I haven't watched this in a long time. I apologize that the sync goes wacky towards the middle, but they were different times when one uploaded videos all those years ago. Thank you all for the kind words. If you notice, we all wore our best Central Texas flannel in honor of the band. Long live Roky, Stacy, Benny, and Danny Galindo.
Was skeptical and quite doubtful at first before clicking and starting to watch. What a nice surprise! That's the Spirit! Made my Day! Performed greatly! Timelessness Honesty and Spiritual Greatness! God Bless All!
Great tribute to a pioneering bunch of guys who were persecuted in their time for exploring inner space in their music and their lives. Long live Roky, Tommy, Stacy (RIP), Dan, Danny, and all who've loved their music! Long live Acid Tomb!
This is some of the best music, from one of the best bands, in Texas. They really blow me away, unlike any other. I really don't know how they hit it just right. If life sux 4 u, as it does occasionally for everyone, including me, this is better than 3 shots of tequila. There is no rush like Acid Tomb doing the Elevators. Oh, and no hangover like Cuervo! Sure wanna hear She Lives, live. Like from the 2005 show? Can y'all help us hard core fans out? waiting for hurricane Ike. c u soon.
TexasTexan2 you are a nut job , paying Homage to 13th Floor Elevators is 100% Cool. Yeah , I would love to time warp back and see them play again . We still play and occasinaly play one of these , much better then the old standards that even they were forced to play , one more Request for House of the Rising Sun and I would have shot someone . At least we got to hang out with the Originals , they influenced all of us back then .Great to see they still are, a new generation how cool !
I saw the Original so many times probably 20 times at Living Eye alone, think they were the House Band or just played there often, so many tried then to copy them back then, now over 40 years ago!Finding this group wow,how can anyone say anything negative about these guys.Payed it with just the speakers on for Lanier Greig saying someone sent me more Live Elevators. Lanier played on many same bills with them,he agreed sounds great, then I showed it was youngsters. Watched all , Excellent Work .
cool to see a band play one of my all time favorite songs and do it well. the elevators were in the ionosphere so why compare? these fellers are pretty good. good work boys!
If it was a polished, perfect rendition it'd be crap. This is rock and roll at its best, and that means it's supposed to be rough .As for the commenters about the drummer,, he's getting hosed on the mix, give him a break. And at any rate, anybody trying an obscure rock and roll song 8 1/2 minutes long with, what, 8 verses, one guitar break and two choruses gets full props. They could be playing a bar-band version of :"Stairway To Heaven" and making money, you know....
Sadhouse, TexasTexan2 is wrong here because I've bought all the CDs etc of the Elevators, but wanted to see it might have like to hear this stuff live and these boys make a pretty damn good effort at it. It must have been incedrible at the time but possibly not enough people saw it, it was that far ahead!"!! Best wishes
Yes! Someone (American no doubt) understands what Roky & co. were about. Thank you for the passion you bring to this evocation. Is the Acid Tomb empty? It's Easter everywhere! XB
I was critical of the drummer when I commented before. He's really not that bad. It's just that the other three are better musicians. Way to go on memorizing all the lyrics. I'm about 75% there.
I couldn't agree more. If it weren't for such people who obviously take the time and trouble to play such wonderful stuff we be poorer for it. And these guy's are bands in their own right. Stop carping you miserable git
Christ, I just looked at what TexasTexan2 thinks is cool , RAP ? Looking to lift some music ? Ha one good thing rap did was to get us old fucks payed royalties . Just listened 3 times and marking this , it is that good .
goatstaog I am huge fan of the Elevators and a ton of other psych/garage bands. I love that era of music and hold dear and sacred to my heart. With that said, if I was to cover any songs from any psych band I would make sure to play it as perfect as possible to the real thing. If i could not do justice to a cover song, I would not play them at all. All that extra flair the this drummer does is not common with 60's drummers of that ere, or even Danny Thomas' style. I just feel that if you really want to show respect for a beautiful song like Easter Everywhere, play it just like the original band or do not play it at all. I guess I am a traditionalist for my 60's bands.
+Rigo Rivera I think the whole point of cover songs is to play them differently. If you try to duplicate it rather than make it your own, what's the point of doing it at all?
Richard Smith Having the jug on every song was just too much jug. Creative and added an interesting element to some of their songs but it was overdone.
Good to see kids covering the essential LSD masterpieces.
They really have done this justice. Well done and thanks, love it.

This song could, and should, go on forever. Nice work!
I had the great fortune to meet Rocky in London last summer .a very nice guy and He still rocks
so do you guys
The Elevators just may be my favorite band of all time, cool to see somebody knows how to play their music correctly! Great Job!!!!
Slip inside this house, and then decide.
More uploads! More! More! it is your moral obligation to humanity!
Great version!
great job
this made my xmas. Brilliant version. Spot on. Singer even looks like Roky!!! Have a great New Year boys. Best wishes from Shropshire U.K.
... one of the best, most touching, rough, garage performances I've ever seen... the lead guitar player is one hell of a fox.
This is so good that it is ridiculous.
Bloody well done!
You captured the spirit and that's what counts most of all - Bravo!

Nice cover. Justice has been done to this epic song.

I would drink to that! Great effort good to see this number getting a bangout! Proust!

Bloody cool! Kicks ass almost as good as the Elevators themselves! If only there was footage of them doing this song...
When Roky sang this song during The Elevators reunion at Austin Levitation even he only sang (and repeated) two verses....
nice job

Really nice! And it shows once again that a Tele can do anything, including sounding like an electric jug!
The best cover I'd say
Madrugata do a really good cover of Slip also. I highly recommend it.

BTW, any clips of Thru The Rhythm??
good work dudes, but where is the jug?
I was talking about TexasTexan2

cool. I think it sounds pretty close to the origional.

Arrrgh! that drummer is killing me!! That is not what what danny thomas plays!! the guy is adding too much!

far away from the elevators....
You can't do 13th Floor Elevator covers without a jug.
