Thank you for a great video ! I've never tasted guavas before, then this year I tried Tropical Pink and was disappointed with its taste. Your video gives me a hope to find a good tasting guava 😊
Used to grow Feijoas ( pineapple guava )with green skins, not my favourite, would hand pollinate them with a brush ( brushing across each flower ). Our favourite guava is the Mexican cream but haven't tastest all the ones you showed
@thetreefather86 Hi, Ive grown lemon cherry guava, strawberry guava (which I still have & is fruiting) & a large white one which I didn't like. As well as the Mexican Cream which has started to fruit again here in Australia. We have to use mesh bags to protect the fruit from the dreaded fruit fly
I am in the area and also growing pink tropical guava that has produced for 2 years but the taste is pretty poor. The skin is very bitter and completely inedible, and the inside tastes like underripe banana (which I am not sure is expected or not). Have you ever experienced guavas with bitter skin and do you know what might cause it? Do guavas improve taste as they mature or would be better to just replace it? Also it seems like you are growing your trees on a pretty steep hill, maybe in one of the future videos you can show some tips how you are managing it. I also have a smaller hill but growing trees there is very challenging.
Awesome video😊 In Asia guavas are like apples in Europe, with a lot of health benefits and so flavorful.😋
Yes, I agree. thank you for the feedback
Thank-you, never had one...

The Mexican cream is great but once you taste others , you will be hooked. Thanks for sharing your experience

Where can I buy the hawaiian pink guava or the pink mexican guava?
@@downtowndasher3666 if you are in So Cal try Anderson Nurseries or tropical fruit growers. Most have them
Great video!
Do you still have the Beaumont red guava? Also, I would like to see you rate the sweetness in future videos
I will work on the sweetness ranking. I don't have a Beaumont red guava (only a pink one).
@ on one of your videos, its titled Beaumont Red Guava - Tree Profile and Taste
Test (San Diego, CA)
@@artgarcia2340 I stand corrected. You are right (it is a RED Hawaiian guava)
