i've said this, it's repetitive and dull, 13 years of the exact same thing
and yet someone on Reddit tried to argue "You don't HAVE to play the game"
but this, it hits everything, a truthful arguement

I've been thinking of a concept called Cognation. It's an au where the cogs are actually nice and happy and goofy while the toons are the evil corporates. Like the toons created the cogs to help them with their corporate businesses but they betrayed then to create a happy nice town instead of a corporate wasteland. If it was in the game, it would be a one time thing (like Doomsday) and toons would go through a portal made by Dr Surely to go to Cognation and befriend the "good cogs" and fight off the toons and the bosses (in this case being Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy) And at the end, you get a very big award and you jump back through the portal to toontown and get congratulated. Idk just a thing I made up that probably won't happen
that idea actually sounds exactly like an idea I had for a content pack
it was going to make the Toons all dark and with frowns instead of smiles, and even angry eyebrows to really capture that Cog aesthetic
and it was going to give the Cogs these bright Toony clothes and bright expressions, I even planned on one of the 4 bosses having a Flippy shirt
but I was too lazy to finish it
+The Toontastic Toon oh cool, it would be cool if it was made into a private server

Here is an idea for Toontown!!!!!
ToonTV.
You access it from your in-game televisions you may buy. It is basically RUclips!
So... Toontown RUclipsrs can submit their videos via email to Toontown Rewritten support. If the video is appropriate, and entertaining, they add it to ToonTV.
Toons can view this at their estate.
It would be pretty cool content, since then furniture may have a point.
Another nice thing, would to make it possible to sit in chairs, sleep in beds, etc. Maybe if you sleep in your bed for a certain amount of time, your Laff will restore.
Actually, Cleff needs a cream pie, not Tom. You're a tewtow tuber! You're suppose to have a big tewtow brain!!!

The real demon in TTR is gardening
You know what the real problem is with fishing, gardening, racing, and golfing?
Disney made them necessary to max your toon. What should've been just fun side activities to do instead of grinding *become* grinds themselves. Any activity will become considerably less fun when it becomes an obligation.
Also as an aside, you seem to not be a big fan of fishing. Out of curiousity, have you ever played the original fishing minigame from the beta?
I've never tried it, no
It was awful. You had to do a "press the keys at a certain speed" minigame for like, 30 seconds straight. 6 or 7 year old me could hardly handle it. I played it a total of one time because after all that work, my reward was a boot.
Personally I enjoy finding and sharing glitches. That's one thing I like. The other is helping out those noobs. Helping them understand how to play, teaching them some strategy if you will, is what does it for me. Great video by the way.
Golfing is so unpredictable sometimes with those glitches i love it 1:30

You could play wizard101, there's a whole lot to do there.
Thing is, when you eventually max out all characters, the grinding of this game pet training.
Most people react to pet training to how you reacted to fishing.
People just need to step it up and make new content for Toontown to keep it new and fresh.
ToonTown is a game pretty much fueled by nostalgia at this point, and a game that was originally meant for young kids in a simpler time. MMO's were grinding games you played with friends from WoW and Runescape to this, but ToonTown has the most unique combat compared to any other MMO with it's turn based cooperative gameplay, so it's fresh and exciting in the beginning. But once you know the numbers, notice the tasks are repetitive until an HQ is "opened" up to the toon and die on the inside listening to the 30 second songs on loop all day it gets draining fast.
And there's only so much you can do in the game too, from a creative side of things. You can't PvP this game because lure is broken when it lands, you can't have epic stories other than maybe the idea of defeating the Cog Scrooge woke up, the game is stuck in it's own universe in the Disney company and can't explore worlds like Kingdom Hearts, and the engine itself is just so old an janky that minigames are hard to program that play well outside trolley games (golf and racing I would consider minigames).
Maybe if there was more interaction with the world, like cannon unlocks on streets or parks for those who cleared the area, or unlocking doodles for something equivalent to a dogpark but for doodles, or perhaps even a bi-plane racer
But in my eyes, the major flaw with this game is just it as a whole, I hate to say. With such a family friendly concept on an old game engine that's not simple to program successfully for such a small group of devs on their individual servers, I feel like a complete overhaul would be the only solution to get some real interest again. Something like the ToonTown 2 leak, with different areas that allowed more action oriented combat as well as turn based strategy, with a much more interactive world. Maybe even a campaign.
At the end of the day, it's a game made for children to ease them into gaming with a not so hard concept, and we're (sort of) adults just wanting to relive our childhood in a dead game, officially, with awesome people trying to keep this gem alive.
(sorry for the long post, it's 2 in the morning and I can't sleep xD)

I think you did a very good job on this video. The visuals were very nice and fitting, and you made your topics flow together very nicely. All that with some delightful bits of humor mixed in. I especially liked the part about Tom and the cream pies. You also got your point across very well.
The only thing I could really critique you on would be that you stated the main point quite a bit, albeit in different ways of saying it. But that might be just me.
All in all, this is a high quality and well made video, and the viewer is sufficiently entertained and informed.

What if once you max your cog suits, you’re allowed to reset to of 1, but you keep the Laff and can gain another 5 laff each time you max it? Almost like prestiging in COD
"Ffffi- fffi- fff-PTSD!" ...Anyways, it's hard for anything not to get boring after you've played it over and over again. I think it's such a big deal with Toontown because... Well, sure, it's an MMO, so we expect lots of content from it, but it's also part of our childhood - we want it to still be fun and entertaining because that's how we remember it. It feels like there should be more to it than there is. Since game design isn't easy, it takes a while for updates to be ready for the open server; usually, by the time the next thing comes out, we've been finished with and bored of the last one for a good while. It's a vicious cycle, amirite?
So people shouldn't be forced to dance all the same dances and play the same old minigames for months on end just because that's what the fans want. If you would rather do something else and you like that thing, I say GO FOR IT!

Dude ive been so burnt out on the game since like Oct. and havent played seriously since. Every single time what happens is I notice i need merits, go to start a factory, get bored instantly (Not even joking, played a bit today and while sounding i just said 'Screw it, this game bores me anyway' and next turn x-ed out.) The game needs an update desperately. And the Private servers came to late and im to burnt out to start a new toon to GET that new content.

On a serious note, I'm not terribly enthusiastic about the future of this ancient game. I kinda like it where it is right now as a "it's cool that people still care" sort of game, and I don't think much more of it.

honestly i agree, i made a soundless toon a little while ago for the challenge and it wasnt even hard. the hardest part was getting people to join my boarding group MAYBE. but even then it's not hard. it's just long.

Oh fuck, it's not the trade you need to worry about, it's what's inside the cream pie that is scary.
Toontown was an MMO. A product. It makes sense it was really grindy. It was also a game fully released on 2003.
Now it's 2018 and MMOs are pretty much dying**, not mentioning the game is technically free, we need to kill at least 70% of all RNG-based activities.
The only RNG thing I think shouldn't be changed is minor things like Item Boxes in racing and whether your gags hit or miss.
And good lord, don't talk about Fishing. I'm stuck fishing for a grizzly bear acuda**, and after looking it up, I need to Fish up 494+ buckets (with gold rod) to catch this one single Fish!!!
