honestly even my friends who are Mexicans they even telling us that is not really safe mostly for a Tourist to travel in Mexico due to robberies and killing

Travelling by themselves in a van in a sparcely populated part of Mexico. What could possibly go wrong?
Some people are unbelievably naive. I would expect about a 15% chance of not getting robbed or killed. I wonder who’s idea it was? Not great odds.
