To me, she is like a black hole. I can't get away from her. The more she gets to know, the more surprises she gets every time.
Although this is a beautiful performance, the really iconic performance of this song is the performance of the song on ‘immortal songs 2x’. You should watch it, even if it’s just for yourself
She was a little disturbed because the violinist appeared late, but she is still amazing.
BTW this is labelled "Immortal Songs 2" but this is her more recent 2021 special appearance on "Voice King" where she was a "King Maker" (judge). The 1985 appearance had superior production values and supporting musicians/vocalists and was not interrupted by audience applause. In both cases the singing is excellent but she has made changes over the years. She performed it other times in between but videos are fancams or have poor audio quality. Sorry to nitpick.

She is one of the greatest vocalist in the world.But She wasn't known as well as popular because She sing for GOD and Comfort people who has hardtime Not for fame or money. ..In her youth, she turned down all offers from mega agencies for her beliefs...and now she is 44years old. .She has so many legendary live performances .
She always sings with sincerity whenever and wherever. So it comforts those who listen to her song...That's why I love her...And her singing skills are the best, not to mention...

This performance was on King Singer (I think 2021) rather than Immortal Songs (2015). Both have their high points. This version the sound is more raw and natural, but I also feel she is having to sing louder possible due to the sound system or building size. She takes an extra breath on that spectacular high long phrase.
On the immortal Songs version she does not sing as loudly maybe due to a better sound system (KBS does do some editing on Immortal Songs too) but on the IS version I felt much more connection between Sohyang and the violin player than here. To me the solo violin here seems like an after thought rather than sharing the spotlight. In the IS version it is like a duet between her and violinist as not only could you feel the connection but it was an electric violin spectacularly played.
I would suggest her performance of Bridge Over Trouble Water on Immortal Songs next.
Sohyang is an elite level vocalist. As others have already mentioned this performance was NOT from Immortal Songs 2, nevertheless still stunning. Next xhexk out her performances of Bridge Over Troubled Water (2015 with over 8m views) please make sure its the version from Immortal Songs 2. Thanks you for a great reaction and analysis. This song is about the war that broke up the north from the south, and is a song in hopes that one that the north and S. Korea will become one again. A reunification song.

(Immortal Songs 2, I think) is out of this world and so different than this beautiful Korean song... truly a stupendous live performance.
Few artists makes me cry almost every time... So Hyang, ranked as one of the worlds best lyrical sopranos does it every time. With that said I am usually more of an Alto fan... I often say: If I want to be inpressed I listen to extreamly good Sopranos. But if I want to me moved I want to listen to beatiful Alto voices... But So Hyang is an objection to that rule....
Nice to meet you Arirang is a traditional Korean folk song. Although sung by a wide variety of singers, Sohyang sang Arirang, which I really like because it seems to touch the soul. It was nice to be able to spend some time with a beautiful coach.
"Arirang" is a traditional Korean folk song, with hundreds of regional variations.
"Arirang Alone" is a version adapted with lyrics on the reunification of South Korea and North Korea.
Sohyang's version of "Arirang Alone" has a different arrangement, due to the requirements of the competition show, Immortal Songs 2.

BTW, Whitney's former manager saw the DMC Festival video of Sohyang singing "I Have Nothing", and contacted Oprah Winfrey, who in turn, contacted David Foster. They were all amazed. He invited her to sing on his tour in Asia. She did 8 shows in 4 days in Tokyo. Foster co-wrote that song. He arranged and produced it for Whitney for her album, and her performance in "The Bodyguard".
