Leonard Nimoy has the most wonderful laugh. I sure he enjoyed this interview since he was a photographer also. I bet after the interview his picked Mr. Halsman's brain on photography. I would have. Actually, it would have been Leonard's brain I would have picked. I loved him. RIP Leonard.
One of the world’s greatest ever photographers, interviewed by an acting icon with the music of a true legend. I didn’t know Leonard Nimoy was a presenter, this must have been around the time he was in Mission Impossible. Fantastic video.
He is a very good interviewer. He asked good open questions, he showed genuine interest in his guest's replies (unlike his ex co-star, perhaps, who always managed to bring the subject round to himself) and kept the guest in the spotlight the whole time. Oh yes, and he looked beautiful too! Thanks so much for posting this, it's unique.
For some reason, I couldn't take my eyes off that scar on Mr. Nimoy's cheek. It's just so...lovely. :-) I love everything about that Vulcan...I mean *gives embarrassed smile* I love everything about that Man. ;-)
What a great interview . I was 23 years old back in 1973. I had taken a workshop course from the New School in N.Y.C. This photography workshop was with Mr. Halsman at his studio/apartment on the upper west side of N.Y. It brought back such great memories. To hear him tell these stories just made me get goose bumps. What a great experience it was for me.Thank you for posting this great memory. I can also remember his wife Yvonne serving cookies after class! She was his number 1.
Such an interesting interview. I wonder if Leonard Nimoy ever did other ones -- it looks almost as if he and Kaye Ballard were regular co-hosts! Nimoy was obviously "fascinated" with Halsman and his photographs, and has actually emulated him in some ways. I think Nimoy's "Secret Selves" might be taking up where Halsman's "Jump!" photos left off ... If there had been a "Jump!" photo of Nimoy, I bet he would have been wearing a great big smile!
A great iconic Photographer Philippe Halsman who took iconic people.Who had great life messages though photographs.Leonerd Nimoy and Kaye Ballard are of course great icons as well.
The first time I remember hearing that theme music, believe it or not, was in late 1975 in Pittsburgh; probably WTAE-TV(4) had an *AM Pittsburgh* show there.

I would have loved to have met and had engaged in a conversation with Albert Einstein.
He took a selfie before it was called a selfie.
He looks strangely like Zachary Quinto here
