the OEM tire size. Those tires are amazing the pull through the mud like no ones business and they seem to be wearing really nice as well. I switch to those if I know im going to hit some mud or more during the wet season. Like right now I am running the stock Enduro power grip 2s just because I dont want to wear down the XTR's on all the hard pack dirt and rock trails. Thanks for watching! I'll be sure to cover the topic of wheels and shocks during my 1 year review I'm working on now.

Xp1000 isn't legal at Wayne is it??
It is legal it is only 48.5 or 49.5 inches wide if you keep it factory.
Xp 1000 on a 50" restriction? How did you fit it!?
Sportsman XP1000 sorry - they measure 48.5 according to the manufacturer specifications.
