Our Yorkie is the smartest, most protective, loving and less anxious dog we have ever had! Only barks if someone at door and stops when we tell him "ok". Storms do not bother him at all and when we leave, he goes to bed and is so happy when we get home, he doesn't jump on anyone, he does 'dance' for us when we get home. He sits by us when we have company and if we introduce him him to the person, he will only go to them if they reach out and call him over. If they pay attention to him, he will go thru all his 'tricks' for them. Sits, then lays, rolls over both ways. He has more but he keeps it simple for guests. Lol.

Although her health is robust now, she has had both knees surgically corrected, expensive dental surgery, is 12 and barely house trained. She stands on the pee pad and pees on the floor. She is sweet but I would never recommend one to anyone not prepared for expensive vet bills.

I had one. Her name was tippy and she was really sweet. She got a long with my kids. The only person she didn’t like is my ex-husband. She hated him. If he got close to me she would try to get him. I have 4 and I want 4 more! Best breed in the world. The key is you have to be the bigger bully or they will bully you . Don’t get just one, you’ll have issues, they hate to be alone. Kennel train the first night you bring them home, let them earn their way in your bed. This breed goes to the groomer a lot so it’s important they’re crate/kennel trained. This breed takes time and a lot of maintenance to maintain a beautiful coat, if you don’t have time and money, don’t get one.
As said in the video my yorkie doesn’t like to go out if it’s cold or wet out, she wil go out the back door but not off the porch. I usually have yo walk out a little bit to get her to come off the porch otherwise she’ll sit on the porch instead of actually going potty

My yorkie loves the rain and his bestie in our house is our Great Dane. He doesn’t bark that much, only to communicate with me and he is a part of our pack not the leader. We also have a pit and a chihuahua so that may account for something 😂

Yorkie is the worst breed. They crap all over. Not potty trained, needy. Follow you everywhere. Annoying barking. Separation anxiety. Aggressive, weak dog breed. Joint problems. They are fragile. One false step it's over. I hate dressing them up and they are not your babies. Not potty trained. Crapped all over at the store. Embarrassing. Many health issues. Picky eater. I have a yorkie, and I shown yorkies, and I'm a Dog Groomer, my yorkie has a sister a goldendoodle and she has been with use for 2 years she is 45 lbs, yes yorkies are not good with families with small children each yorkie is different but they are great dogs, and fun,full of energy not like a goldendoodle there totally full of energy, my yorkie and goldendoodle get along so well together, I tell people if there wanting any type of a dog do your homework so your aware of whst you maybe in for.
they’re really nice, but mine is sadly too loud and sometimes barks at everyone, but sometimes shes super nice and wants to cuddle with me. her mood changes quickly but my whole family loves her a lot, like she can literally bark and bite me and wont let me hold her and then the other day she’s extremely cuddly and wants to be with me. idk if thats the problem with me and my family or her, but yeahh. also, she’s REALLY hungry every single minute. like literally, she tries to steal my food everytime i let her in my room (sometimes she sneaks in to do so, but i always notice her) she’s 4 years old if anyones interested, so yeah

Wrong wrong wrong I have been raised around them since I was a child and I am 52 yrs old and my grandchildren are raised around them and they do well with other animals I had a 12yr old Yorkie that lived with a large dog and a cat and rabbit this website is so misleading and needs to be taken off. Any dog can become protective and any breed you have to socialize and caring for coat is like any dog you age to care for it and the same thing with teeth you have to care for. And as a matter of fact these dogs were used back in the days for hunting and chasing rabbits out of homes etc. so this website is so wrong about this breed.
My wife and her mom had a yorkie family with 6 yorkies. My wife kept 3 yorkies and her mom kept 3. 2 of the yorkies my wife kept were funny, playful, and cute. the last one was cute and calm. I don't agree with any of that😠😠😠

I had one. Her name was tippy and she was really sweet. She got a long with my kids. The only person she didn’t like is my ex-husband. She hated him. If he got close to me she would try to get him. He would have to run and get on a kitchen chair. He worked nights and we lived down a long dirt road. As soon as she heard him pull on that road she would start growling in the closer he got the louder she got. He made me give her away. ☹️ He got tired of getting bit. Funny thing is, lol he got her for me. I miss her.

I have 4 and I want 4 more! Best breed in the world. The key is you have to be the bigger bully or they will bully you . Don’t get just one, you’ll have issues, they hate to be alone. Kennel train the first night you bring them home, let them earn their way in your bed. This breed goes to the groomer a lot so it’s important they’re crate/kennel trained. This breed takes time and a lot of maintenance to maintain a beautiful coat, if you don’t have time and money, don’t get one.
As said in the video my yorkie doesn’t like to go out if it’s cold or wet out, she wil go out the back door but not off the porch. I usually have yo walk out a little bit to get her to come off the porch otherwise she’ll sit on the porch instead of actually going potty

My Yorkie is my best friend I had questions about getting one but now that I have him he's with me all the time he gets upset when I don't take him with me but he has got a little kennel that I put them into when I go to the store I have too many Jews and aahs when I'm going to the grocery store with him and I never get to get all my groceries he is a comical little boy he loves to fish he loves squeaky toys😊

Makes sense. I have seen Yorkies always barking at anything. One friends yorkie barked at the wrong dog and got stitches and attacked something in the backyard and got more stitches. Definitely not a good gaurd dog it will just get more stitches or worse.

What a load of rubbish. My Yorkies have always made exceptional pets. Two at once was a dream! Elder one taught younger one. Coats very easy to maintain! Great guard fog. Saved my neighbours car from getting broken into. Never to be left with children alone? Agree but this should apply to all dogs. Hates bigger dogs- rubbish again. My Yorkies best buds were both Rotties and Great Dane’s. My Yorkies were potty trained by 4 months. The Yorkie I have just now never gave me a soiled pee pad. Molly is now a Therapy Dog and works with both children and adults! Please get your facts straight!!!!

One is a Yorkshire terrier who loves her big brother our black lab /pit mix, her sisters our Shi tzu and our Yorkie/pom. We have small children here all the time and she loves them! And they are not as delicate as you think they are because our little girl is like a little tomboy who loves to play rough! There were other things she said that were all false like they're hard to train. My Yorkie is not even two and she knows how to speak when asked, she gives high five, We say spa time and she flips over onto her back so we can rub her belly, she knows when we spell out or treat, she knows to go in the hallway when we're going to leave the house and so much more.
