nevermore are ridiculously underrated..... hopefully this year ill be making the trip to wacken... from what i can see no other festival comes close... all of the other festivals are selling out... just look at download (pendulum, prodigy, other complete bullshit) sonisphere (from what i've seen it all crap except for maiden and slayer).... just hope i can get the cash for wacken... \m/

There is no other guitarist who plays the guitar like Loomis. His solo techniques AND his right hand attack is amazing and unreachable!!! Maybe the "Nevermore" fans like the music now too.... but I listenED Nevermore because Loomis played there. Of course this is only my opinion...

@boxmouth1 I'm old enough that I got to listen to Sanctuary when they were still active... I wasn't a huge fan of Warrel back then because his vocals sounded like he was "on helium", self-description... I love Warrel Dane's vocals in Nevermore because the guy expresses a massive range of emotions through them. and I love the most the demented side of them. listen to that Dreaming Neon Black album with the lyrics in front of you, and maybe you will get it. if not, there's no chance for you...

@Blargaha Except that if it were an intentional dramatic pause, Jeff Loomis wouldn't have just left that feedback ringing through the speaker, and Van Williams wouldn't have looked so confused about where he was supposed to go next with the drum part.
@Blargaha The thing is that there's no "dramatic pause" like that in the studio version; Loomis is supposed to start riffing there. Plus, if you look at the comment I was originally responding to, the person who posted it was saying that it would've been "a complete fuck up" if Warrel hadn't come in and gotten them back on track. I don't think I noticed when I listened to this recording the first time around, but after I saw that comment, I hear what he means.

@Thetarantinomaniac As I see it, Van looked at the others to see if they were ready, eye contact is very important when you are playing.
As for the feedback, try using high output guitar pickups with heavily overdriven amps, and not get feedback. I also leave feedback from my amp when I make dramatic pauses

I was there, and it's true, the sound was really that crappy ... however, a solid performance of the guys nonetheless!

@Thetarantinomaniac Keeps me on my toes at least, also notice that the feedback started just before Loomis started riffing again. That would imply that he was moving his hand to be ready for the next riff, and therefore it was planned:)
